IRC M5B and Michelin M14 works very well for rear! Nice and soft without rolling in corners.

I noticed the other day picking up both my rear wheels that the one with nitro soft mouse felt heaver. same wheel, same tire, only difference was nitro vs Michelin bib. I got around to pulling both bibs and realized the nitro weighs (by feel) about 2x as much. I don't think I will run nitro soft again unless in a pinch and will otherwise drill or run smaller size bib to get soft feel.

I’ve been using the Nitromousse soft mousse with VE-33S 110/100-18 here in PA and it’s been great. I used the Nitromousse 120/100-18 size soft mousse.

@@IRCTireUSAMoto I typically run tubliss @ 8psi in a D803 trials tire (technical rocky trail rider), just picked up a IX09W but I don't know if this tire will work good with tubliss since the carcass is so thin...I have zero experience with mousses. What is the PSI feeling with 120 soft mousse in 110 tire?

You should make your own mousses!!

I gotta ask, would you rather run nitro "soft" mousse or get a standard mousse and square the top like you showed above? That's a really slick mod, I've never seen that before. Only holes drilled. I imagine that even the standard mousse with a squared circumference has more life than the soft mousse.

I use grass clippings instead of a mousse. Then you can use them to start a campfire if you need.

Try cutting the mousse into 150 to 200 mms sections and pack out with smaller pieces from old one to adjust pressure, I have found it to work well and you can work with different carcasses

Just got my first set of mouse bibs for my bike . I was wondering if it is necessary to plug the hole in the rim from the valve stem for the old tube . Will dirt and water get in there and wear out the bib faster if I don't fill that hole .
Also wondering how often I should lube the bibs. Thanks for the advise .!!!

Have you tried the rise mousse X edition? It looks like a customized mouse but just ready out of the box. Would be great to hear your comments!

I run a 110 mousse in a 140 mitas efo7. Great combo for creeks, slippery rocks etc but both the tyre and mousse wear fast

Well, I in fact I haven't kept in mind, what the top riders as Gram, Mario or Billy(most of them) usually use. Mousse or gum??

    • @IRCTireUSAMoto

The top riders all use a mousse with a gummy tire.

  • @nickt471

I had a thought about running a ratchet strap around the tyres circumference and applying some pressure to soften it up a bit. Don't know if it will be good or just put a flat spot in the moose. Anyone got any thoughts on this?

You did not mention lubrication. It is very important. Those worn out mousses look too dry 😀😀😀 do you run them dry or you cleaned it?

    • @IRCTireUSAMoto
      @IRCTireUSAMoto  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

We mentioned how important lube is in our 'how to install a mousse bib tutorial." Of course there are cleaned, nobody wants to handle a mousse covered in LUBE!! HAHA!

Wish someone could /would come up with Mousse in a can. Different densities, for specific tire sizes.. inject it into the shitty thin tubes you get when you buy a new bike..

Same here. The most flexible and cost option that allows you to adjust tyre pressures on the trail to suit the conditions. Great for non-racers like myself.

@@danssubscriptions So I've gotta recant a little here.. For chits and giggles I just installed a NitroMousse on my TX300 front and so far I've got about 5hrs on it and I have to say I just love it. I will be getting one for the rear soon and won't look back, these are really nice so long as they last a couple tire changes.
