Dump Truck Stealth Camping

- I got my hands on a dump truck for the night and crawled in the back for some camping. I set up a tarp and my sleeping bag in the back of the truck and brought security cameras to keep an eye on things outside. There was a beautiful view and a wonderful sky full of stars to camp under. Who needs a campsite when you can just crawl into a dump truck!

Here's to Crazy Neighbour. We miss you. ❤⭐
❤️
We all miss him, rest easy my dude
:( Life sucks man
Here here
I'll drink to that!
RIP Crazy Neighbour. Kinda choked up when you dedicated this adventure to his memory.
Oh I know. His wife, mom, best friend. All so close together. Man’s a trooper!
@@Khristina1776 damn, i did not know his mom passed too. Hope he is doing ok.
Me too
I randomly thought about crazy neighbour at work yesterday. I was talking about camping and i told my coworkers about him.
@@Khristina1776 his mom passed to? God damn.😭
I’m an old woman. I found your channel several months ago and I was hooked. You filled my loneliness with your crazy camping locations, your quirky sense of humor, your cooking skills (well that’s a maybe on the cooking skills 😂) and your wholesome content that even my grandson can watch. I was heartbroken for you when you lost your wife, best friend and mom. I’ve been worried about you ever since. My daughter abandoned me and I miss her dreadfully. But one foot in front of the other, right? Just know there are so many of us “strangers” out here who have grown to love you through your videos. You are a handsome young man with tons of time still in your bucket. I’m sending good vibes that you eventually find love again, a new best friend….and well, moms, they are irreplaceable. If you ever decide to venture south into the states, northern CA has some great places to camp. Donner Party locations, Old Sacramento has some old haunted places, and stagecoach robber Black Bart and surviving members from the Donner Party are buried in the old Marysville, CA cemetery. Grass Valley and Nevada City are also perfect places to check out. With all that being said, I’m wishing you peace, happiness, and wonderful adventures to come. We’re all still here….
Fries in the bag lynda
Kinda curious if you don’t mind ? What age do you consider as an old lady ? Very pleased that Steve’s content helps with loneliness.
God bless you, Lynda.
I hope to walk down the street some day and hear a "Welcome to camping with Steve" coming from the bushes.
My wife walked up and asked what I was watching. The look she had when I explained it was a Canadian guy camping in the back of a dump truck on the side of the road with a starlink setup who made a homemade pan pizza in a pizza oven was pretty priceless
by now, she should know Steve well since you're married to her. if not, get her goin' starting with the first U-Haul video a few years ago would be my suggestion lol
the pizza looked really good tho ngl
I busted out laughing just thinking about the look on her face 🤣🤣🤣
Point of order: TWO pizzas.
We’ve all had that first interaction, man 😂
I can't decide what's funniest, bringing the pizza oven in the first place, bringing boxes to briefly put the pizza in before you eat it, or bringing pineapple just to emphasise you're not going to use it. Incredible stuff all round, Steve rules
Gotta keep those pizzas fresh, right? 😁
@@campingwithsteve yeah, the box cracked me up!
@@campingwithsteve I do luv pineapple on pizza! It's the salty sweet thing. Was your view the Jaun da Fuca?
It was about the pizza peel for me 😂
@@swainsongableIt’s so soggy and sugary tho.
Try caramelized onions, sweet peppers, and sweet sausage. It’s sweet, salty, and crispy.
Someday, they’ll tell stories of a simple man…tales of A man who hunkered down, who weathered whatever storms life through at him. Tales of a man who sought adventure and a new horizon with his comrades, no matter the river or the traffic on a roundabout, he always made it through. They’ll tell stories of a man named Steve, who lost his wife and best friend and still kept believing life was worth it, who never stopped believing in the spirit and power of wandering. They’ll tell stories about Steve, a man who was loved by more people and meant more to more people than he’ll ever know, just by being him. Truly, a legend.
Wow. That brought a tear to my eye. Thank you for such a heartwarming comment. Cheers my friend!

@@Mr.Howell I'm not Steve, and I wouldn't enjoy doing his style of camping either. But I do enjoy "glamping" IE I've got a cabin in the woods I visit. But it's got heat and air conditioning, filtered water from a nearby stream, and septic. But I enjoy nature. Especially deep nature. My cabin is so remote that when there's no wind you can whisper to someone 15 feet away from you it's so quiet. Incredibly relaxing. So after a day of hiking, we'll sit around the campfire drinking and talking, then take a shower and go to bed in the air conditioning.
I enjoy WATCHING what Steve does because of Steve's personality. He's just an interesting dude coming up with ideas I wouldn't have in 100 years.

Turning your nose up at a grocery store bar as you march back to your dump truck palace is *chef's kiss*
If they can't sell a beer to someone camping on the side of the road... then what's the point?
Who's trying to hang out drinking in the grocery store, HyVee??
Yeah, especially saying it was borderline depressing after just drinking a 'near' beer all alone while temporarily living in the back of a dirty dump truck bucket. 🤨
@@YuToob7 I mean the brief look at the crowd there conveyed exactly the vibe Steve articulated. Those guys looked like they were there to not be at home.
@generalmartok3990 You saw all that in a grainy 1/4 second flash? 🤨
I always thought it was pretty pathetic when people worshipped/ defended hollyweird actors/ musicians, etc. but TH-cam content creators? Now THAT hits a new low. 🤣
@@YuToob7 Was he defending Steve though? Or was he agreeing with the sentiment Steve expressed? If you think dump truck = depressing, you are kind of right, but are also missing the entire point of these videos. It is a silly, short adventure that sheds light on how many in this world are forced to live while still retaining positivity and a goofy sense of hunor throughout to lighten the darkness, so to speak.
That is what I see at least. What I also see is people sitting at a bar, staring forward, not talking, laughing, watching tv, or even gesturing. It doesn't take much time to read people and situations. Walk into a bar, you get this weird feeling, and even if you can't express it with words yet, you KNOW the vibe is off. A grocery store bar? Yeah, can't say anything for certain, of course, but that alone is very off-putting. I wouldn't sit down either.
You are arguing by exaggeration, as well, to make the scenario seem worse than it is. 1/4 second? It was like a full 2 seconds. Body language is seen even if grainy and is a powerful and honest form of communication. You say its a dirty dump truck "bucket". First, camping is always dirty regardless. Second, why is it a bucket?
What are you gaining from critiquing other's watching a video you don't even want to watch? Very weird to me.
Thankyou Steve….from a former Dump truck driver…in the little old Isle of Man..🇮🇲, I can assure you, at no point when I was driving one, did I consider stealth camping in the box….but now you have achieved this latest milestone , I see no issue with it, and would consider doing exactly the same…you are a legend…👍👌🇮🇲

Hey Steve, was so fun to come across your channel recently! I'm an American living in Spain for 25 years and during the last year I've been sleeping on the rough, pretty much like you in your videos. I've slept in bushes in a busy park, in probably 15 different spots in the mountains, an abandoned 125 year old crumbing hotel, a farmhouse with a tin roof but only 3 walls, in an abandoned car, in a rental truck, under a truck, in the stairs in underground parking garages, under a bridge, on Mediterranean beaches, on mountain tops and next to streams, in a small toolshed, and when it started to rain very heavily a couple of times and I had no time to set up a place to sleep, so found myself inside a tiny house made for kids in a park which I barely fit into, and even inside a dumpster (had to get out before the truck arrived to empty it.) Pulled out a tent a few months ago and set it up in the mountains just outside Barcelona, but as the rain came in the tent in a couple of location had to move it a couple of times until I found a quite hidden spot between 2 hiking trails, a mountain road, and a highway tunnel entrance. Only souls who know where I am are the wild boars that come by every couple of nights.
I go everywhere with a seasonal sleeping bag, an ultralight bag liner which keeps you dry from any condensation that may build up in the sleep bag or tent, and a bivouac sack to stay dry if it rains, when I wasn't in the tent. In the summer I set up a hammock tent when it was too hot to sleep inside the tent. Also some very lightweight camouflage screen which helps to hide. It's amazing how resourceful one can become when necessary.
Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for your videos, and I really can relate after my experiences over the last 14+ months. Maybe I should have documented it more, but at least I have photos of all the places I've been. Thanks again!!

I'll have to say, camping in a dump truck has to be an original idea! I never would have thought of that in a hundred years. Hats off to you, sir! Good job on the dedication to Crazy Neighbor as well!
Very much appreciated:)
Brilliant advertising for Fast Eddie Dump Trucks 💥
Way to honor crazy neighbor. I have watched 100's of hours of TH-cam and this is the first content of a guy camping in a dump truck. Had to chuckle with dinner complete with a pizza oven. Why boil water and eat a Mountain House when you can have a hot slice!
Knowing Steve is out there, on these mad adventures, gives me hope for the world. This good man just might persuade enough people to remain young at heart, be kinder, appreciate those who bring light into our lives, and inspire others to share their joy. Thank you Fast Eddie for making this goal a reality. RIP Crazy Neighbour, who lives on in the hearts of his worldwide friends. ❤
Thanks to friend Scott. It's good to know you've got a support network after your significant loss.
Glad to help.
The world is so full of bad news lately. You're a shining light of awesome. This video was full of great moments. Thank you Steve for taking us along on your adventures.
Glad you enjoyed it, stay tuned for more :)
@campingwithsteve Tomorrow I'll wear my Hunker Down shirt with an extra mischievous dump truck smile.
There is a lot of good news in the world too God bless Donald Trump and all the illegal alien deportations that he has accomplished
Actually, other than last night, it's been fantastic!
@@markdi2 And, school choice! And, free speech!
This is the first video I've watched since my mom passed a few days ago I wanted to say thank you it really was a nice video my mom died quite unexpectedly on the 26th of January I used to watch you all the time the last few weeks I haven't been able to because of her sickness I'm trying to get back into the normal I enjoy your videos thank you once again
Stealth camping feels so "cozy", like that same almost giddy feeling you get when hiding. maybe its nostalgia but I love it, these videos capture that feeling so well for me
Pretty much!
Little kids in particular really enjoy hiding. It must be instinctive. We probably never completely lose that feeling.
Just when I thought Steve couldn't come up with another unique stealth camping idea, I end up standing around holding his step 2.
So stoked to see more content. I went through radiation and chemo and your videos were part of what kept me going.
Wow, that’s very kind of you. I hope you are feeling and doing well, my friend? That’s quite a road to travel. Thank you for sharing. All the best, Justin :)
Get well soon. Cancer is an a-hole.
Sorry, TH-cam. I misspelled the word "haole", which is someone living in Hawaii, but not a native Hawaiian, afaik.
RIP Crazy Neighbor- a true legend.
And kudos to Fast Eddy for letting you do this!
I have to personally thank you Steve. I’ve been bed ridden all week with a severe case of Influenza. The thing that helped me get through this the most was binge watching your camping videos! Many of them were you and Crazy Neighbor. Thank you so much for doing what you do. You really do make an impact! Keep taking on life. RIP Crazy Neighbor.
the lengths this man will go for a beer and a goodnight's sleep is absolutely next-level
How different. A rare individual would find it exciting to camp in a dump truck. Then you give tips, "when camping in a dump truck." Hehe. Love it. It did make it interesting for the viewer as well. And Dump Truck pizza, Yum. It sure DID look good. Thanks Steve. You're the best.
That tells you how classy Steve's audiences. Not one single joke have I read about when's Steve said I don't want to be blown in the middle of the night. 😋 As always Steve an amazing video cheers to crazy neighbor we all miss him. And as always stay safe and God bless from Missouri. 26:54
Thank you, my Missouri friend :)
Gotta be honest - I hit pause just to lower the bar and be That Guy. Now I'm gonna go watch the rest of the video.
Wife and i got s chuckle out of that one.
That was awesome!! Congrats on a successful stealth camp. 👍. 👍
I did snicker at that.
You never know what major kitchen appliance Steve is going to haul out for a stealth camping dinner! 😀
Gotta say Steve, it’s always a pleasure coming home after a tough day and seeing you vibe no matter what, in whichever situation you’re in. Especially now, doing this for CRAZY NEIGHBOR… This is what it’s all about. Much love to you and the community that follows! Nothing but the absolute best to you and everyone.
After a week of health hit after health hit, I need a nap but tonight I now have a date with Steve and a dump truck…woohoo!!! Thank you, Steve❤
We’ll say you needed and got rest!
Fast Eddies business is about to be booming!
Another blessed camping trip! Thank you for what you do! You are one of my main inspirations to camp, I have camped somewhere Every Wednesday for 3 years and a month!! One of the best decisions of my life! Keep it up Steve!!
