Is that your kitchen cooking apron you were cleaning your bathroom in?
@@markmccurry9487 I wonder if there is a contraption that somehow utilizes a detergent-like substance that will clean and disinfectant material. It could be called a fabric/material cleanser or clothing cleaner, or wait I've got it, a clothes washer. Someone should invent that contraption like machine so one can wash their "cooking" apron after they clean their house. Cooking apron😂
Thank you for saying, "Homemakers, your work matters" at the end! It matters because Home Matters!
And how seldom, if ever, we hear those words. But it’s so true. 💐
I love her encouraging words ❤
I always said no one notices what you did but they sure notice if you didn't do it. I'm a Western Washington neighbor !!
Thiss so couldn’t be more true
I too have said this. Perhaps it is a general common sense us women homemakers have.
Right ?! ☺@@justathought1971
That is so right ! we just do what we see needs to be done.☺@@angeladyson7367
M. Nnbcbc. I it on no. Ok I no nkn
Yes…I’m the one who rotates the plants in my house and I’m glad to hear I’m not alone!! There are so many jobs no one (but me) notices…but I tell myself there is pleasure in doing a job well and taking pride in one’s work…and usually that suffices. I have to say, I love all your content but I ESPECIALLY love this video where you share more of your home and I love content about homemaking in general…it’s an under-discussed and under-valued topic (imo) so I love when others share about their homemaking styles. 😊❤️
Yes! But everyone notices when these things AREN'T done.
"Our home is far from perfect, there's a lot of dirt, a lot of grime, a lot of sin, and just real life that goes on day-to-day. And tomorrow, we have the blessing, and the challenge, of doing it all over again." Loved your words about this Shaye. Thanks for giving us a peek into your life- I'm so grateful to be able to poured into by an older and wiser sister
"Homemakers, your work matters." No truer words were ever spoken, as evidenced by the unfolding of events on our planet. Thank you for showing the "real" work of caring for a family and reminding us of the sacred responsibility we've been given. After 50 years of doing so, I can testify to the rewards. Blessings to all the mamas out there, putting one foot in front of the other, with grace and love.
I love that - "putting 1 foot in front of the other with grace and love" 💗
I would love to see a before and after video of your new bedroom and bathroom. We all would.
I love this video. It reminds me of my time in our winery, as a full-time mum of five children. Everything was never perfect with us either, but it was cosy and the days were full of work, laughing, crying, arguing, playing and above all good food, always freshly cooked, day after day. Today the children are grown up and out of the house. A time that I miss very much 🌼❤🤗💖
A much needed manifesto in this age, “Homemakers, your work matters.” One of my favorite videos you’ve ever done…and that says a lot because I’m a fan of your content 😉
hey I'm not the only one who puts liquid soaps into nice bottles, dish soap & laundry detergent! I make some people cringe when I scrap my hand with the blunt end of the knife to get off the chopped veg - homemakers unite! We are home and family lovers!
I love every one of our videos, thank you for sharing the joys of family life with us all............Tammy
My five year old just walked up and saw your video and said “oh it’s her, I love her. She’s good at making stuff.” 😂😊 we used your pasta video to make pasta together last year. Thanks for being “good at making stuff!” And for sharing it!
This is the best!
I really really enjoyed this video and watching a longer version of your whole day. Honestly, I enjoy all your videos. 💕
It's nice some of the everyday homemaking things (makes me feel less alone to be always picking up socks and dusting)
I wonder if stools or benches would be helpful under your table so you can use it easily as a work table; I understand the need of shuffling a few chairs when digging in deep on a project that requires lots of room.
I love this! As a 69 year old grandma of 10 and mother of 3 adult children I say thank you for teaching younger people the value of homemaking. My husband and I were watching this over lunch and he turned to me an said…”I think those are people we would really like”. High praise from my husband let me tell you!😬💕 keep up the good work and God bless you and yours!
“Homemakers your work matters.” Amen sister! ❤
Your new bathroom and bedroom are lovely. If you've had a tour I missed it. It's very beautiful. Sometimes I have to force myself to do the work that needs to be done. It seems like I run in circles some days but the outcome is always worth it in the end.
yes. I got confused at first. I thought, "that's not the same bedroom AND a new bathroom."
@@Karen-lo5oi Shaye used to do tours of their home but it's been a long time since she's done one. Maybe she decided to stick with cooking and homemaking however I'd like to see more detail about the new bedroom and bath. It sure is pretty.
You are not just a homemaker, you are a savvy business woman, own it!
Keeping a happy, healthy, loving home "is" the most important job in the world! And I love the word "homemaker". My Mom (may she rest in peace) was the best homemaker ever. Her family and home were everything to her. I look back on all those years she so unselfishly toiled away to keep her family and home well cared for. Thanks Mom for teaching me all those skills. Home is everything! Thanks for sharing.
Hey, I love the way you ironed your napkins. Good job on lifting that stain. Wel done on your good grooming of your children.
It may seem odd…but I truly enjoy these tag alongside “A day in the life…”. I find them inspirational and motivational. Thank you for taking us along with you…❤
They are my favourite it always motivates me
I like tag alongs, too! Reminds me when we used to do dishes together... oh, such sweet memories!
This is the most relatable thing you have ever made. I love this even more than the beautiful perfect looking cooking videos. (Although I love those, too!) Just the idea of mentally reframing mundane chores in our minds as blessings, and being grateful for what we have while doing these chores changes us . Steadily and consistently working to make our homes a place of joy, love, and welcome in spite of the monotony is the goal. The lovely thing is how our homes bless us back.
“Homemakers: Your work matters.” Sounds like a great book title. Thoughtful presentation of this subject. Love the idea of blessing and good thought processes to be present with as you work. Thank you.
Always a blessing to watch ❤
Thank you. Thank you for the reminder that the unseen is still important AND that all of it can be put into the perspective of imperfect can still be peaceful and beautiful. Thank you Shaye.
I noticed right away that the plant needed to be turned and was so happy you noticed too🤗. Your a good homemaker
Well done and well said! Watching my four-year-old grandson all day, about 50 hours a week, has left me a little less than excited about homemaking. It’s nice to be reminded how important the beauty around me is in the baking, gardening, and simple tasks. Finding joy in each day is really up to each of us, it is an inside job. 😊
I have never seen green ceilings! This is so interesting! What a unique style, and I love it!
I pray to someday be the Homemaker in our home ❤
Beautiful video! As a mother of two adult children and four precious grandchildren, I can attest to the fact children grow up too quickly! Enjoy this precious time in your family! ❤
"blessing" instead of re-setting. I love it.
Beautiful words! So true: there tremendous honor and solace in the mundane tasks we preform for our families. “Posture of the heart!”❤
Your videos bring me so much comfort!!
I just love seeing your home, it is a work of art!!! I'll trade ya!! 😄I love your homemaking videos. It's what first drew me to your channel!!!
Hey Shaye, I love these homemaking videos. And hearing all about your routines and the reality of being a homemaker. Keep up the good fight my friend!
Beautiful video, beautiful message as always! Thanks for inspiring us to keep doing it! You and angela have a real mission on our generation!
Oh I loved this! (Though I was shocked at the missing coffee footage, lol ❤☕️😌)
By far my favorite content you make are these videos of just a happy and productive day at home with your family doing mama stuff.
My philosophy, “Cook once, Eat twice.” Great time and energy saver.
Beautiful! Those were busy days… I think back now to the food I made, lingering around the table when our 5were all at home with fondness. Now they have their own homes and that is good and right too. The days are long but the years are short.
❤ watching your videos has so much value. 😊
Shay! When did we discuss your beautiful new bedroom!!! Was there a video? OMG!!
Thank You so much for sharing and inspiring! I’ve seen this video as the first thing in the morning while drinking my coffee and now I’m ready to go and glorify my Heavenly Father by serving my family as well as I can. Thank You!
By the way - greetings from Latvia!:)
Your new bedroom and bathroom have turned out SO beautifully! ❤
Thank you for showing us what all happens in a day in your family life! Good to see everyone working and eating together!
Beautiful Produce🎉.
Homemakers deserve medals for all the unseen duties they perform to make the Family happy, warm and bellies full❤.
JO JO IN VT 💞
I love seeing the other parts of your home! You have done such a beautiful work of art in your bedroom and bathroom.
I have never seen this room! It's beautiful!
Thank you for the encouragement to persevere even when there's no encouragement or acknowledgment at the house. ❤
It was so great to see more of your home, you've mentioned on homemaker chic making a new bedroom, I was waiting to see what you did with your Renos!! Looks lovely and the homemaking content its so encouraging to me!
Such a beautiful and realistic day in the life of a homemaker! I love the part where you said it's hard to teach the 'cooking economy' part to a new homemaker because I totally relate. I've been a homemaker for 4 years now and I feel like I'm just now learning that "art" of stretching food creatively.
I have a schedule myself and it helps. Monday thru Thursday I dedicate to the house, and Friday I have time for myself. My husband is not the outgoing type so, I cook which I love to cook, but sometimes I will order out. Once in a while we will go out to eat and enjoy time with family and friends. Working from home has it's benefits but we all need to have our alone time to ourselves. Also, I was seeing that her kids are pretty grown up to help with the chores of the house. While they are growing its good to teach them to defend themselves and learn for their future.
Such a good reminder not to get lost in the weeds (or the dust) and remember the important stuff-as an almost (months away) empty nester I'm realizing a season of my life is closing and another one is opening. I want to be thoughtful about what that new season includes or doesn't include. In my situation we lost our home to fire a year and a half ago and as hard as that was its given me the ability to choose what things and activities I want in this new season.
I love your home it looks so cozy and beautiful. You and your husband are such loving parents. My your channel continue to have great success. I have truly learned a lot from watching your videos and always look forward to the next one.
Loved this, and I just love your new bedroom/bathroom!
love the encouragement! Thank you!
What a TREAT to see your newly finished master suite and hear your beautiful wisdom❤ thank you!
Love your honesty about how crappy housework can feel!
I love the “here to serve” mindset.
Lord bless this family, pour your healing out on her father .
These are my most favourite videos. Thank you for letting us in for the day. I find it so inspiring and encouraging to see and delight in those little details that do make a home ❤
ALOHA SHAY YOU TRULY INSPIRE ME WITH DESIRE AS A HOMEMAKER THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE THAT DONT REALIZE WHAT A POSITIVE MIND SET YOU NEED TO SUSTAIN FROM FARM TO TABLE AND KNOWING THAT YOU HAVE SO MUCH MORE ON YOUR PLATE SUCH AS CLEANING COOKING AND SO MUCH MORE FOR INSTANCE HOME SCHOOLING YOUR 4 CHILDREN AND ON TOP OF THAT STAYING POSITIVE ONLY BECAUSE EACH DAY IS DIFFERENT ANYWAYS STAY SAFE AND BLESSED ALWAYS XOXOXO
Loved this video! As a homemaker some don't understand the value in it, especially the food. I cook every meal and can some meals in a jar for the days when everything is just moving too fast. I think you pay with your time and groceries now or you pay double to the doctor and the drug companies later. There is immeasurable value in teaching your children about growing food and making food. My son has been learning at my side since he was six. He can grill, follow recipes, make meals with help. They need the experience before they're out on their own so they to value what you can do with ingredients. He is also learning homemaking through doing chores. He does his own laundry and helps pick up the house and puts away the dishes etc. There are lots of things kids can help with that also gives them a purpose and place in taking care of the household. Making soup today, started the broth going this morning, before dishes and will be having something close to what you just made, but with basil, no pasta. Will be canning some mexican chicken also for the shelves. Just sat down for a few to watch this before starting more laundry and heading off the the store for chicken on sale. I am more than happy to take less vacations, shop at thrift stores and drive an old used car and numerous other things, in order for me to be able to stay home.
I love it when momma
Puts her lashes on and has fresh laundry 😉 🧺
This is by far the most relatable video you've ever made! We all need reminders that we are not alone in the mundane. I needed the remidner to see this as a blessing.
This was so needed for me today. Although I m not a homemaker, I do a lot of cooking and cleaning and some gardening. Listening to you made it feel all worth it. Thank you for this video.
Thank you for making me feel good about my daily life that is not perfect by any means, thankless most days, not always pretty, but it is my homemaker life that I love!
A posture of the heart... i love that
I used to have the same type of rotation with cleaning, but my husband would come home from work and not think that I had done anything, when I was just doing one room at a time, so we settled on once a week we both clean the entire house together, and then throughout the week, we just keep our own messes picked up, and I clean up messes and spills from the kids, but no actuall cleaning except on the weekend. My hussband gets his house spotless (even if for only a day), & I spend the most of one day cleaning, instead of a little every day, but he helps... lol!
What a fantastic episode, Shaye! I love the honest homemaking content!
Great video! I am a big fan of your home centered ones! Is this the first video where you give a glimpse of all your beautiful hard work on the lower level of your home? Bedroom, bath, laundry etc. ? It looks lovely! Would you consider doing a more talk through/walk through tour?
This was very encouraging. I have been home for over 45 years and this touched my heart. Thank you.
Love your videos all the time💕❤
2:11 I love that it says plumpkins!
The green paint color in your bedroom is stunning
This was such an encouraging video 💕

Beautiful words and homemaking. Thank you for bringing us along
Thank you for this! ❤
Hi Shaye, Did you harvest those Roma tomatoes from one bush? Wow! I’d appreciate your thoughts on making a frittata in a stainless pan and a instead of copper and basically what type of food you cook in cast iron (meat), copper (sauces?), and all other foods. Thanks so much, Julie
Lovely!
You're doing a great job, Shaye!! Your napkins are so beautifully ironed! 😘
Beautiful video. It is such a good reminder to keep encouraging yourself through each task “one more time” sometimes that’s all we can do. Also that white shirt looks like it was made for you. So classic.
Hey good job that room looks great!
Thank you for the encouraging video. Your kitchen looks so cozy.
Best video you’ve done. 💛
Such a lovely video as always! So so excited to see your new bedroom! Been dying to ❤❤❤ just beautiful!!
