    Honestly the simple tip of just "not really using your left side of the joystick" made it sooo much simpler.. Of course to master directional air roll you will need to make small adjustments on both sides but this basic tip actually made me realize what im doing right and why i get confused. 10/10 dude, first one of 30 videos to actually help me with directional air roll (clap)

      Despite what it looks like, he fails at it. Simply saying (and not even explaining why) to use top-right input to turn right and bottom-right input to turn left is full of inaccuracies that can be very misleading: 1) these inputs don't work if you're a right air roller, you gotta do the opposite of the origin point ; 2) this won't work if you don't say you have to press the input only at the start of the spin, that mean when the car back is either facing you or the sky ; 3) you need to keep boosting during the input, or it won't work ; 4) how long do you keep the directional input? the whole duration of a spin? if no one teaches you how this crucial part works, you will quickly lose control of your car and ragequit the learning.

    • @JoshMarthinusen
      @JoshMarthinusen ปีที่แล้ว

      Can you explain the 4th part of your comment in a simpler way?

    • @Assassunn
      @Assassunn ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JoshMarthinusen When your revolution is at 0% it's when you have to make a choice of directional input, if you keep pressing this input until 50% of the revolution you have turned the maximum possible (there's a more complex concept called reversed clock explained very well by the Losfeld method that allows to keep turning in the other 50% left of the spin). Of course if you're not boosting during the directional input you won't be turning.
      You can adjust the turn by keeping it less or more pressed during the start of the revolution, for instance I chose bottom-right directional input, I press it until 15% of the revolution to turn slightly to the left if I'm a left air roller (about the %: you can see it, later feel it, or even count because a full revolution lasts 1.15s).
      Chosing the good input directional (we admit there are 8 and not an infinity) is useful too, for instance (left air roller) the input of the right side of joystick will make your car nose peaking to the top, so that's good to keep control, but it's useful to know that the left side inputs will do the opposite, going down. A 0 to 50% revolution input of full RIGHT will make a controlled turn to the right, most of the time you want to go onward so you would pick a TOP-RIGHT input, but a TOP-LEFT input can be interesting if you want to turn slightly while going down.
      A revolution is a spin of your car. All I said about directions is for left air roll button that must always be kept pressed btw. If you use the right air roll you have to pick the opposite direction (bottom-right becomes top-left)

    Idk if anyone is gonna read this, but im writing it anyways:
    I havent really seen any youtuber talk about this, but i'm currently learning directional air roll and i got 1 major tipp. If you are on PC you can use bakkes mod (or for console game modifiers in a private match) to slow down the game speed (in freeplay only ofc) .... i have 4 speeds i use, 0.25x 0.5x 0.75x and 1x ...
    i used the 0.25 to learn the most basic aerial spinning, only steering when my hood is facing me (the camera)... when i got a few stages on lethamyrs rings map with this, i moved up the speed to 0.5, and so on....
    after that, i did the same with when the underside of my car was facing the cam....
    then you can also do the sides if you want, i should have done it probably, but didnt want to :D
    then i tried to constantly steer in 0.25x speed.. dont matter which face is facing me, putting it all together...
    thats the stage im currently in... i still often blackout, but this will come over time.
    hope i could help anyone with that... that really helped me understand the movements.
    ofc you can also do this for dribbling, flicks, airdribbles... but be careful, the car movement speed is hard to judge when in slower gamespeed, so it might not be the best for some situations to learn it that way

    Relearning how to aerial from regular air roll to air roll left/right was the most difficult mechanic due to relearning the skill and the confusion that comes with. At the time videos like this didn't even exist (before this video even existed). But many months it has paid off immensely.
    My tip? Do leth hoops map and only directional air roll for hours and maybe do training packs. I don't do training packs so it took longer for me to be viable with it.
    My next hardest mechanic is speed flips because it's essential at c3/gc1 😢

    • @P4nem___Et___C1rcenses
      @P4nem___Et___C1rcenses ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have air roll left and air roll right bound since the beginning but I never use just air roll. But I think most pros have only one direction of air roll bound and then just the normal air roll like he's saying in the video, so now I'm literally learning in reverse. And I absolutely hate it to such a degree that I have to ask myself if this is still fun.

    • @landonpratte846
      @landonpratte846 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    the joystick tip of not needing to use the left side at all to turn your car is the main reason I have such a hard time with this, no one in any other video tells you "hey if you're air rolling left don't use the left side of the joystick to turn." that tip fixes everything yet no one ever tells you this. bottom right is left top right is right ( I may have mixed those use but you get my point), that alone solves the majority of my issues. I can aerial just fine, but have next to no directional control since I had no idea how to pivot mid air accurately and no tutorial actually told me, except this one.

    I've recently started practicing air rolling, both directional and regular. Watched a couple of vids from different people, but your video stands out, and I'll most definitely be using your tips, aswell as some tips from this comment section, because quite honestly I suck at air rolling lol. Sometimes I don't understand how I'm in Champ 1 and still cant even air roll in my matches besides freeplay. Would love to see some more tutorials on different mechanics and how to improve at the game. On another note, you vid was not only informative, but also quite entertaining aswell :D
    Litterally thought you had 100x the sub amount than you actually have, and you gained a new sub nontheless. Keep up the good work dude!!

    Coming from Spook's, Thanovic's, and Wayton's air roll tutorials (shout out to all of them by the way) I'd say this one is the one that helps and motivates me the most. Cheers.
    Only question is - when "adjusting while continuously rolling" does this mean always remaining aware of where to push the joystick based of where my car is facing? And being able to adjust accordingly at any point during the spin?

    Peaked GC2 and never knew spinning while aerialing was faster. Great vid and great editing!

      It's not, he says it's the same speed as not spinning at all. It's just faster than tornado spinning

    regular air roll is an inconvenience to KB and mouse players , bc you need to press shift+A or D but if you use air roll left or right you just need to press one button which are Q and E, in case you use the Q button use only the buttons S and D to make micro adjustments and all this info was all thanks to comically bad who is a youtuber and KBM player like me. I hope I explained well and did not make any mistakes.

    Been using only air roll for like 500 hours now. Decided to just now change to air roll right which I know is stupid but thank you so much for this tutorial.
