    James Reeves over at TFB was using velcro shotgun shell rings. Keep a few of them loaded in your rig and when you use all of the shells on the side of the gun, you pull off the empty velcro rings, and slap a full one on the side of the gun.

    One way to make sure more ammo is handy in the event of a home defense use would be to turn three velcroed ammo cards sideways on the gun so they are attached. Then when grabbing the gun they would already be attached. Take two and stuff your pockets and orient one correctly.

    John, on my LTT 1301, I'm focused on learning the needed muscle memory around loading. It seems that when loading the tube, I need to be very conscious of literally pushing the shell with my thump past the catch. So, my thump is actually going into the tube a bit. Only then is the shell retained. If I don''t do that, then the shell bounces immediately onto the carrier and I can no longer load. So, as an example, I load a shell until it catches, then load a 2nd shell without pushing it in until it catches, that shell bounces immediately onto the carrier and I have two shells maximally loaded. I've seen people rapidly load their 1301's and am wondering if I'm missing something?

    • @ASPextra
      @ASPextra  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think they're loading competition guns, not tactical guns, and that might be the difference. You absolutely DO need to load deliberately, but remember that loading into the magazine on a 1301 is an administrative and not emergency procedure and so you have the little bit of time to do it deliberately.

    • @Xandrosi
      @Xandrosi 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ASPextra Thank you! Makes sense. This is my first semi-auto shotgun. My old Springfield Savage 67F pump (late Vietnam era) is a real finger-pincer, but idiot-proof; it's either loaded or not. There's no way to accidentally partially load it. The 1301 requires a more deliberate approach.

    • @ASPextra

    John I think you may need a new SD card for your camera. This vid and a previous one have had glitches throughout, audio and visual. :( 5:18 is a video glitch that happened in a recent vid as well. You likely noticed that in editing though. Maybe a reformatting could fix the card? Anyway, that is a very nice setup and I believe you when you say it runs like a dream. 😎
