I spent 4 hours on the upper kings on Sunday May 19. I was able to catch 3 Rainbows & 3 pikeminow. I saw you about a year ago on the Lower Kings in the catch & release section of the river. Wanted to tell you how much i enjoy your videos but didn't want to interrupt you.
Thank you for watching my movies. Let’s enjoy happy fishing life. May 19th. The river got more flow than when I fish, you did really good job at such high water.
Kind of an interesting lure that you got the first fat one with. Is that specifically for downstream? I’m more used to finishing minnows upstream or across, but I see you throw downstream a lot
Super cool fishing in that high water. They fixed the road to Garnet Dike? Haven't been able to fish there for 2 seasons, miss wild Kings River rainbows. A question, how many ounces are those lures you use? Trying to use equivalent weight of streamer on fly rod over there. Thank you for sharing.
No, the road to Garnet Dike got worse since last winter, seems not plan to fix. However, still able to hike even upper from Garnet Dike to 2nd Pine CG. When I fish, the flows are like 3000. Heavy lure weight 8.5g (0.3oz), Bottom Knob Swimmer 6.5g (0.22oz). And light one is 3.2g (0.11oz)
@@Angler216 With that high and fast flow, that makes sense to use that heavy lures. I hardly use more than 2 grams split shots on fly nymphing. Will give a try using big and heavy streamer in future.
I was up there in mid-March and there was a massive rock slide that destroyed the road about a mile(maybe 2) from Garnet Dike. POSSIBLY could have hiked past/around the slide, but I had a full pack and my dog with me and would have had to use ropes (previously installed by someone) and didn’t want to risk it. Has the slide been removed as to ease the hike in? Any update would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Love your videos dude.

@@theman23162316 no they have not fixed slides when I was there.
I do not think it is easy work to fix as before.
So we had to pass the rope.
What type of rod are you using height and brand
Please check out movie description, I have explained all outfit I use. Thank you.
Nice one, with the smallie, 😊, how often do you catch those smallies at Kings River?
Almost every time I fish there, I get at least one smallmouth bass like that size.
Are you using a light BFS rod or is it an ultra light BFS rod?
I usually use UL rod. But in this movie I use light action rod for higher/wider water river.
ryuki spearhead?
It was a nice outing. You were using heavy lures. It was much easier with a spoon for me.
