    Removed my pump and when installing new i pulled off new pump after having it barley installed to try again due to snug and my crankshaft fell far down. I struggled to get it and the pump back in by turning the crank as I was pushing the pump on. I’m running still low oil pressure around 4-6psi. Looks like rear bearing bad? Front bearing looked good. I also seem to lose oil out discharge some.

      Based on what you stated and the crank falling far down, it sounds like your crank might be cracked at the main bearings.

      Thank you for reaching out. The main reason for wanting to change the oil pump is that the compressor has either low or no oil pressure. There can be a bunch of causes for this condition with one being that the compressor lost some lubrication from liquid washout and caused damage to the oil pump. So one solution to this is to change the oil pump and see if that corrects the oil pressure issue. If this does not correct the issue, then the lack of lubrication increased the clearances most likely on the bearings and the connecting rods, and you would then need to replace the compressor.

    hello, sir good morning how to determine if the oil pump has a problem?Thanks.

    • @NationalCompressorExchangeInc
      @NationalCompressorExchangeInc  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you for reaching out. You would not have proper oil pressure. From that point you would nee to figure out why you do not have the correct oil pressure, but you would need to inspect the pump and most likely have to change it. If the oil pump has to be changed, you will need to find out what caused the pump to go bad, as you would have a system related issue.

    If the oil in the engine always runs out, what is the cause, and if the engine always stops because of the oil pressure control when the oil is full, do you have to replace the oil pump?

    • @NationalCompressorExchangeInc
      @NationalCompressorExchangeInc  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      First, the reason you could potentially be losing oil are the following: worn piston rings or cylinders, or rear main bearing is worn or both. That is to say if it is happening consistently. There could be other reasons as well but too too lengthy to explain all. You need to make sure the oil pressures are in the proper range, but a bad oil pump will not cause the oil to leave the compressor.

    how do i remove the oil from a compressor like this?

    • @NationalCompressorExchangeInc
      @NationalCompressorExchangeInc  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you look below the oil pump you can see a plug in the bottom pan, that is you best location to drain oil.

    Both LP and Oil Pressure were same pressure, mean oil pump problem?

    • @NationalCompressorExchangeInc
      @NationalCompressorExchangeInc  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, that means there is no oil pressure.

    So how do I pull the pump off when it will not pull off as easy as this one did for you?

    • @NationalCompressorExchangeInc
      @NationalCompressorExchangeInc  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are correct, they do not all pop off that easy. The best way to remove it when its stuck on there is to get a scrapper and lightly tap the scrapper in between the pump and the casting. You might need to do it in a few spots, but after you get some clearance, you can then place a slightly thicker tool, such as a screw driver or pry bar and carefully insert and pull toward you. You want to make sure you do not scratch the casting as it can help facilitate a leak.

      @@NationalCompressorExchangeInc I was able to separate the pump from the compressor body easily, however, it felt as if a snap ring was holding the pump. I was able to get it off with a little prying like you mentioned. Got it off and found the drive segment was annihilated, like it had been hammering. What causes those to recieve so much damage?

    Hello sir, I have the problem with the carrier 5h 120. I've been installed new beraing head end for one package. Included oil pump , unloader stemp , hydrolic relay . But still problem. There is no load.

    • @NationalCompressorExchangeInc
      @NationalCompressorExchangeInc  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for reaching out. What is your oil pressure? Also, when you are adjusting the unloading have you checked your control oil pressure? If your net oil pressure is under 12 lbs, you will not be able to achieve loading.
