    "The paradigm shift must start from our focus on being the best at this or that, versus being the best YOU - with your unique mixture and variety."
    "Nobody can compete with me, in being me."
    Ido.
    Thank you so much for that, I couldn't agree more! internalising this mindset, shielding oneself from a superficial and ever-comparing society, is one of the hardest challenges you can face... Live long and prosper!

    • @portaldo
      @portaldo  9 ปีที่แล้ว +43

      +ShinyRedPanda Attitude grates egos. Messages are like mirrors - you see your own reflection in them, in their presentation, criticism, etc. People who cant see beyond their emotional response never get to the bottom of the message. Oh and one more thing - there is no way to put out there a universal message that goes through everyone's filter. I was never delusional about that. Some will love, some will be indifferent, some will hate. I keep moving and I keep spreading my truth - like Herpes.

    Wellness has many domains so to translate to CMA/yangsheng, physical elements (domain(s)) are only a fraction of the longevity paradigm. Good heart/mind, true vision and a moderate fitness/activity schedule is the best along with some good tea and laughter. As a young Marine, when I was stationed in Okinawa, Japan, Okinawans did not do /do not do any special stuff but they didi live according to the rhythm of their environment. They do not have the distractions of modern day crap but they were active and ate fresh food and preserved a cultural tradition

    I wish to know one thing.Ido says that overuse is a specific phenomem given that for example you can overuse a joint or a muscle group.But behind all the movements stands the cardiovascular system.All your movements are powered by it.And it must be used at all times, so you can say it is unspecific.So given that, how can you withstand all that?Without the proper endurance provided by genetics, it will be overused no matter how diverse your trainings are.Or maybe he wants to relate to that too, meaning that the level of strain must be changed over time as well?For me this was not explained.

      these are traditional internal martial art mobilization of tendon strength instead of muscles. Look up fa jin (explosive power). Ido being a good researcher of movements must have thought that was a good thing to add to his everlasting repertoire….

    When we look at the blue zone places where the healthiest and longest living people lives, we see that *ALL* but one of them eat a %95 meat free diet. And that one (California Adventist) who doesn't eat a %95 meat free diet eats a *%100* meat free diet and they happen to be the one who lives the longest and healthiest people out of any other blue zone cities. I really hope that you will wake up one day and realize the importance of diet in longevity.

    • @TheWildernessChannel
      @TheWildernessChannel 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can't argue with those facts. The argument often levelled at vegans is that they do not have enough explosive energy but I would find that hard to believe. They do have endurance as is evidenced by their ability to work long hours tending crops. Each to his own. Meat is a more concentrated form of energy but a balanced vegetarian diet fulfills the same requirements.

    the problem I have with this type of display of strength flexibility coordination etc etc, is that not all have got it! so... not all can perform these types of movement, they can get close but never reach this ability! I know you'll type back saying at least their trying, but its not what people want is it!?!

    • @TsmithWin
      @TsmithWin 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +fewhavestrength Why can't everyone do this? Not everyone can bench 3 plates or squat 4 plates or deadlift 5. Not everyone can be a world class athlete, not everyone can be a bodybuilder. But everyone should be able to master the movement of their own body.

    • @fewhavestrength
      @fewhavestrength 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +TsmithWin like I said read and observe more concerning stature and composition.

    • @perman07
      @perman07 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +TsmithWin Ok, I'll bring a specific example then. People with serious chronic shoulder issues that they never manage to truly fix will struggle with everything from pull-ups, dips, hand-stands, planches, levers, flags and maybe even something as simple as push-ups. Just one example from the top of my head. A 60 year old overweight osteopenic woman who's otherwise healthy is another example it's unrealistic to try to use such movements on.
      Ido's feats are obviously only accessible to a subset of people. How big that subset is (through consistent work) can be debated, but it's obviously not 100% people.
