    Heavy Falling In Reverse vibes from the melodies and the catchy chorus which then turns into the sick breakdown. What a killer song!

    • @habijjj
      @habijjj 2 ปีที่แล้ว +32

      I mean they essentially did what falling in reverse did they did 1 album that was different from what they normally do because they wanted to. Then all of the songs afterwards went back to being heavy as shit. People need to learn that sometimes an artist will do something different and its ok to not like the album. What isn't ok is being an asshole about it like people hated that album with a passion.

    I mean, I have been a huge fan of ADTR since the beginning, its the same thing with Asking Alexandria, when you listen to the previous album you can hear the personality Jeremy put into the songs, it's definitely a journey when you listen to it, but they delivered big time to their harder roots which I always love but I don't hate when band try something new too, Of course we love the hard stuff that's what we love! But music is just a feeling and a vibe, and their previous album brought that too. ADTR is a mood brother! good review, I felt the same way hearing this!

    • @metalblakedowns
      @metalblakedowns 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nah we ain't thanking BMTH. Usually, your comment would hold true, but the heavy is NOT a trend we're thanking BMTH for. Survival Horror came out at the very END of 2020, there were MADNITUDES of bands going heavy throughout that entire year. The genre was already heading in that direction before BMTH dropped.
      Like are we just going to ignore Polaris, Make Them Suffer, Kingdom of Giants, Within Destruction, The Ghost Inside, Alpha Wolf, Loathe, Tallah, August Burns Red, Bury Tomorrow, Currents, Spiritbox, Darko, Hollow Front, The Acacia Strain, Fit for a King, Currents, Chamber
      BMTH are usually trend setters, but going back to heavy was not one of them

      @@metalblakedowns bruh ABR is my all time favorite band but nobody is copying them hahaha. BMTH are the trendsetters. they went soft, everyone went soft. they got slightly more heavy, so did everyone else. i’m not saying they’re the standard of “heavy”, but when they go a certain direction, it lets everyone know that it’s safe to go in that direction. it’s just what it is 😂

      @@joshgibson7978 I'm not saying anyone copied ABR, but I'm just saying BMTH didn't set the 'heavy' trend
      Yes they're trendsetters, but this isn't one of them. They were later to the party with it
      If you wanna talk trend setting from Post-Human, it was the Linkin Park sound that a lot of bands are doing now. That's what came out of that record if anything AND the electronic combination. Mick Gordon's sound kinda thing, after PH, Mick Gordons been all over the metalcore scene. They set that trend as well

  • @PleasureToGrill

    I feel like it's always the same formula over and over again: Enter the song with a heavy banging riff, then the chill verse that climaxes in the chorus, repeat, build-up for breakdown, breakdown, final chorus, maybe short reprise of heavy riff. I don't have a problem with this in general, since it's just the standard ABABCB formula of music adopted for metal, but it's so frustrating that after entering the song in heavy mode they all decide to cool it down. What about just keeping the energy up?! Chill parts are great to catch your breath again after slaying it to the first half of the song, but their function as counterpart making heavy parts even more heavy loses effectivness as soon as they're used too often in a song. Those bands are giving me such a hard time by doing so.

      @@tokiwartooth8542 Totally makes sense, that's what I'm talking about. If the melody line of the chorus and the heaviness of the breakdown are the only things worth wondering while listening to a song, it's just not enough. Take Electric Callboy as counterexample, their songs are pure energy from start to finish, and it's not just because of the synths and the wigs.
