When you know that life is for that, live and be kind to your peers to do something that is out of protocol but it raises the enthusiasm of the people and makes them happy, what a pleasure there are people like that captain and his first officer who although appreciate also say hello, thank you for those moments !!!
Great video and really good to see a pilot with humour and respect for those watching him at work. Small gestures like this people remember, so much of their work is regimented and dutiful. I'm sure he got a kick out of a little wave too. And I agree about holding it on the brakes for a max thrust take off, a very nice touch. Airmanship of the best kind and a credit to the airline, thanks for sharing.
I wait too!! I hope that the world will be as pre covid (and I don't mean only the covid but what it is behind this fiasco) and we will be able to live similar moments again.
We have pilots like this in Indonesia. He is very kind and very happy to show everything he has in his job to anyone who loves aviation. He is even willing to get off his plane to the airport terminal just to meet his subscribers, even though he has his next flight which is only about 20-30 minutes before departure. Everyone loves him, everyone knows him, in any city, at any airport. Yes, he also has a youtube channel named Vincent Raditya.
Christian Haselwanter- Grasl Well you sad that Austrian behaviour is great. Hitler was Austrian and he was a very naughty boy. I know Austrians don't like to remember that Hitler was Austrian and frankly, I don't blame them.
@@triplex2912 Why? Aviation seeks this kind of people. Humoristic and easy going, able to socialise and have a sense of humor at the same time. He has rather grown even more in the airline.
@Scorpio Rose I'm all for a sense of humour. This is just the wrong time and place. If the aircraft had taxied back then maybe. This is a crucial time of the flight and the captain (left seat ) needs to be focused 100%
@@Seba-ch3yq Again I do agree with a sense of humour but only a few minutes to departure. They could have missed a takeoff check. Peoples lives are in his hands as much as any surgeon. Sorry, but it's wrong.
You thrust holding the brakes till the desired engine thrust it's stabilized, and the reason for that is because there's a delay on the control input, same with the control column, when you bank left or right, up or down there's a delay, hope that helped, and for this example they had to do it due to short runaway, otherwise they would overrun the runway till it actually stabilizes and get's to rotate/takeoff speed config
On all of my flights on Austrian airlines, the pilots have been amazing. I remember as a small kid, i got allowed to go into the cockpit and press on the GPU and APU bleed air button. It was a small thing for them, but a huge thing for me as a kid :D
That's right mate! Also a good reason to stay tuned in my channel... Tomorrow a new video from Skiathos is coming with a truly overhead landing. It will be a great honor to me if you watch it tomorrow.
Been here a few years ago such a beautiful island and the airport is a big attraction as you can see here its a crazy experience to watch the planes ✈️ coming in to land or take off 👌Adam 🇬🇧
Pilots need more connection to passengers and people who appreciate and respect what they do, Mostly their job is isolated in their cockpit. Then to their private hotel and back to the cock pit. For Pilot's better mental health and even performance, the airlines need to allow pilots to meet and greet their passengers. Perhaps after every flight, passengers who want to should be allowed to shake the pilot's hand and say thank you.
Used to have an observation area at D/FW airport in Texas where the planes would taxi and the pilots and even some passengers would wave and all the kids and some adults would go crazy with excitement.
It's a plane, not a car. The jet engine doesn't have to slow down, the plane just applies the brake. Given that he'd have to wait before entering the runway anyways there probably was zero extra cost involved, apart from a minuscule increase in brake wear (but those breaks are made to take in the full force of a overweight plane with thrust reverser failure so such a quick stop most likely means literally nothing)
Great video! I'm afraid he was taking the picture (you see his face at the first moment) to document the report of the incursion (less than 50 meters ). Anyway so kind with the spotters!

Instead maybe park your house there if you're doing any decorating/remodeling...
