Damn, where was that car when I bought a 2023 PHEV Premium Plus. A total "Luxury" entry that was anything but that. Thanks Mazda for buying back my POS model, you did the ethical thing. I didn't know auto dealers knew that word. Before you get a bee up your skirt, I worked for Cale Yarborough Honda for two years and I saw it all. The Good, Bad and Very Ugly at times!
Great review, as usual. I believe Mazda has opted for a wet clutch for the CX90 transmission in place of a torque converter. That's fine on the highway, but jerky in town.
Maybe I would have to test drive this one because the fit and finish speaks luxury suv but his description was a sport feel like the Miata? Considering that our infrastructure on roads are horrible in this country I wouldn’t want to feel every crack and pothole that I can’t avoid. I was looking for a cheaper alternative to Lexus. Can’t wait though to test drive but if it’s too jarring, back to Lexus I go. Road feel ain’t good on bad roads don’t want a luxurious jeep.
@ yep 106 + but considering it would be my last purchase of vehicles, I would try to find one coming off of a lease, I’ll let someone else take that first hit
It's 319 hp with 87 and 340hp on 93 octane with the turbo S, just a quick note on that...me and my wife decided on the Telluride instead due to the annoying and frankly outdated infotainment without touchscreen functionality, having to pay extra for the rear view camera and navigation, and then on the test drive the low speed stuff is very jerky and unsettled...on top of all that the reports of battery and hybrid system failures in very cold weather was the final straw...absolutely love the platform and what Mazda has done with the performance, handling, and MPG...but a few choices, nickel and diming certain features, and rocky reliability with the hybrid system pushed us to the Telluride.
This thing deserves a suv of the year award. For the money it is outstanding.

Yes- to save space in footwell.
I switch to sport mode when stop and go driving or around town. I feel like it helps the transmission not be so jerky.
@@ericharrison955 Thanks for the insight
You can change paddle shifter control from momentary to permanent, so it doesn't go back to D automatically
yes. This right here!
Mazda makes great cars.
Hows the crossbar? Does it add up wind noise?
Great review GP! Hope you're getting back to yourself post surgery. 🙂
Do you have to use premium in Turbo S?
@@davidderrico9534 it's recommended. If you use regular, power goes down to 319 HP
No. You lose some HP but torque stays the same. No reason to spend the money on premium.
What about seat for long driving comfort?
I got over seat comfort when I get to the interior portion of the review 👍
Why do you do acceleration tests with a rolling-start? That takes longer than starting from 0.
I had the 2023 Preferred Plus (gave it to my daughter); looks like they got rid of that trim. Too bad; no 21" wheels, no panoramic moonroof.
You can actually set the manual mode to be permanent

Same - road feel on NY/NJ roads where I live is terrible. Which Lexus are you considering?
@ the LX, the one’s without the engine failures . I’ve test drove one and it absolutely wonderful so was the price
@ what trim were you considering? I thought they were priced much higher than the 90
@ base trim would be enough for me

You gotta love that
Just picked up one three daysxaho. All black, stoll getting used to it.
Please don’t risk your health to squeeze into a 3rd row that we know isn’t made for you.
Review the 2025 Nissan Murano and 2025 Nissan Armada please !! 😄
Most definitely will! 💯

Telluride even more unreliable trash
It’s maple wood
Only on the top trim. His model was one trim level down.
Compared with Tesla Mode X
Is it that horrendous?
@socool8860 Yes
@rakhsiprayogo82 wow
What's a Mode X?

You keep calling it a 3 Row, and I’m trying to understand what the heck you are talking about. Do you mean a third row seating? Hmm
Correct 👍
How could you not deduce that? LOL
Now someone is going to buy this engine that wasnt broke in correctly lol
