So I just listened to your rant; I feel you bro… I had Honda’s (v65 magna) and then the Honda Sabre 1300. I now have a 2017 victory Vegas. (Love it) went looking at Harleys before buying this Vic. And literally thought I was just getting so much more for my bread.. but, I still am gunning for a H.D. As far as the welding, I tig , mig, stick but have yet to do anything on my own shit… would love to but with how much everything costs. Cheaper (for me) to just get the exhaust etc all together. But that’s me- I encourage you to get a tig welder grab that torch and learn. It’s an art that you will absolutely love. Ride safe bro
Yeah. You would be surprised at how much a bikes appearance changes just by doing little simple cheap things. I have a 91 Sportster. All I did was swapped to a solo seat and swapped out the elk horns for 18 inch drag bars. I bought both used, so it only cost me 125 bucks. Looks like a completely different bike. 👍
Right 👍 on brother .I suffered a stroke 6 years ago and I'm still pearlized on the whole left side of my body...I can't ride Harley anymore...so for the love of the motorcycle and the ride .I started putting together motorized bicycles... and Im learning how to ride again.. and brother I live in a retirement community and these older folks hate me tearing ass on my motorized bicycle around the park😅😅😅😅😅😅😅.but I'm still alive and building and riding ..
I had the same bike as you back in the day and it just broke me at the end of the day because it was so unreliable. After I sold the Harley I bought my first Gold Wing and never looked back. Buying into the HOG culture is not cheap and not for the feint of heart.
I'm 53 and just now getting into building bikes. Right now I have a Honda shadow that I'm rebuilding . Hopefully soon I'll have that Harley I want.

Welcome to the family…
I’m still riding my 02 Heritage ( carbureted )
You're gonna need a rainbow shirt to go with that bike now bud.

Now Harley is so woke that Bud Light is embarrassed by them.
