Keep going eddy . Just returned from pattaya 4 months bumped into you soi bukhao. Eddy I had bad holiday got salmonella then the heatwave hit pattaya was unbearable with all the pollution glad I back home mass tourism ruining pattaya like to see you discuss.this. cheers eddy

Eddy is looking for a place to retire and settle permanently. Same with me. I spent a total of six months in Thailand and Cambodia. Definitely going to settle in that part of the world and live my last years there. Definitely won’t return to my home country of Canada. 🌴🌴🌴 🙏🏼 ☸️ 😃 ✈️

It really is a hidden gem. Loved how nice/clean your cheap hotel was. Also, no visible trash. No xx-girls. Young crowd is a good sign for future. Wondering how is their healthcare. Enjoy.

it used to have a really bad reputation ten years ago until they brushed all the drunken young nuisances out, looks like they done good.
Very much agree Eddy about travelling later in life, me and the missus had children really young( too young)so never done much travelling without the kids, so we’re in our late fifties now and giving it a bloody pasting since we were 40 😂everywhere out that way seem to play our type of music and as far as I’m concerned you can’t beat it for a great night out, few beers good music and great company in the sun ,keep it up mate 👍

Great video, Ed, Vang Vien is a lovely town and it seems clean and safe, too w/good bars and nightlife w/o craziness, horrible sidewalks, potholes, trash thrown about, street fights, & crime found in so many other places. Where too, next? I am wondering whether you will one day decide to settle down and either live in a hotel longterm, or lease an apartment or condo, somewhere in time to come - when you come upon the ideal spot for you and your needs? Keep writing the great novels, as I can't wait to buy your next book when she gets released on Amazon! Take care & be well mate, best.

When I first went to Vang Vieng there was none of this. Every building was wooden, there was a few 'reggae' bars and hole in the wall bars. It was still full of young people partying and plenty of ladies of the night there. It was brilliant.

Ed, have you tried the beer Lao IPA yet or just the yellow labelled beer Lao bottles??? I see there seems to be about 5 different types of beer Lao. Looks like a nice laid back town BUT I,d like a few more mature tourists around too.

I think this town probably was just like Pattaya 40/50 years ago a quiet sleepy village with a few bars in it, with me saying this I can guarantee the trolls out there will be quoting this that and the other.
Looks far better than Vientiane the Capital .

Eddy, nearly all 20-30somethings I know also cannot stand to go to noisey hectic nightclubs. Most just go to bars of all age groups anyway. Stop worrying about your age mate. You are not OLD. Your mobile, healthy enough for arduous travel and as far as I can see, you have your marbles. Just stop bleating on about everywhere is for younger people. I have also been to same place and it was full of 20-60 year olds from what I could see. Dont start moaning about your age now
