From 757s to 737s, A318s, A320s, A321s, Jetstream 41s to Embraer 190s, pilots and passengers of all aircraft are always kind enough to give a friendly wave after seeing plane spotters jumping up and down happily waving their hands all over the place. It is a sight to see, having in mind that in a few minutes all these people will be in the air, with the passengers heading back home full of pleasant memories. A last contact with people on the island before heading home. How beautiful! This video includes some special clips including jetblast action, pilots signalling spotters to get away from the blast and much more.

When I was at the Lisbon airport we were waiting outside in line for our plane to open the doors since they don’t have those tunnels to walk inside a plane. We were all waving at the polite in the plane waiting to take off they would always wave back at us. Such a good moment. ❤

I remember so much when I was in a spot that planes were very close in Montreal and I saw the pilot and the co-pilot waving at me. It's always nice to have pilots waving at you when plane spotting. It was my first time in this spot and it's now sadly closed.

***** depends on where ur working. nowadays, working conditions are so bad, pilots pay for jobs because there are so few of them left, and it creates terrible flight security

They do this everywhere but they did it when was waiting outside for my plane to open the doors. All the pilots would wave at us. Super cool ❤

I think the pilot of the MON757 just decided to stop and bask in the glory for a minute before having to head back to Gatwick @ around 12:00 haha
As with most of the 757s they all have to use engine assisted turns... like the thomas cook that took the top off the small boat!
Pilots are the most awesome, chill people with the most awesome job there is.

I still love watching your videos of your summer trips to Skiathos, they are always fantastic, the flight deck crew always gave you a wave.
What make me sad is how many of these wonderful airlines no longer exist, most gone, even before Covid.

this is one of my favorite Sciathos spotting video I've ever seen.
Does this airport service jets bigger than B757-300? Imagine the jet wash of a B777 that close up - would be awesome. A B747-400 or 8. Hell what would A380-800 have done. Really heartening to see happy, waving spotters, pilots and passengers - us humans at our best :)

That was a brill video (including the doggy bit), the slight roll-back on the MON B757 was nice to catch. All he needed was a tad more power. Good look with your aviation dreams. Guys that is so cool and fun but do me a favor at least put on sunglasses on your head the blast is so strong would be any tiny rock or debris which could do a lot of damage to your eyes or head. There has been cases of aircraft beeing damaged from previous aircraft blast or even self-inflicted damage. (A320 in France had it's tail damaged at T/O thust by a stone, it was not pretty) Thanks for you *hard* work ahaha !!!

This looks pretty fun. I would love to visit someday. What airport or runway is everybody standing next to and where is this located? I am currently a ramp agent and been doing it for a little over 9 months so far and I'm loving it. I love to see and hear airplanes take off, especially the MD-90, the b737, the b757, and the Airbuses. Whenever I used to go to the eye doctor when I was a little kid, I used to take home little small diecast toy planes. it was crazy because up until I started working at the airport, I used to think a lot of the aircraft were the same because the only time you really see different types of small aircraft that you can hold in Your hand is when there small scale models of real ones. Lol.

Great video.....Brilliant to see pilots interacting with the plane spotters. Considering looking at a holiday there next year. Do the aircraft always approach and take off from the runway from the same direction ?

At 5:38, we can hear the pilot increasing the thrust of the Thomson 757 while the plane is still turning, why is that?
Tranzorr When making a 180 degree turn on the runway we have to balance between carrying too much speed and putting stress on the gear, or going too slow and running out of inertia. If the plane gets slow, adding a bit of thrust on the outside engine can help in the turn.

Apparently the blue boat (Avantis) was set on fire by its owner for an insurance claim. There's defiantly some fire damage visible from outside if you look towards the bridge.
