    I am a new player, 1 in 9 ball and 2 in 8 ball and figuring out cuts have been my nemisis. I think this will be very helpful and can't wait to get to a table to practice it. Thank you.

    i can explain it you line up the edge of the cue 2 the point where u need 2 hit the ball in order 2 pocket the ball once done u move cue over 2 center and its a good way to aim practice helps💪

    You have the A B C of the object ball facing the pocket. So what part of those lines do you aim at? Aren't those lines curved when looking at them at an angle?

    • @howardberger3676
      @howardberger3676  ปีที่แล้ว

      The aim lines represent the angle to the pocket so if that angle is 15 degrees you aim at that line from 1/2 tip from CCB. Then from the back hand pivot your tip to CCB and shoot..Bam!

    Hey, howard, i love your videos about cte, i own cte and cte pro1 from stan shuffet, i also follow john barton, who loves to break down cte, and go deep with chalk lines, etc... i also follow roughly 20 aiming systems. i think that you did an AWESOME job, charlie

    Could you make video and show both hands? Because unclear how you pivot.

  • @0flan
    @0flan 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    so do you line the edge of the cue ball to a.b. or c then play the middle of cue ball to that Mark?

  • @Ohiojay100
    @Ohiojay100 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    close but no cigar. you're not pivoting correctly. you don't always pivot from the inside. you also don't just use one line for the visuals. basically you are still guessing. you need to see both lines to know which side to pivot from.

    • @howardberger3676
      @howardberger3676  7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Please note that this is a beginner to mid level video. You can pivot on most shots using one side pivot and having used this aiming system most of the time as league player, I pivot from Left to Right ninety percent of the time! One side pivoting has been recommend by others in the billiard community and I have spent long hours using both sides, but like to present the basics so players can develop themselves and graduate to the more complex CTE system techniques.

    When you hit the ball at 7:30 it is clear that you slide your bridge hand to the right. You are not pivoting about the bridge hand. You appear to be pivoting about a point near the butt of the stick.

    • @howardberger3676
      @howardberger3676  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      When you get position in front of the OB, in a manual pivot align CB left edge to OB right edge and pivot to CCB and shoot. These shots are mostly natural in that I am moving into the shot line and hitting CCB to "A" or "B" on the OB in this case.

    Yea I still don't get it, I've seen all of Stans videos and I just go back to 'hit the ball into the pocket'....maybe this is good for beginners to learn angles, I just don't see how this is any better than a lot of experience playing and I don't like having to be concerned with 'proper pivot' and all this in a tournament your mind will melt down.

    • @howardberger3676
      @howardberger3676  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't be concerned with the pivot if its a problem for you. Stan shows many shots when he moves right into the shot without pivoting. Overall the system really works, but you have practice and check out my Part 1 video. Willhave a "Back to the Basics" coming out soon.

  • @lbjmuzic

    Good vid...but how do you know whether to hit A,B or C on shots?

    • @howardberger3676
      @howardberger3676  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Louis, It depends on the angle on the shot. Most shots are A and B, but sometimes it will be an thin cut on the OB to pocket a ball and then your aimline is "C". More video's down the road with explain it further.

    • @lbjmuzic
      @lbjmuzic 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sometimes I would aim on a ball close to the rail and cue ball strait across for a thin cut and when i aim for C pivot to cue ball center I would miss the whole OB...I guess I need to feel this method more...thanx for these videos...

    • @howardberger3676
      @howardberger3676  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      See next video....on thin cuts you have to aim at "1/8" which is between edge and "A" or "C". Should see this on Part 3 coming soon...

    Noticed that very few of your pots were clean in centre of pocket . This has a huge affect on positional play. This is not real CTE only part of the method which only works partly.

    • @howardberger3676
      @howardberger3676  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Know its different than CTE by Shuffert but most shot are pocketed. I play position and still able to sink more shots in any case.

    roman 14032 - I'm glad I wasn't the only one scratching my head. I have tried to make sense of these videos and that is an impossible task the way this is presented. It is really frustrating to listen to half an explanation. He goes to a lot of trouble to say there are three lines to "line up" on, then he says pivot over and shoot - well god damn it! - shoot at what? Obviously I'm supposed to shoot at the object ball but what part of it?

    • @CE614
      @CE614 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      His method aims the left edge of the CB in a straight line thru the "A" slice of the OB. Then he pivots the cue tip left to right by keeping his bridge hand firm and moving (pivoting) the butt end of the cue leftward, ever so slightly to pivot the cue tip toward the center of the CB. You need to experiment with it because in actuality this is not an exact system; only a bracketing method to get you in the ballpark of correctness.

  • @nossavida312
    @nossavida312 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Most useless system ever, you can easily see this is guess work. First principle of pocketing balls consistently is lining up for your shot a feet or so away from the table, once you place your bridge and cue you ready to pill the trigger no time for pivoting and all that otherwise you will never pocket balls consistently.
    Most accurate players are snooker players and most of them use fractional aiming. Thats a system worth looking at.

  • @thomask940
    @thomask940 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    So far in all the videos I've watched not one has done well in explaining the exact procedure of events occuring when lining up the cue ball, pivoting the cue stick, the purpose of the pivot, the angles that come into play, the reaction of the object ball. There is so much being left out of the spectrum of analysis that makes for one confusing tutorial after another. Please learn to annunciate and utilize descriptive terminology.

    Dude I am pyramid player, nailing the shot in the pockets that are nearly the same diameter of the ball and never thought about other system, why you should invent such a crap... holy cow just shoot with the feel it is not that complicated

      @howardberger3676  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure what a pyramid player is, but CTE has been around for 30--40 yrs! and c I didn't invent it.
