Thanks Chad and all the team working on these releases! This series is a true favourite of mine and the sound is indescribable to how amazing they all are. As a Gen Z, it's my first time experiencing some of these titles, and I couldn't be happier with the quality. It feels like I'm in the room during the recording process; that's how clean, quiet and vivid the soundstage is on the records.
Even though this isn't my thing I'm excited for the people who love it BRAVO ‼️

FINALLY a Cannonball reissue! Seems like most reissues are extremely accessible titles and are usually the same names over and over again. I get it, this is a business but it’s nice to see some of the many other artists and albums getting some love too!
This is great news for folks lacking in their Verve jazz collection and for the new jazz collectors. Also, glad to see some new reissues in the mix. There seems to be a lot of repeating titles in this series. That's kind of a drag for a neurotic completists like myself. I prefer to buy complete collections when they come out, but I can't see myself buying most of these titles as I already have the 45rpm versions. Please do not take this as a complaint, but it would be nice to not see the same titles being reissued over and over again. There's so many LPs that REALLY need to be repressed ("Lush Life".....cough.....cough), it would be great to see more of those be made available. Anyway, thanks for everything that AP does for the VC. I think QRP has really become (or is a big part of) the vinyl Gold Standard of excellence. Thanks Chad!

Oh man, I've been really looking forward to this announcement and the release schedule is even better than I could have hoped for. Thanks Chad for taking some chances with the selections - not just Alice Coltrane (which I know is not necessarily your cup of tea) but also the lesser known Mingus and Ella titles (relative to the rest of their catalogue). Very exciting year ahead!

Acoustic Sound Verve Series Part 1 your company delivered, so I would expect these titles for 2023/2024 to be the same QUALITY. I have to admit a bit disappointed to find out that the Roy Haynes Quartet is pushed back to January 2024." Out of the Afternoon" has had many date changes since the series was announced. All good! Congrats.

Universal does not own the Zappa catalog.

Over a *year* for Soulville?!?!? how about the one in your hand? Some gems on the way, at least Jazz Samba isn't that far out. I have my dad's OG he bought in the early 60's, I'll definitely not miss it this next time around. Patiently waiting for Pretzel Logic!
Does anyone know how they managed to get the tapes to the impulse stuff like Alice Coltrane and Pharoah Sanders? I heard it was all destroyed in the 2008 Universal fire
Some tapes were destroyed and some tapes were not. Not everything was in the same location. If we released it on the Acoustic Sounds Series, 90% of the time or so we had the absolute original analog master, and the times we didn't we had a one-off analog tape copy that was in good shape.

I never thought that I'd be able to get an analogue pressing of Journey In the Satchinanada (I have an early 2000s pressing, which I understand to be digitally mastered) Why was I under the impression that the tapes for this record were no longer accessible?
Not sure. There's a lot of misinformation out there.

Just about every record I've bought recently that was pressed at QRP is either warped, has pressing defects, or both. Acoustic Sounds may or may not make it right, but, my advice to you is to open, inspect, and listen to your vinyl as soon you get it to check for issues so you can open a support ticket at Acoustic Sounds immediately. Not sure what's going on there but they are having some serious quality control issues.

The bill Evans box was a disaster, quality wise
Couldn't disagree more. I bought at least 25 of their pressings and they were perfect. They're top tier and maybe you have bad luck.

Yes warped , off center, or both of it. Want examples? Bluetrain, 5x mingus (the needle kinda drops in some kind of valley at a point), bill evans town hall, getz/gilberto. Sonny red horrible noise in the inner groove both sides. QRP? Miss the quality 😪 Optimal did a more constant job on the blue note classics.
Don't need anything in the Verve Series, but when is the big limited item announcement! We're all dying to know!
