- Do you wonder what living in Oak Brook Il looks like? You may be surprised at what you see! Known for large homes, scenic lots and Oak Brook Il Mall...Oak Brook Il has a lot to offer in a small suburb that's not far from downtown Chicago. In this video, I take a small tour of the southern part of Oak Brook Il highlighting Fullersburg Woods, Salt Creek, The Graue Mill and several subdivision located south of Oak Brook Rd. and east of route of 83. I also highlight Christ Church and Sam Dean Nature preserve off of York Road along with the Oak Brook Il Golf Course. I use a DJI Mavic drone highlight the large custom homes and how wooded this part of Oak Brook IL is. Oak Brook IL is conveniently located right off I-294 and I-88 and is a quick drive to both O'Hare and Midway airport. Living in Oak Brook IL also offers lower property taxes than other higher end suburbs but still has top rated schools along with highly trained and recognized Fire and Police department.

It used to be the town where all the rich people lived. Now there are so many other towns with massive homes that Oakbrook isn’t the end all be all. The Oakbrook homes are now rather old compared to the newer mini mansions popping up in surrounding communities.
Oak Brook and some of its surrounding communities are very affluent: Hinsdale, Western Springs, Clarendon Hills, to name a few. The whole area reminds me of the North Shore.
Yep...all nice, big homes. Some affordable homes can be found tho...but not in Oak Brook. A tear down can run 500k.
@@LivingintheChicagoSuburbs I used to live in Elmhurst just north of Oak Brook. Tried to upgrade after the birth of my kid, couldn’t afford a decent house in the neighborhood. A moderate sized tear down can go easily above 500 grand. I had to move out and it’s too bad I really liked the area.
@@aps125 elmhurst has become real popular with people leaving the city and looking for a suburban feel with easy access back to the city. Plus it has a nice little downtown...sucks you had to move!

@@taemoneybrown3093 yes! Barrington is great! Lots of home options, a downtown and it’s still close enough to highways to get around. It’s actually a city on my list to move to! Six minutes in and we saw one large home. Why is it whenever you saw an older ranch home, you referred to it as a possible tear down? Wasn’t it big enough to be in Oakbrook? LOL. You didn’t mention that Mr. Butler, the man who founded Oakbrook was killed when standing in the middle of the road in the early morning hours while admiring his home. It was sad, but why was he in the middle of the road in the way early hours of the morning?
Hi Patricia..this was just a sample of the southern part of Oak Brook. Right around 7 minutes you’ll see the bigger homes! And I’m not saying all ranches are tear downs…I love ranche style homes and if I found the right one I would not tear it down! Im just going off what I’m seeing in the area, smaller homes are being torn down for large 2-3 story homes. Thx for watching and commenting.
@@LivingintheChicagoSuburbs it was fine. I just had to laugh about the ranch home tear downs. In Oakbrook, I suppose ranch homes are considered slums. LOL. I grew up not far from Oak Brook and enjoyed shopping at the Oakbrook mall. It would have been nice to see more of the mini castles though. We did get to see some ariel shots for some homes. Nice job on the video.
