Best history teachers in the world - Sabaton. They actually won an award in Sweden in 2022 for being that years "Educator of the people"
Welcome to Sabaton, the best way to learn history! I recommend their songs Christmas Truce (official music video-watch to the very end), En Livstid I Krig (live in Gothenburg- turn cc on) and 1916 (Motorhead cover) for start. They also have their own history channel - Sabaton History, where a historian explains the events mentioned in their songs. As someone said, you should also check out their former guitarist Tommy Johansson (left the band in January to take care of his own band Majestica and his solo career, no bad blood), his cover of Steelheart's She's Gone is a great start. Sabaton is a Swedish heavy metal band, founded in 1999. Characteristic of the band are the lyrics, which almost without exception are about historical wars, battles and characters. Since 2016, the band has consisted of Joakim Brodén (singer), Pär Sundström (bass guitar and backing vocals), Chris Rörland (guitarist and backing vocals), Thobbe Englund (guitarist and backing vocals) and Hannes van Dahl (drummer) married with Floor, front lady of Nightwish.
On their online channel Sabaton History Channel, the historical background of Sabaton songs is explained in collaboration with historians.

Hannes and Floor are married. 2 daughters - Freya and Lucy. "Primo Victoria" the name of the boat is also the name of another Sabaton song! Sabaton animated clips are great too! "Red Baron", "Night Witches", "No Bullets Fly"...... The guys of Sabaton froze on the boat! Joakim. the singer, was probably bashing his leg to make sure it was still there! I'm sorry I didn't see this sooner! Crew of KMS Bismarck was over 2000 - only 114 survived.

If you have the time listen to Sabaton's ' the Night Witches' (young Russian girls fighting the nazis in Wo2 with archaic planes deemed already too old in 1914) , Uprising (Polish families battling the nazis in Warsaw) and No Bullets Fly (about a German pilot who saved an American bomber crew). All heartbreaking and uplifting at the same time. The worst and the best of humanity has to offer.

This was a massive state of the art battle ship for its time. Taken out by Swordfish torpedo Bi-Planes. The ships guns had issues tracking the slow planes.

Correct to a degree .. The Anti aircraft guns on the Bismarck couldn't actually depress far enough down to shoot effectively at the low flying Swordfish ... the had to resort to opening up with their main guns in an effort to swat the Swordfish out of the sky with the water splash the big rounds caused

Heh, how many rabbitholes are you discovering? Others have filled you in on who Sabaton are and what they do, so I'll just add my strongest recommendations for _Christmas_ _Truce_ and _1916_ (official music videos), plus _No_ _Bullets_ _Fly_ (animated *story* video). The wording is important, sometimes they have multiple videos for the same song. All three make me cry, so bring a tissue in case...

Ok you got my sub with this one lol. Y'all are fun. Jinjer, Hanabie, Sabaton--this is my shit! I saw Sabaton open for Judas Priest a couple months ago as a new Sabaton fan. I was not disappointed. Their sound is so masculine and manly, it's great. Their backing vocals are pretty incredible. I'll be seeing Jinjer in October for the fourth time in under two years with Hanabie opening. That's gonna be a sick sick show. It's a great time to be a metal fan!
I have two recommendations. (Well, three--one is MORE JINJER!) My favorite Sabaton song is Swedish Pagans. They do a great live version at Wacken that's a must see.
My other new favorite band is IKINÄ from Finland (our newest NATO ally, and they're badass). Check out the video for Rituaali. They have two legit badass female singer/screamers who do both in harmony! Their three albums are loaded with one excellent song after another. I know it won't bother you that they never sing in English, cuz Hanabie!

The wreck of Bismarck was discovered on 8 June 1989 by Robert Ballard, the oceanographer responsible for finding RMS Titanic. Bismarck was found to be resting on her keel at a dept of approximately 4,791 m (15,719 ft), about 650 km (400 mi) west of Brest. 48°10′N 16°12′W
I believe Sabaton is best described as Valor Metal.
I must recommend the 1960 movie Sink the Bismarck. I believe it is free here on YT. It was an inspiration for my enlistment in the US Navy in 1984.
First battle scene is Bismarck damaging the Prince of Wales followed by the Swordfish biplane launching the torpedo that damage Bismarck's rudder.
Second battle scene is Bismarck and either Rodney or Sheffield exchanging fire while Dorsetshire launch torpedoes.
King George V, the flagship after the destroyed Hood was heavily involved as well but is not really in the video.
Too bad because he was magnificent with his primary 4 gun tower topped by a 2 gun secondary tower.
If you are into pirate stuff, people will recommend you the band called Visions of Atlantis.
I'm not enough into the pirate stuff to recommend specific song.

The cool thing is the Swordfish biplanes you see were obsolete in WW2. The Bismarck couldn’t shoot down a single plane because the gunners were expecting fast planes while the Swordfish were slow lumbering planes.
When the Bismarck emerges from the fog….THAT was badass.
When it comes to Sabaton and their music, you should listen to their lyrics first then the melody. Understand what they are singing about to get it right. They sing about historical war events.

If you like Nightwish adjacent bands, Wintersun is fantastic as well, with their drummer and bassist now playing in Nightwish, but their songs "time" and "sons of winter and stars" are awesome. The live sessions at sonic pump studios are kinda the agreed upon ones to check out. Thanks for making my day better and hope y'all have a great weekend
