  • Overclocking update: Hey so I managed to overclock the gamepad pro to 1000hz and the controller did take the overclock, unfortunately it still responded with a 4ms response time. Still it was able to work at 1000hz, something the G7se had issues with and kept disconnecting. Hope this helps.

    The warranty sold me. My Xbox series s controller lasted almost one year. Fusion pro 2 lasted almost two years. Recon controller made it just over two years. I have been fighting cancer and I play long hours. There are nights I don't sleep so I play my Xbox series s.

    Bro you are the GOAT! I was in the market for a new pro controller since my fusion pro 2 has finally died on me. You literally just saved me 120$ as i was about to pull the trigger on a turtle beach stealth ultra. Seeing that i only use 2 back buttons like you said, one for crouch and one for jump. Im in no need for a 4 back button controller. These sticks seem to be on par with the stealth ultra maybe even better considering people are having issues with the physical sticks and anti friction rings grinding. Great trigger stops, good back buttons and a 5 year warranty for 80$! I bought this thing instantly after i watched this video. Btw you're really the only one ive seen do an extensive review of this controller. Alright my rant is over 😅 great content as always...keep up the good work 🙏

    All these controller manufacturers are so close to being perfect. This particular one isn't very good in it's response time, although it is average so not bad. However me personally need 4 back buttons. If you only need two though, this seems like a pretty good option.

    Hey man another good video i did remember to subscribe this time to keep up to date with the vids 😁. This conteoller looks great hows it feel compared to g7 se ? Still a wierd sense of aiming or have they managed to get closer to normal stick sense ? From what i saw on your tester it looks like raw mode wasnt a bug and thats just the way the hall effect sticks work

    • @thephototechy
      @thephototechy  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey, so this one is definitely different to the G7se.Playing on the G7se without precision rings, I have to keep the sensitivity around 11-13, when I disconnect G7se and connect this to the same settings I need to bring it down to like 9-10, so closer to what I play on normal sticks. it’s closer but still feels a bit different and I still have to reduce the outer maximum deadzone in game settings.
      I have to say I’m getting used to the G7se and really like playing with the Gamepad pro. Strange thing is I can play with G7se and swap to this adjust the sensitivity and off I go. If I do the same after playing with Hall effect and get on the normal sticks or from normal to Hall effect, it takes a game or 2 to get used to it. I know it’s very anecdotal but that’s exactly how I feel. I’m just glad we are getting more and more options with Hall effect, this is really a win for us as consumers, having controllers that can withstand serious use we put them through, would be absolutely amazing. Let’s hope these can withstand us 😂.
      Thanks for the Sun bro, really appreciated!

      Hey bro thanks! I think with Hall effect sticks we are going to see different calculations applied to the sticks by manufacturers. One question: How does the 80€ Pro compare to the 35€ standard version? Interested in pure functionality of the base features. The differences in grip, the volume buttons and the back button features alone are not important enough for me to justify more than double the price.

    • @thephototechy
      @thephototechy  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey so in my opinion the RGB is probably the best wired Xbox controller with no back buttons. the ABXY membranes are the same, the sticks are the same as the pro. The reason i say the RGB, is the micro texture of the translucent plastic. Audio from the 3.5 is a bit better on pro but low impedance headsets might not be noticeable.The sticks calibration is a bit more responsive on the pro, as one cn see a different shape in precision tester. So if back buttons are not needed then definitely the RGB is a better choice. The base one is noce as well but lack that grip feeling. i'm really excited about these, as I'm hoping they'll change the trend of the cheapest favorunion's modules used at this price point.

      Hey the Gambit’s shortest trigger is really short, after some game time I couldn’t keep it at that setting, coz resting fingers on them had accidental actuations. I found myself using the second and third stop on the Gambit with some software minimum deadzones to avoid false actuations. Snakebyte would be like between the second and third stop of the Gambit, but I much prefer the snakebyte’s triggers for sure.

Maybe I needed to give it more time and adjust my sense. Thought it could be a software issue from what iv read ended up returning it. I'm thinking snakebyte has more quality control vs gamesir. Going to try and give it another go. Do you notice the aim is better vs the g7?

    • @thephototechy
      @thephototechy  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey bro thanks! So the snakebyte gamepad pro felt much more snappier to me, but still I had to reduce my maximum deadzones in COD and BF2042. I read the specs and the alps sticks have a max movement of 23 degrees in each direction, where as the KSilver has 30 degrees, I don’t know if the extra movement is throwing us off a bit. For my play style the gamepad was a better fit but still needed minor tuning. I honestly think we need a custom response curve or a like to like with potentiometer feel Hall effect sticks.
      I need to try other games myself, is just a time thing for me, hence only get to test COD and BF2042. I tried playing destiny on my brother in law’s account and was terrible 😂 the aiming is definitely different in destiny. I might actually ask him to play destiny with the snakebyte controllers and see what his reaction is, it might take some time though.

      @@onxy8187 Hey Gambit is my favorite for aiming, thrustmaster eswap s looks really good as well, I'm definitely thinking of getting that for a review. Gambit is using the favor union higher model sticks and they do have a certain quality to them, thrustmaster to me sound like using the alps sticks and they are really good as well and rated for 2m actuations,just feels a bit different from favor union's.

      Hey Fusion pro 3 has 4 back buttons and honestly if you use 4 back buttons then this’ll be a downgrade. I know when I use 4 at the back, there’s a sense of not getting out of action for weapon swaps, it really keeps me mentally engaged a lot more. Fusion pro 3 really could do with better triggers, I was shocked to find out it actually has Hall effect triggers, but PowerA didn’t put good trigger stops, also I think the rubber feel of the fusion is very nice.
      One thing this has over fusion are the Hall effect sticks, also the way snakebyte has the response curve adjusted, this isn’t too far from the fusion quick stick response.
      Don’t know why but I feel PowerA and PDP might adapt these Ksilver sticks and if they do we might get their whole line with Hall effects. It’ll b interesting to see what kind of response curve calculations they implement. Of course it’s just a prediction, but one can dream right 😂.
      If you have no stick drift on fusion then u don’t need this one, but if you like having different controllers with your fusion and on with 2 back buttons, then this is a solid option bro.

      Hey if you need more than 2 back buttons then yes the wolverine will be better. If you can get by with only 2 back buttons and don't need dpad inputs bound to them, then this is a seriously good option. I absolutely love using this for cod multiplayer, I honestly wish this one had 4 back buttons, then I'd just make this my primary controller. Wolverine on the other hand is a real solid controller, I just find the grips a bit short in my palms and konrolfreeks don't worl well on the thumbstick caps, if those are not deal breakers then go for the wolverine.

    I’ve been researching a lot on Xbox controllers and after watching this I’m between either the GS G7 SE and this controller I currently use the Xbox elite and although I’ve had it for 2 years and it has very minimal stick drift I would prefer a new controller with less input and 0 stick drift, in your opinion what would be my best option on a controller for the Xbox, budget does not matter I’ve seen terrible reviews for the Turtle beach stealth ultra and so far from what I’ve seen I’m leaning to the GS G7 but the one thing that has me iffy about it is lack of trigger stops so if you have any controller you could recommend for me for my Xbox would be much appreciated (I only play call of duty no other games)

      Hey bro Snakebyte gamepad pro has one of my favourite triggers hands down, but like I showed the back buttons can't be disabled and cant have the Dpad input assigned. G7se is an amazing controller as well specially with the new 1000hz update, coz in 250hz I'd pick Snakebyte ovr G7se every time. If you have a separate audio solution and can live with no trigger stops then G7se is a solid option. If you plug a headset in the controller then definitely Snakebyte Gamepad pro is a better option then G7se, with amazing trigger stops.

But if you need only 2 and the lack of Dpad inputs mapping to back buttons isn’t a deal breaker, then gamepad pro wins. The triggers are amazing, Hall effect sticks should last a lot longer and it’s comfortable to hold, albeit not as good feeling like the rubberised grips of FP3, but still the laser etched gripping on Snakebyte gamepad pro would last a long time.

    I want to get victrix gambit or razer wolverine v2 chroma who is better in reliability

    • @thephototechy
      @thephototechy  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      So from my personal use I’d say both are on par, but I’ve seen some issues with gambit online, specially with the left stick keep resetting when pushed forward, I think it might be for someone who doesn’t use auto sprint and press it a lot( just a theory). Wolverine is actually built very nice, mine is still perfect, the only thing is the right trigger spring sometimes has a strange noise. I do have at least double the game time on gambit than wolverine and my gambit is absolutely fine, also I did take it apart to see the trigger mechanism and put it back together, something I’d be scared to do with the wolverine.
      There’s also a price difference, you can sometimes get 2 gambits for the price of 1 wolverine chroma. Then there’s the warranty period, gambit has 2 years and wolverine 1, providing victrix is able to do warranty service where you are.

      @@aboshmansi they are a bit far from grips in the middle. I actually only used the left side 2 and on the aiming side gripped normally, and made use of 2 shoulder buttons, so did have 4 buttons to use in total. One thing I’ll say, with enough time spent we can learn any grip and utilise any controller.
      I can understand this might be tricky decision, but the wolverine is definitely a better made controller and will feel a lot more premium in hand. Personally I’ve gotten to a point where I don’t care if a controller feels premium or cheap, as long as it’s performing good. If you are going to get a 2 year warranty with gambit then there is that to consider as well. Might be a good idea if you can somehow try holding them before purchase if possible, I know now a days it’s like ordering something and then finding out what it feels like. My first pro controller the elite series 1 was on display in my local game store for some time, and I must have held so many times before finally was able to save up to purchase it 😂, good old days. One thing I’ll say you still have a decent options between these 2 controllers.

      Hey so yes these are locked at 250Hz. the only xbox controllers I've tested that can reach 500Hz are the Victrix Gambit, PDP rematch and Thrustmaster EswapS. I was hoping the ROG Raikiri might be unlocked as its sorta PC first xbox second type controller, but that one is also locked to 250Hz. Xbox currently only supports 250Hz max so for console players like myself doesn't matter that much. Could be a big thing for people hoping to jump on to PC at some point from console so investing in a locked 250Hz could be a downside.

    Better then G7 SE ?

    • @thephototechy
      @thephototechy  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      That’s a bit tricky, it depends how important are the trigger stops for you. I personally like the slight quick response curve of the sticks on snakebyte, but the G7se has better back buttons, not only u can map Dpad inputs, u can also map menu & view buttons and if needed disable them. So if full featured back buttons are a must G7se is the one.
      For my needs and play style, I’m really enjoying the Gamepad pro. I feel really competitive with it. So to decide between the 2, I’d say think about trigger stops and what sensitivity you are playing in FPS. If you usually stay in the normal range then the G7se will actually feel very nice, but if you have a twitchy play style and like even a little bit high sensitivity, then definitely look at Gamepad pro.
      I’m currently working on a video comparing these 2, hoping to have out in a week. Lots of back and forth between these 2 controllers currently.

      This one feels better in hand than victrix and I personally really like the triggers on this one. Victrix does have 4 back buttons option and the ability to assign dpad input to back button. Then we have the hall vs potentiometer debate, hall is a bt different specially these Ksilver ones, but once you get used to them, the gamepad pro actually performs really well. I can easily transfer to the gamepad pro full time if I wasnt using the other potentiometer sticks so much. Still to me personally Gambit's favorunion's sticks and their response curve feels the best for aiming. Gamepad pro on the other hand is the best aiming on hall effect sticks so far, for me personally.
