Do you have any experience drilling the mousse from the top to center rather than drilling through the side? I have a brand new 130 width that I need to get into a 120 tire and it seems that drilling top to center would make it easier to fit than going through the side.
Yes, 2 rim locks will certainly give you piece of mind and remove any risk of the rear tyre coming off the rim with an incredibly softy mousse or if the mousse collapses. I have personally never had an issue with 1 rim lock. It's just a little bit more complicated changing tyres with 2 rims locks which is why I don't always recommend it for more regular riders.
Would be nice to show the technique to get the rear tire on the rim on one side at first. When fitting mousse the first time that was the biggest struggle for me.
Hi, yes, 16mm wood type drill bit. I use the flat version but I am pretty sure any wood type drill bit will work. The holes are not all drilled very ‘clean’ but it hasn’t really mattered.
António Araújo yes, we used to do that all the time. I don’t recommend it with the new style Michelin tyres as the bead comes off the rim too easily due to the shape of the carcass. Its better to have a mousse which fills the volume but is softer.
Tips and Tecnic! 👍👍👍😉
great videos! thanks for the tips!!
Thanks for the video 👍 top stuff

2 rimlocks, always for hard enduro! Why are you only using 1? Did you never have issues with that?
Good video. Keep it up, man!

thanks for the video. which psi equivalent do you reckon you have in the mousse with these holes? without the holes it should be 13psi

Check out Rabacondas videos on YT. Easier with a Rabaconda or similar tire change stand of course but there technique ist he same.
Can be used any type of drill bit or you are using wood type,... I can’t see really good

Have you tried riding a 140 Michelin tire with a 120 mousse? Heard it works well with 2 rim locks so looking for some advice on it

My damn tire feel off the rim with a mousse. Hit the gas and the tire spun right off the bead lock and all
