Hey yall! This is our new #1 rap! Thanks for watching! Comment below with more songs you wanna watch us react to and make sure to check out our patreon for even MORE Reaction Videos: patreon.com/BandHouseStudios
The music theory talk ended pretty quickly when the last verse started, lol jk. I like you guy’s sense of humor, editing, and insight. I would like to hear your thoughts on another dark hip-hop track, “Ballad of Worms” by Cage. Just subbed, sorry for messing up your sub count of 666, lol 🤘🤘 also the key change was a really Opeth thing 🔥
The chord changes are how you express 51/50 musically. "Going Crazy" I came to see people's reactions to this, but I watched you two and listened, and I want to recommend Ren all of it but start with Hi Ren. Then the tale of Jenny and Screech the 13 min video all in one reaction. Then enjoy Mackay off camera so you can add it to your playlist... Then, the Money Game trilogy in 3 parts will be fine and help create content.
You should check out Ren. "Hi Ren" is a good jumping off point. Think yall would bring an interesting perspective to an artist that is gifted musically, lyrically and theatrically.
The most important line, as far as y’all were hinting to, is “his corruption had successfully changed his fate.” Another is “right there he knew what it is to empty and cold.” Is the old age ‘careful what you wish for’ theme that is symbolic to all of us even in different circumstances.
@@yaboyrams9500 He most defenetly puts himself at the left wing. He is peruvian, when we in south america go to the left we dont tip toe arround it. And yes it is very logic and very moral to be on the extreme left wing.
Actually your wrong and couldn't be more wrong he's been on record many times saying he hates all government he doesn't like either side stop baiting and saying things stupidly without being educated on what you say
It’s cool they used a tri tone. If I’m not mistaken the tri tone used to be called the devils interval. If the producer did that on purpose that’s insane
@johnf817 I've watched way more than than 30 and I swear I've never seen it and I look for it because the shifts are so ominous and telling of the direction that the story is turning to. I'm not saying you're wrong or lying. I just think it's crazy. More crazy now that you've only watched 30 and I've watched probably 100 or more. Lol
"Who was put in a real bad situation" Correction, he put himself there, his choices ultimately lead to his demise, both physically and mentally/emotionally becomes colder with every dark turn he chose to make in life.
I love how nerdy u get about the music, rhythm and key changes etc. im a producer since 2010 and i can totally relate. U guys are on another level on these reactions 💯🔥
You're both too young to remember the sample used in that song. For us old folks, it's immediately recognizable as the theme from the 1970 blockbuster romantic tear-jerker movie, "Love Story". The sample is from the Henri Mancini Orchestra version: th-cam.com/video/XFVaBgKhSxY/w-d-xo.html
He grew up in Harlem during the 80s and 90s during a time that was notoriously rough in New York City. Technique says because of the way he grew up, he harbored a lot of rage and eventually, that rage led him to prison. He was incarcerated for a year while he was in college, for assault-related offenses
When it comes to musical background of hiphop producers i think it mostly is self taught. I feel like kanye sums it up with the lyrics "You can't fathom my love dude Lock yourself in a room doin' five beats a day for three summers That's a different world like three summers I deserve to do these numbers…"
Refreshing that you didn't get fixated on him saying he was there and took it for the symbolism and message as intended. Damn near everyone loses their mind about him not being in jail or something similar. This thing is a pure masterpiece.
Supposedly it’s a story his cellmate told him in jail which was the reason he was in jail for, and he wasn’t afraid of telling it bc those that participated in the act are dead, but it confuses me bc at the end of the song he very well says it was him and the devil is always there at one of his shows which would make no sense if it was not really him that did the deed
Shakur was born on June 16, 1971, in East Harlem, Upper Manhattan, New York City. While born Lesane Parish Crooks, at age one he was renamed Tupac Amaru Shakur. He was named after Túpac Amaru II, a descendant of the last Incan ruler, who was executed in Peru in 1781 after his failed revolt against Spanish rule.
If you guys are getting into horrorcore y’all should peep brotha lynch hung warning tho his stuff is fairly grotesque at times but his flow is crazy cuz is from south Sacramento deuce nine Garden blocc Crip ♿️♿️
Bro, I've watched a ton of Tech reactions, especially this song. At no point in time has anyone, EVER, stopped it in the middle of the song to point out how he looks like Cheech. That's hilarious. Thumbs up just for that. I paused at that moment and wrote this comment, I have a feeling these guys are going to have a hard time with this one, I guess I'll see
For me the redness was with indica inside. Outside I had to smoke 6 in rapid fire for red eyes but one thick one inside or hotboxed and my eyes were red as fuck 😂
Depends how much you smoke and in what space. If it’s a hotbox you are very likely to have red eyes after a few. Or if you ain’t used to it then it can come very fast 😂
The redness comes from your eyes getting dry from the smoke so yeah , if your in hotbox they will be a lot more red . not sure of the science behind it but it shows up more in dark skin people
Great reaction. I’m subscribing off of finding this. I think you both would love the Lovely Thing Suite Collection by Watsky. 4 songs that all tie together. There is a music video but on a first listen I would recommend just listening to the collection for a first reaction - there is something about the imagery that invokes the imagination so it’s worth visualizing it yourself.
Pretty sure the producer is not technically trained... He probably meant to make that switch but he probably doesn't know much about chord progression...most boom bap producers are people experimenting with samples on their mp3s .. some get better at the technical aspect..others stay in their lane.
okay yall took band we get it u know the technicalities of music but yall talking over the lyrics which is the reason people tune in for this specific reaction 😂
This was such an amazing reaction. The breakdown was insane. Piece of advice. Do the Harry Mack reactions. The community needs reactions from a musical perspective that I know you guys will love to react to. You won’t regret it I promise.
Kind of late, but the change in keys was probably done on purpose to break your attention and think about the verses and words or grab your attention for the next words coming. This guy is very smart and does everything with a reason behind it. I grew up listening to this guy, this took place in the 90s a different time from now where this happened all the time. And it did happen but not him, he knew the guys and they all died so he made the song. I've been to his projects. Now it's wayyy different. But yea it was hilarious how your expressions changed when it got real. Lol
I don't know you guys. And this is my first listen to you. But if you're listening for Hip Hop songs to make Classical sense, stop. This is a genre that began without using instruments at all. Just records. And a great DJ could take 2 twenty second breaks(same record on two turntables) last 15 minutes. This is not any other music.
As good as this song is, I hate that its Technique's most popular song. You Never Know, Obnoxious, The Third World, and Rich Man's World are all absolute fkn bangers.
What is their technical musical background? Likely little to none. They are he, and he either made the beat himself and thought it sounded cool, or a friend made the beat. They probably used a drum machine, some turntables for samples, maybe a computer at that time. I would be stunned if they had any idea what you guys are talking about technically back when they made this
maybe not 'technically' but ARTISTICALLY they do & i'd say us who studied music technique wish we could 'learn' artistry. most beatmakers i'v known, when they add a layer, they visually see where the sound can fit &/or they dance to what they wanna hear & add sounds by tapping their fingers on keys/mouse to the beat that's moving them, & AGAIN, i'd say that's what those who study music theory wish they 'felt'

It's amazing how they almost nerded completely out of the song but as soon as shit REALLY went down, there was just silence and listening

Bro asking about weed sounds like my mom 😂 “don’t you worry about diabetes from this the munchers you get?” Uh you mean munchies😅
“I relate to this song so hard” oh no lmao
Hahahahahaha
Famous last words.....
The most important line, as far as y’all were hinting to, is “his corruption had successfully changed his fate.” Another is “right there he knew what it is to empty and cold.” Is the old age ‘careful what you wish for’ theme that is symbolic to all of us even in different circumstances.
I wish i came up with ‘careful what you wish for’ theme in the video. Thank you!
Immortal Technique is a left wing actually far left wing guy but he’s definitely not a Democratic Party guy.
Don't even need to ask brz 😃

This is the first reaction that notes the musical changes. Kudos.
Haha it's such a change!
No its not lmao I've literally watched at least 30 reactions to it
@johnf817 I've watched way more than than 30 and I swear I've never seen it and I look for it because the shifts are so ominous and telling of the direction that the story is turning to.

So happy to see a reaction that pays attention to the key changes, imo its one of the most chilling and underappreciated parts of this song
"Who was put in a real bad situation"
Correction, he put himself there, his choices ultimately lead to his demise, both physically and mentally/emotionally becomes colder with every dark turn he chose to make in life.
the third act reaction is GOLD
We shut up real quick lol

haha thanks! and we learn tons from rap fans in thee comments! Thanks for the kind words!
That ending sobered bro up real quick😂
17:26 the start of the facial expression
18:14 the moment people who know this song are waiting for
18:55 the other moment
"You Never Know" by Immortal Technique. Love your vibe guys, and commentary.

Oh wow! Love that. I thought it was a classical piece or somethin. It's perfectly haunting for this story!

Subbed! Loved how you gave me a perspective from a music standpoint that i never realized even though I’ve heard this song for over a decade
Awesome! That's what it's all about thanks.
You never know by immortal technique would be a great follow up would be interesting to see how you guys breakdown the backing music in that one too

He was named after Túpac Amaru II, a descendant of the last Incan ruler, who was executed in Peru in 1781 after his failed revolt against Spanish rule.
Both Rakim and Nas come from parents that were Jazz musicians
That's awesome! Makes sense. There are notable similarities
The piano is a sample from Henry Mancini love theme from the 70’s… this is one of the best raps I’ve ever heard!! Story telling at its finest… x
He was really dressed as cheech. There’s an interview where he says he was performing Halloween night and he wore the cheech costume.
This song falls into one of hiphop/raps sub genres called horrorcore it tends to be more gruesome and eerie
Horrorcore sounds like a metal subgenre and I'm here for it
