Adam here. So, I just finished three days of training with MSP and it was fantastic! It was an excellent three training with both Scott Jedlinski & AJ Zito. Those guys are masters at their craft and as teachers and I could feel the skill and knowledge growing the entire three days with those two men. Here's the results of my in-class Black Belt Patch run: 3 & 2 Drill (3 yards) - 1.78 seconds (Clean) Draw To First Shot (7 yards) - .87 (Clean) Bill Drill (7 yards) - 1.80 (the first shot was a miss, just slightly below the A zone and all the rest were solid). 25 Yard Draw To First Shot: 1.25 (miss, several inches below the A zone) Successful in two out of the four skills assessments for the Black Belt Patch but I know exactly what I did wrong to cause those two misses and will be able to fix it.
I had an opportunity to watch Brian Hill, AJ Zito, and Tim Herron, amongst a larger group of shooters, all try to meet this standard during The Quest 2022 this past fall. On that particular day, none of them were successful. This is an incredibly difficult test demanding absolute time and absolute accuracy. I know AJ has successfully completed it in the past. Patch holders in Scott's class are some pretty rarefied air indeed. Thank you for sharing this Adam.
The best I've done on this is brown belt during daytime and purple belt under NV, both shooting a red dot. Very tough standards, indeed The bill drill is my nemesis, too. Best time is 2.14 so far I think the other belt standards are on his page outlining the test.
I’ve an instructor level course coming up with Jedi this coming week and have worked hard to be ready to get his black belt patch. It sounds like you’ve done well.
@@defenders-usa great combo indeed. You are an incredibly good shooter sir. Thanks for sharing this video and your reply. I’m currently running mainly my PDP Pro SD being little faster than with any other polymer wonders. It’s all about the training though, I’m about 3 levels below you yet 😎
@@phenom7181, probably not as far behind as you might think. I’ve a lot to work on and am determined to keep growing despite how much life likes to interfere. If you ever get a chance, I’m teaching in AZ, TX, CO, KS, MO, and MT so far this year. I’d love to be of a help, if at all possible.
@@joshlyons5781 absolutely right! During Jedi’s class, I finally figured out that my shooting hand was too tense, as muscular tension is the enemy of speed. Once I started relaxing, the Bill drills became a lot easier and now they are consistent as sub 2. You nailed it.

Those are some REALLY tough standards. You are so close. Can't wait to see this again after the class with Scott.

@@defenders-usa you'll get it, man!
And thank you!
What pistol and dot combo are you shooting?
That’s an H&K VP9 with a Holosun 507C Version 2 Green Dot. Great combo.

Your draw looks great but honestly I think your splits are kinda holding you back.
