I guess that's a Rule #1 despite of anything. Parents should never leave a toddler alone, especially with a baby. I don't believe that, her lack of interest about the baby means she'll hurt him. She's probably just jeallous or confused and doesn't know how to react, it's up to the parents show her that she's still precious to them, let her to participate and feel appreciated.
