- I like Vang Vieng, Laos, and I like this hotel. Here is my review.

I remember being there around 25 years ago. The tubing was an absolute gong show. There were bars right along the river where you could buy any kind of alcohol and most drugs. They had dangerous rope swings and cliff jumps all along the river. People were dying there almost every week until they finally cracked down on it. What a blast though!!!
Haha.....I was there around the same time in the dry season. Namsong (?) River basically not moving at all. High as a kite on 'shrooms, flopped out stationary on some tire tube for what may have been hours in what was essentially a giant puddle of green algae, sewer runoff and buffalo diarrhea...before I finally became coherent enough to think "Perhaps I should start paddling?" I'm an old turd now, so will probably never do that type of thing again, but fun (and disgusting) memories nonetheless.

Eddie I stayed in Vientiane and Vang Vieng recently and I was also blown away by the views of those mountains. I always enjoy Laos when I visit. Great vlogg and lovely hotel review👊 keep the videos coming mate✌️

Luang Prabang…. Lovely town…. There is a golden stupa or chedi at the top of a tall hill in the middle of town….Phousi Hill……. with an AMAZING view of the town and surrounding mountains and river. Especially beautiful just as the sun is going down..or is it as the sun is rising?
The town is also known for beautiful temples with lovely interiors.

Outside is nice but if you have a nice home in England in comparison hotel rooms are terrible.
Also, you can get sick of the hot sticky climate and not feel the changing seasons of beloved England and feel the bracing cold fresh air

Why do you do a quiz where we can guess how many times you say “very” in your vlogs.
LOL.....A few videos back I started doing a sip of whiskey and coke every time he says "very", but I think I will have to abandon the idea, as at this rate I fear I will have cirrhosis by the end of March.

You mentioned when you got back to your hotel room that it’s about 4:00PM. So you had an early lunch, drank couple of bottles of longnecks while livestreaming.
What do you do for the rest of the day? Obviously you don’t go to sleep at 8:00PM since you mentioned that you never wake up before breakfast time in the hotels. That hotel is very nice indeed for 29AUD, breakfast also looks pretty good. Here you can’t even get a night in a crap cockroach infested motel room for that.

Not if she is a Lao National. The penalties can be her going to prison without trail. Fine to you is between $500 to $5,000 plus deportation & possibly up to 1 year in prison. So you not going to get any Lao girl who will go your Hotel room.

Hi Ed, Those electric scooters (2:40) don't require a licence to ride. See a lot of school kids getting around on them in Vietnam.
I actually saw a couple of school girls come off them yesterday when I was on a bus! I hope they are okay.

Compare to west this is good value but when locals earn minimum wage at 100 dollar a month this price is outrageous. The profit margin they take from this food is too high
If you can afford it like Eddy obviously can and bloody enjoy it and the locals make a living then it's happiness all around!

Hi, Eddie, welcome to VV. May I recommend Falcony Pizza for a good feed here, just across the road from Nana backpackers hostel. Good knowledge of English language and food.. My favorites are full English breakfast and spaghetti garlic & cheese. Glad you're enjoying your stay.

I cant see the point of interest in this country. You go on about the mountains . Those are little hills we climb in a day . Try the Rocky Mountains in Alberta . 😂 do you remember your trip to Peru ? Now that is a beautiful country . Any country in Central or South America is better then this .

Grubby, trash everywhere, rampant development with zero concern for the environment, some of the scabbiest tourists to (dis)grace SE Asia. Among the crappiest air quality in the world for 2 or 3 months of the year - you can already see it in this vid of Ed's. It will get even worse between now and May.
I won't return....with the new high speed train, it is very easy to skip the place altogether now - just head straight on to Luang Prabang.
Correct it's a shithole getting worse everyday, and it looks very smoky, maybe it's burn season in that DUMP
