    Any other 'Back to Basics' videos you guys would like? Maybe an updated brush cleaning one, or difference between prosaide and silicone adhesives? Or different removals for different kinds of prosthetics (gelatine vs foam vs latex vs silicone removal)?

    • @littlesweetrocky
      @littlesweetrocky 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I would love to see you do some basic sculpting techniques, like how to create a fatty texture, skintexture etc. Doesn't have to be a full sculpting and moulding of a wound you make a big tutorial of, just sculpting clay ❤

      Definitely a video on the differences between adhesives and also their removers. I also think a video on the ins and outs of quick latex mask making as well as how to properly vulcanize for strength afterwards. A lot of people are also ill informed on the differences between latex. Such as viscosity and ammonia concentration.

    • @NREnger
      @NREnger 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I know from watching othesr that a good one to do and that most are uninformed of it is the differences between adhesives and also what removers to use for what. I once saw lady trying to pull of a prosthetic with prosaide on it cause she thought it removes just like latex. Scary moment. Removal (proper removal) would be a very good one.

      Removals would be great. It feels like I never really get pros-aide all the way off, especially from my eyebrows.

      A video on glues. And in depth removal would be fantastic. I feel like it's loosely touched on in a lot of videos, but it's so important to any prosthetic application.

    I’ve been subscribed to this channel for about 4 years, maybe more, and it’s so refreshing to see how far you’ve come! I remember in your early videos you sounded unconfident and unsure if what you were doing was right, but you had such incredible talent. But now? You’ve gained so much confidence in your abilities and narrating your videos and tutorials and it’s so nice to see how far you’ve come. I’m glad I subscribed to you all those years ago! ❤️

    Your colour theory and technical videos are the best. I don't do that much special effects work, but the great thing about your technique videos is that they can be applied across mediums, from makeup to illustrations.

    It’s incredible how much of a difference those really light washes of color make. From what I can tel alcohol activated paints are like the holy grail for achieving super realistic skin tones. You really make it look easy but lol I think we all know it takes much more skill . This was super helpful though!

    • @Freakmo
      @Freakmo  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah honestly being able to do translucent washes helps so much, and with lots of practice you can get quicker with working out what colours each skin tone needs to match, and the spattering can cover areas super fast.

      Freakmo 😁 Thanks so much for replying! I LOVE watching you’re channel. So inspiring & you’re so immensely talented! From what I see, they’re invaluable in creating the most realistic looks. I’d love to see a transformation into like your fav actress or something. Creating creatures & fantasy stuff is amazing but I think it would be a great thing to see you capture another person You know? There’s less room for creativity but being able to nail it would be just another testament to how amazing you are!

    Hi,
    Can you make a video on how to cover tattoos with the alcohol palette? I have heared this is one of the best ways to cover tattoo but I have not been successful in this so far.
    Love your channel! Keep doing it!
    Thanks in advance!

      i think she has done that before, altho i can't remember if it was only with alcohol paints or with pax paints as well.

    • @Freakmo
      @Freakmo  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, there's a little bit on that in a tattoo covering video I did a year or two ago, showing just alcohols vs just pax, then using pax as a base and alcohol paints on top.

    It’s nice seeing detailed demonstrations of what seems like such a simple technique. Seeing someone playing with the variables is v.helpful. Thanks!
    As for suggestion, are there any techniques that are specific to water activated paints that are worth sharing?
    Ps. Love “going ham”! Going to have to use that in conversation 😀

    hi! i know i’m EXTREMELY late but do you have any recommendations for cheaper alternatives for alcohol paints? I just recently started SFX (mostly for fun) and I cant find good, cheap alcohol paints. I don’t want to spend $90 on a palette if i’m not going to use it ALL THE TIME or professionally. Any recommendations?

    Could you do a video on the different paints you'd need to use for different materials? So Pax paints, silicone paints, cream, even acrylics or whatever is used for fabrication? When to use what, what you can use as a base so you can paint, like a guide! Your videos are very informational love them

    I have seen a lot of videos on alcohol paints.... But none of them show trying to use on different kinds of prosthetics.
    I have tried to use some alcohol paint on gelatin prosthetics, and it seems to be almost impossible!
    Every time I wet my brush with more paint and try to go back to the prosthetic it takes off what I have previously put on.
    How do you add more color to an area without the alcohol removing what you have already done.
    It's cool if you're spattering but using the brush normally seems impossible.

    What do you mean by silicone that isn't sealed? i just bought a silicone prosthetic from Nimba creations and their perfect 2.0 pallet of alcohol paints. I've also never used prosthetics in my work before. Should I be doing something to the prosthetic prior to painting on it? Thanks.

    How do you clean the brushes afterwards? Can you use the same brushes for alcohol makeup and regular/water activated makeup?

    • @Freakmo
      @Freakmo  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I usually just use 99% isopropyl alcohol and a paper towel, and spray and wipe until it comes out clean, then to sanitise them between people, I'll use 70% iso alcohol spray and wiped.

The first time I used it, i spattered all over the place 🙄🤣 you can even remove each pan of the colors so you can customize your pallete

      I haven't found any companies that make colours that I like as much as the complexion ones. The complexion palette is hard to find here in Australia so I often have to import my palettes from the USA - Frends beauty and camera ready cosmetics have good international shipping.

    Can I put alcoholic paint directly onto the skin ? Is it waterproof then ?

    • @stevenpuckitt212
      @stevenpuckitt212 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you can put it directly on the skin. Just avoid the eye area as dripping alcohol on your eye is unpleasant. It is waterproof and will require makeup remover or alcohol to be taken off the skin. In a clutch it can probably be scrubbed off with soap in water, but it's easier with the proper tools. I use isopropyl myristate as it removes pretty much everything, but doesn't dry out the skin.

    • @Freakmo
      @Freakmo  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      yes and yes! It's the best. It flashes off (evaporates) super fast so the solvents are only on the skin for a little while.
      If you're fully airbrushing a whole body and multiple layers, it's definitely best to have some form of air extraction or a fan and an open room, and if the person is being coated in alcohol paint to the skin for multiple days/weeks/months, it's worth it to put down a barrier cream or foam first to protect the skin (something like Dermaguard) and give the skin a break every few days if it's becoming too irritated/dry.
