I have been gc since OG season 7, and it still amazes me at how well some people can break down a mechanic nowadays. I remember watching tableboard tactics and learning rocket league literally from hotwheels on a piece of paper. you'd think it was troll but back in the day it was good advice lol
This is the best tutorial out there. I been able to triple stalls for over a year but struggled with rapids. This helped me finally figure it out in a good 2 hours of practice
Finally! Genuinely wish there was a channel made specifically for high level players and their mechanics because unfortunately everything is usually only beginner level and I've had to guess at what certain players are doing. Appreciate the video! Geting multiple resets with the quarter cancel always felt better but I never put together why.
Once you get good at resets, the breaking, or the direction of your setup starts to not matter the further you get better at them. For example I'm sitting around the 1700 range and I rarely brake on my setups for resets or any aerial mechanic really.
I was going to say this. I’d prefer it be taught to not brake, as I feel that as you get better, that’s a habit you will have to break. As you progress it gets faster paced, and getting to the ball quicker is more important than lining your car up, so I think it’s better to teach that initially rather than making it a little easier to do with braking. It also helps you get a little more car control to learn it this way. It’s certainly something I wished I did when learning!
@@balladin9200 not necessarily jump into the ball, but rather jump directly after hitting it without braking on the wall. Sometimes you can jump into it, depending on the setup. It all trial and error though!
@@witeblocko idk man I still think braking is useful because you can tap it really lightly and jump immediately after. Trust me I get the reset early as fk with braking fast and just half a spin and reset on the preferred wall. If I go any faster to it I'm not getting the reset unless I wavedash reset because we can't air roll that fast. Still see majority of pros brake even with someone challenging
@@witeblocko idk man u can just brake really lightly and jump immediately after trust me I get the reset early never when the ball's falling. Any earlier and I'm not getting a reset because we can't air roll that fast unless I wavedash reset. But it does depend on the setup wether not to, but I still see majority of pros brake
This helped me so much with trying to get multiple resets because I would keep holding air roll when trying to flip into the ball and the tip that you gave me is helping much more with my consistency.much love
I learnt how to double rapid reset on xbox one s and getting a few in C3 2v2. If i could do it, you can too, dont give up, its not a “click these buttons in this order” mechanic, like dribbling the ball on top of your car, its dynamic and what you need to do changes for every reset you go for, use a single setup in a training pack to reduce variability in your shots, this gets you used to what a flip reset should be like, once you get it down on one training pack setup, use a different training pack setup, you should notice you can get flip resets on the different training packs quicker, then you can go in free play and do setups in there and get it down for real.
Just started playing rocket league. This game is so different and unlike any other, I can’t think of any other game where you can watch a video on how to game tutorial and still be nowhere remotely close to doing. Most games, the mechanics are basic enough that you can learn it and be doing it pretty much perfectly everytime, within a day. I have like 100 hours on the game and am just learning to boost up in the air and hit the ball in whatever direction it chooses🤣. Most games you don’t need to learn 1-49 things before being able to do #50, you can just jump to #50 and learn it. Rocket league, you need to learn all 49 things in order before being able to even come close to #50. Im watching all these videos and im like that’s sick, I’ll be sure to do it…months from now. That’s just my opinion, although i do practice doing stuff im not even close to doing in free play for hours and training packs levels ahead of myself. You can’t learn what you don’t try and practice makes perfect
this is helpful for getting started with flip resets. however, as someone with okay mechanics i was disappointed to see that it only really covered three more basic resets, and nothing advanced. having a less misleading title and thumbnail would have been appreciated as i felt like it was a waste of time for me personally, but, as a video just teaching you the basics, it was very good!
Another tip, one thing i and other content creators found in the setup for multi resets is to get the first reset on the opposite side of the flip you would be using. For example if your on the right wall, you get a reset on the left wall and diagonal cancel flip right and vise Versa.
Correct me if I am wrong but I am missing 1 thing: To get the first reset consistently and be able to do something with it it is often better to not exactly be parallel to the ceiling as you sometimes flop under the ball. I often find it helpful when I tell people learning flip resets to have the butt of the car a bit higher up than the nose, so you stay behind the ball and dont overtake it.
One point I would like to add. If you are like me and use air roll left, it is much easier to use a diagonal flip to the opposite side as it will flow a lot smoother. For example you said to use 1 o’clock - 8 o’clock, whereas using air roll left it is much better to use 11 o’clock - 4 o’clock.
OSM thank you so much for this vid. Ive been trying to get consistent with dub resets, and just recently picked up stall resets trying to do the normal ones. I really needed this extra help, so i feel like now im about to peak. Love your work man, keep it up!❤
Ive been doing resets but felt i was really inconsistent despite the amount of practice i was putting into them, so i search consistent flip resets and realised that my set ups are all over the place. The brake tap feels super unnatural but i'm sure it will really help in the long run
My feeble old hands are unable to actually air roll around after getting the reset - that's my problem. I get the reset - and if I don't use it immediately, while the car is upside down, I'm totally unable to connect with the ball. I'm not as young as the general playerbase is, and my brain just melts trying to actually master this mechanic. Great tutorial but I wish you could spend a little time talking about how the actual roll and boosting following the reset could be done, to properly align with the ball :) I have uploaded my training progression in a bunch of videos on my own channel, but I don't seem to actually get much better at it :/ Still, great content, OSM.
Good video , but i felt like it had more potential to include different setups, like from the opponents corner, which i personally find easier. Perhaps also show off more complex resets like the backflip reset or maktuf reset.
Guys, the key is how to rotate the car once you achieve the first reset, you can see that the car is all time facing the ball and tbh that's the most difficult part to do multiple resets
Amazing video learnt how to flip reset wayyyyyy better. However if i am not wrong to get more consitent stall resets, you have to have a higher deadzone because most people have have deadzone of 0.05 because of most pros using that deadzone
I find that if u match the speed of the ball and jump as u hit the ball u don’t need to break, in game scenarios it’s rare to get a free set up so in those situations I do break but great video I’m c2 btw
Yo what's good settings for movement to achieve this easier? Mine are both set at 5 and DZ is 0.09 and I'm on console? Any help with sensitivity and camera settings would be much appreciated mate! 🙏👍
I was so confused why my flip resets didn't work like i could double getting in the right position was hard now that i know to brake i can heli reset and shit. Thanks a lot
Sometimes when I get a reset the ball stays right in front of my car. Other times it bounces off hard. Sometimes it bounces off hard when I barely make contact with the ball Is there like different contact points or angles for different ball reactions? It can’t only be the speed your car hits the ball That has been the hardest thing for me. After the reset I’m always in a different rotation or distance from the ball then the last reset
Ya same lol I simulate it by letting off boost and then last minute click the boost to tap the ball further away before jumping off wall. Still can’t reset 10/10. More like 4/10 shots
@@jeffcoutre2913 Sounds like me lol... i do the exact same thing... most of the times i can get a solid setup but still its not good enough. Keep up the grind

Id do an overlay too tbh but not bc of analog sticks, which could vary bc of the deadzone a lil but rather for the inputs pressed
