I’m a trials rider, at intermediate level, so riding pretty challenging sections. This channel is really helping me with understanding the techniques I am tying to master. It’s great, I love it. 👍
Wish I could like this video 100 times! Best video I've seen on these techniques. You're a gold mine of information this wanna be enduro rider. Looking forward to doing a clinic with you this fall.
As usual, another great video, best explanation and video on the 2 different techniques. I had always been a bit confused about them before. Rich, Thanks again
This has to be one of the best education series ever made. I love the effort you put into the videos and the simplistic explanation of techniques using facts and science. I feel like this is the way I think about bikes so it's really natural to hear someone else explain things at the same level and logical approach. After riding for the last 10+ years and feeling kind of stale and plateaued I have a whole new desire to start practicing and training again. It's just really refreshing and I really appreciate it. Thanks Rich and IRC. Please keep em coming.
The way you explain and demonstrate the right and even the wrong way of applying techniques on video is maybe only surpassed by those who have the opportunity to attend a riding class in person. Keep up the amazing work! Best regards from Brazil.
This is the best explanation of enduro techniques you can find! If Jesus himself had come down to Earth again and had decided to teach us the Zap technique, I don't think he could do a much better job. Thank you Rich!!! Your channel is phenomenal! Keep it up!
Very few are going into the detail of how these things are done. That's one of the things that makes trials riding awesome, all these techniques can be taught!
Epic explanation! Been struggling with the zap and honestly didn’t even realize the difference in technique as compared to double blip. Really really need to explode off the pegs. Thanks!
Excellent Video ! The image was clear. It had plenty of lighting, and it was shot from good angles and distances for observation. Maneuvers were explained thoroughly and precisely, in a fine detailed way that was very easy to comprehend. Riding skills are just as professional and accurate as the instructions were. A very useful video for lots of riders !
Thank you so much for an amazing explanation, I really like your video and I learn so many things from you i Just start that enduro technique ✌🏼. God bless you
Wow what a great explanation of how to do it. Plus the shooting of the video was really good I could actually see you working the clutch and brake levers. I just wished I could do it in slow motion like you do it would probably make it easier. Haha
Once again, vert well explained and detailed even for a French enthusiastic rider. I have Always thought the 2 techniques were the same with 2 different names...
Big fan here Rich...also a direct marketer's dream. Seeing that IRC Gekotta next to you in every vid makes me want to order one - how does it perform on sand? I ride a lot of dunes etc. Thanks for the awesome vids, beautifully presented.
Thanks so much! That's great to hear! If your riding a lot of sand I'd go M5BEVO. If you ride a wide variety i'd say the regular compound IX09W will suit you well!
Thanks, good explanation but maybe showing what the hands are doing would help picture timing/coordination. Im trying to picture this. Also, a clip without the voice over would help understand the amount of revs needed. Also, I assume the techniques transfer the same to a 4T as well?
There's a close up of my hands doing the exact technique at 1:23. Then there's a clip without the voice over and just engine at 5:43. It's all there. Yes its the same with a 4 Stroke.
This is basic moto-kungfu, and I will learn it. I will! Now it's -9*C outside, freezing winter. And I've not even learned to do a wheelie this summer. I'm so depressed.
Rich, could you please explain what your hands are doing throughout the double-blip? Are you using both clutch & throttle for both blips? Thanks, Christian.
How important is the correct springing especially for the zap technique and how much the comp/rebound settings affect on getting the back tire off the ground?
Hey Rich, I noticed that you don't really use that punch technique on completely vertical obstacles. Is that because the double blip is more controllable once you get up? I've noticed a lot of other riders using that really aggressive punch/roll up technique that looks kind of like a delayed splat and thought it looked pretty cool.
Hey Rich, i have some questions for you if you don't mind answering and if you get to see this. I am a up and coming hard enduro rider and love the sport but i am having trouble choosing a new bike, i have had a Yamaha 2006 wr 250f for most of my hard enduro riding and it has taking me places the most other riders cant get too, but its old very old and heavy but cheap to run. I am looking at a YZ 250x but have heard that it still lacks the low down power that the ktm and other brands have. I am 19, 5.8 and weigh 80 kgs ( 178 lbs). What would your suggestion be?
I’m not Rich, but I have a steel frame yz250 that I dumped a ton of money into and IMO they’re amazing. Only thing I wish It had was electric start. It has a ton of low end and chugs. I had to tone it way down. I put an 11oz Flywheel weight, 52 tooth rear sprocket, 18” rear with a shinko cheater tire, Lectron carb, Rekluse auto clutch, Rekluse rear hand brake, Tubliss front & rear, o ring chain, G2 throttle, 2011 yz450F SSS suspension & had them built. Plus all the armor and small stuff needed. I wouldn’t trade it for anything rite now. It does EVERYTHING and is reliable as hell.
Steven Llewellyn, thanks for the feedback sounds like an insane machine, ya push button start is nice but really a much of a muchness. Also the fuel consumption, I have heard they like to drink fuel?
IRC Tire USA Moto, thanks would love to see that, btw keep them vids coming love watching you ride, I find it very entertaining to watch. #grahamjavisson
@@IRCTireUSAMoto I am struggling with the technique with either not lifting the front tire up enough and or keeping the front wheel in-line with bike when I hit the face of the obstacle. The clips in this video where it looks like you are in a backyard, are you using a combination of back or front brake mostly or no brakes at all? trying to gage the speed for using brakes
It's more of momentum and inertia from loading/unloading while "blipping" the clutch/throttle that induces the propulsion of one's body...but I am far from an expert like Rich! -just observations I've taken because if I'm not riding I try to watch and visualize movements & feelings! Much love and rip on! 🤘💪👊
I do completely un-weight then re-weight the pegs. Especially on the big bike! I'm pulling up hard to get the rear tire in the air. Literally jumping at times.
Much better than a lot of videos but as with all the others, there was no description on when to deliver the 2nd burst of throttle and whether or not you leave the clutch out or pop the clutch and then pull it back in or get off the throttle in order to make the rear wheel lift. I can't find any video that accurately describes these bits of the technique... Subsequently, I can't do a zap for toffee...
I explained it. If you notice at 1:23 you can see the clutch working during the double blip. One slip of the clutch to lift the front tire and another as the front tire hits the obstacle. I continue explaining the separation of the two blips and slips of the throttle and clutch at 1:30. I also mention the timing of when to give a second "Blip" and "Slip" of Throttle and Clutch as soon as the front tire hits the obstacle. It's all in there.
This is gold! Your explanation is on point and you are very well spoken with clarity and without useless filler words. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
You totally should get a raise for your excellent videos..... whatever they're paying you it's probably not enough!!✊✊

amazing vid, the best of all internet about hard enduro ! thanks ! ! !
Thanks for the selfless contribution you're making to our sport, I love watching your videos
Excellent video, it clears the confusion between the 2 techniques, well detailed. Thank you so much. Now I gotta go practice!
Great to hear! Keep shredding!
Solid Rich! 👍👊🏻
Great instruction!! I think you should note and elaborate how your feet actually leave the pegs when you are de-weighting the rear tire?? Awesome!!
These are excellent explanations of these techniques! Thanks!
Thanks Rick. Great attention to detail. Statict zap next please.

great, so we have one more similar technique to cover which is splatter, or I missed that.
We haven't covered that yet. We will though!
잘타긴 잘타네ㅋㅋ 영상잘보고 있어~
All the examples I've seen of these techniques is with a 2stroke bike. Is it practical to try this with a 500cc 4stroke?
Gold pure gold
Practiced these on my trials bike, it's alot more difficult than it sounds.. The timing is where I get stuck
Up pulinho aqui 🇧🇷
I always see video´s about 2 stroke in those kinds of videos, is it harder with 4 stroke ?

Tyler McCabe they do drink fuel. It’s a lot better
do you use a little bit of front brake to help compress the forks to get the front tire in the air? or is just body position position?
Yes I do a little. it kind of depends on the obstacle and speed. slower yes faster not really.

how to jump off the pegs? i found it hard to jump after te front wheel hit the obstcle
I find it actually easier to do a double blip or zap on the enduro bike as long as the obstacles are about a meter or less.
Unimpressed dog, is unimpressed 4:15
With the zap, it almost looks as if you jump your feet up / unweight the bike to help spring the bike along with the 2nd blip. True?

Pretty hard to learn what youre saying when there's no audio from the bikes.
Clearly we need to hear the revs and timing of the clutch work
