Off Road Challenge in the Second Largest Canyon in America!!

- We head to Merus Adventure Park in the Palo Duro Canyon, the second largest canyon in the United States, for an E3 OffRoad event! And although we have guided trails for both beginners (who want to learn more about their 4x4 vehicles and the 101 basics of off roading) and intermediates (who know how to navigate a 4x4 trail but want to challenge themselves), we also have a group with a death wish - who want to follow the Stepchild through some of the more challenging trails and obstacles in the Canyon.
And we didn't make take it easy on either the drivers or their Jeeps!

Without the description I would have had a hard time telling Merus from Southern Utah! Amazing Jeeps and drivers, and of course Spotter! All that walking and climbing - Brit has the longest “suspension travel” of them all! LiteBriteNationBuckyBuggies!
We had a blast with you all at Merus! Can't wait for the next one, and I'll have rock sliders and new gears by then to tackle the hardest stuff in my Powerwagon! Greatest thing about the whole event was that everyone pushed their limits and learned something new and they were proud of themselves. That is what makes these events so wholesome, improving our lives in more ways than one.
Brittany and Kevin are living with no regrets!!! You've built an amazing community of people . Thank you guys so much for being brave enough to make your own paths in life ❤❤💯🤙
Oh how I have missed the Stepchild! Britt's spotting skills are off the charts. I could walk a tight rope blind folded with her spotting me.
Not to sound crazy, but when she's spotting me, it is like I can see the trail in her eyes... a moment of Zen!

Yup, The Old Goat sez Brittney is the best spotter he ever saw after Chinaman's Gulch. The Goat also sez he was never worried with her spotting him. In his opinion, I could have taken a nap with Ms. Brittney guidin'. But then again, we all know about the Old Goat. Much love and respect, Karl and The Old Goat.

Great video, I was impressed that teal JL on Ridge Grapplers could climb all the same obstacles as all the other Jeeps on MT tires.

Curious as to the smallest wheels we can get away with, in order to wheel different trails with Ya'll, and weather or not a semi stock XJ could wheel with ya'll?

Have to ask about tire choices. Think you are sponsored by Nitto? See many guys' like Matt's still run Milestar? We don't get any of those brands here, just wanted to know the logic, as in your videos there are a lot more aggressive brands on other off roaders.
The Nitto Trail Grapplers that they run are stickies, and a very, very capable offroad tire. I will let them answer, but I am pretty sure that they want a little bit of peace and quiet on the road, and the more aggressive Mud Grappler, and in my case the MT Baja Pro XS, are stupid loud on the road.
It totally depends on the type of wheeling that you do, and a lot of personal preference. Nittos have the strongest sidewalls, so cutting a tire is low on our list of concerns. And although the Grapplers we run are very sticky, the BFG red labels are a lot stickier…but with a much weaker sidewall. Tires with aggressive lugs can usually help “grip” rocks when rock crawling, but the tire compound is usually more important there. We never had any issues with Milestars, but we wheel primarily in the west and supposedly they perform poorly in the wetter environments in the east. We swapped to Nitto because we needed that reliability for KOH and the extreme stuff we tend to do.
Everyone will always scream that their tire is the best, but honestly it all depends on the type of terrain you’re wheeling in, the type of wheeling you’re doing, and your budget.
Everyone seemed to be having fun pushing it to the limit. Or just a little beyond: oops Kevin!
Brittany, you're the best spotter, but I am curious if the driver would have been helped if there were cameras pointing forward from either under the car or the side as they never see the obstacle they are driving onto over the hood? My EV has a front parking camera that shows my line superimposed onto the screen with lines relative to my steering wheel position? You could sell a kit..."the Brittany view camera, with your spotting as voice over)..."hard passenger..woohooo, great job!"

Loved the lady's reaction when she did the hard hill, she has been through something bad me thinks a toxic partner the tag said it SAVED ME, nice going Lite Brite I had to skip your drift upload not my thing even being a petrol head it does nothing for me same as Burnout competitions, but did find another good offroad channel.

The way it's going via scrapping Step-Childs fabric top, can't wait to see the crazy patchworks coming, lol! Brit's keen spotting seems like second nature to 'er & safe & sound Jeepers. L/B. Are these truly insane rock crawling activities in Texas suitable with Chris Payne's Land Rover D2a ? Or does he need the 5" portal axle kit with Salisbury(Dana 60) front and rear to complete with your Jeeps ! V.
I would not advise to dangle any part of your body from the window. 2 things can happen. #1 you can very easily break ribs against the door or hyper whatever your elbow and shoulder if vehicle jostles. #2 if vehicle rolls over you are going to have a lot more than banged up jeep.
People develop this habit and its not easy to break but its a bad habit to have.

A lot of people aren't carrying a spare. Is that the new thing? No spare and a tire repair kit? I'd like to ditch my spare but I don't want to be stuck on the trail with out it.

I hate minimum requirements on the rigs like 38 inch tires and skid plates. I understand why you do it but to be honest I can drive my jeep Rubicon on 35 almost anywhere I can drive my custom built buggy on 40s I would almost want a minimum driver skill requirement instead lol. I have almost more fun, driving a less capable rig up a ridiculously hard trail than I do driving the purpose built buggy.
Unfortunately there’s no way to put a minimum driver skill requirement into place. 😅😅 So we have to settle for making sure the rig is at least capable of completing the trail, even if a beginner is piloting.
