I bought my massimo 500 on black friday from Tractor supply five years ago. We take it around our Texas ranch several times a week. No major issues encountered, just routine maintenance and minor adjustments. It has been awesome.

Bought the same one several years ago and so far so good, I've been through the wilderness with no problem at all. Lots of the accessories were put together and assembled there at TSC so there can be stuff you may have to adjust yourselves. Also, more importantly they are supposedly shipped with no oil and are filled there as well and found out the oil drain nutt was way over tightened, so be careful taken it out. Also replaced oil filter with one that is easier to take off and can be taken off with a socket rather than a oil filter wrench, makes like easier. Also make sure to install a cheap online fuel filter as it does not come with one. I learned the hard way and had to replace the fuel injector after 200 hrs or so run time. It's a pretty good machine and not expensive as the hondas which was way more expensive. Do your periodic maintenance and you'll be fine. Have fun and stay safe.

I own a massimo 500 the best advise I can give you is check all your A arm bolts front and rear after about 25 hours left rear came loose lock tite and a torque wrench you’ll have no other issue on all of them

I just bought one from lowes yesterday. The only negative so far is the driver seat is not adjustable. I'm short so I need to scoot up on seat.

I've had mine for 2 or 3 yrs. I enjoyed your evaluation except for your comment on the 4 wheel drive. Although I live in relatively flat terrain, I have to use 4 wheel drive after it rains when I try to go thru the major mud puddles. the bottom of the puddles get really messy due to the cattle walking thru and running 2 wheel drive just spins the wheels. So far the 4 wheel drive has gotten me through every time and I've not had to use the winch to pull out. My massimo has never failed to start and run until I had to replace the battery. I also use it to pull the brush mower and it does a good job.

Thanks so much for your review .i have been looking at the Masimo sitting in the Warsaw Virginia TSC. Seriously concerned about the reliability and warranty work. I have read a lot of very poor reviews on them. A lot of reports of electrical problems , blown fuses , lights and dead batteries. One review said they needed to be jump started every time they used it and battery access was very hard. If I get one it would be mostly for my wife to use tending to her horses and for me in the garden. Please keep us posted. 👍🏻😊

I also did the same thing and figured to give it a try. Coming up on year now, and I've had the following problems.
1 just like you said. check bolts and see if they put it together right.
2 I had a battery issue. It went dead and had to buy a new one. it isn't covered under warenty
3 had issue with speedometer, in which I still do. The speedometer went out and no miles showing for quite some time now.
4 having an issue with the reverse. it is slipping badly. it is just like it isn't fully engaging.
So with that being said, it has been a work horse. not only does it go around a lot, it hauls a lot. Hope to have these little things fixed when I take it back to a dealer and hopefully soon, everything will be great.

Had an issue with the battery too less than two years in. I checked and the fluid levels were low. Just added distilled water and it is still working great almost 5 years in. Funny that I keep thinking it'll need a new battery before long, but all is working well so far.

I have a 2012 massimo 500. It will not gMove in reverse. It does go forward in both 2 +4 wheel. The red reverse light comes on and I can hear a engagement sound. As I give it gas it wants to go backwards but won’t. If you hold the gas down it will sound loaded and stall. I though maybe the parking brake was hung up inside as even in forward it seamed to shave a little drag. But it would go forward. Would it possibly need a adjustment to the linkage shifter rod? Any other ideas? The UNIT has less than 350 miles on it.

Thanks for the review, I want to point out, that when you are talking directly to the camera, try to look at the camera lens, vs looking at yourself in the screen. It is just odd seeing someone looking off to the side, when talking on camera.

There is no way "the engine is the same as the 660 rhino" I'm pretty sure Yamaha doesnt supply engines to POS chinese junk. the chinese copy everything and dont do it very well. They steal everybody's intelleltual property and peddle underperforming shit.

Keep in mind that this is still a CHINESE product (like many things in the USA). It's just assembled in Garland, Texas. A similar Coleman branded Hisun is assembled in McKinney Tx. Assembly is not much more than uncrating it and mounting the tires to the UTV. Oh, and they aired them up. Their website just takes you in circles. If you want support or a manual or a product or an accessory, it just takes you to nowhere land.

bought a new Polaris Ranger in 2014 trouble, trouble, trouble been into the transmission three times wheel bearings every year rebuilt the steering twice tie rod ends battery box fell apart and I am 77 years old and don't rough this machine and do the routine maint as per Polaris so buying a so-called brand name hasn't shown me much Polaris is mostly made in Mexico I have been told and they are way overpriced for a product that is not what it claims to be,I have found out in my lifetime that what ever a guy has its the best

My in-laws have ordered one of these turds for my Son as a gift. They already have one and asked me if I minded them getting one for him. Hard to say no without looking like an ungrateful punk and calling the one they have a POS. But I am sure dreading bringing this waste of money home. No dealer support available like you'd have from a "real" manufacturer. Im really hoping TSC calls and says this outfit has been closed down or gone outta business and wont be able to fill the order and I'll just pay whatever boot necessary to get my Son a real SxS like a Pioneer, Ranger, or even a Deere.

Think about this… its a rhino clone… the rhino, from yamaha, is known to be one of the best (durability) utv ever made… even though its china… they cant get it wrong EVERY time… your rolling the dice maybe… but its not inherently garbage because its not name brand…..
And, how much better has technology gotten since the rhino…? Not much…. As they dont innovate, china catches up…

I have the Cub Cadet version. Its obviously not made by cub. Its made by Hisun. Piece of shit! 2 years old and literally falling apart. Everything rubber in and around the engine compartment has cracks and dry rot. Luckily parts tree.com has parts for these. Spent 4 hours a couple days ago replacing hoses and boots. The chintzy rubber door straps have broken. Mirror cracked and dry rotted where it bolts to the frame I'm pretty sure the rear end is going out due to the amount of rattling and grinding. Probably because all the rubber that's supposed to seal dirt and water out have cracked and broken. I guess this explains why it came with extra C/V boots in the glove box. I was fooled by the supposed extras that came standard. This has no power compared to other brands. It looks like a sport UTV but it's definitely not! Pitiful haul capacity.
