We tried to skate in the snow too, but with a normal deck without trucks, which is possible in general, but snow sticking to the bottom of the board and even more importantly on the griptape, quickly becomes a pain!
Surely snowkating is one of the most difficult sports imaginable. Skating is already an extremely difficult sport, then add not being able to turn at all really?? And the likelihood of simply slipping out constantly?? Crazy imo
I got my first snow skate this week. I find it somewhat easier than skateboarding, but more exhausting. Shuvit tricks are much easier because the board spins so effortlessly in the snow. Staying on the board does take some learning though as you can't balance yourself like you can on a skateboard because skateboards have trucks. Pretty flat ground is good to have. Getting the board in the air is a lot harder than on a skateboard so it's good to have a drop. And you really can't turn practically at all unless the ground takes you in a certain direction. You pick up speed running, do the trick, go back and do it again. All in all, I like it and would recommend trying it. I'm not really keen on going to a skate hall under fluorescent lights for the whole winter. Maybe in the spring my pop will be better with this leg workout.
Day 3: I'm not so sure anymore if snow skating is easier than skateboarding. Keeping your balance is probably the hardest part, especially if the ground is icy.

Idk doing a manual on a snowskate looks easier than on a skateboard
And the snow skate boards are set up to lock in to grinds in a way that’s probably easier than trucks.. it’s still dope af and definitely not easy.
