I get anxious when I feel mine get into the 120s, this dude was averaging in the 160s and went as high as 200. I would have been shitting myself if I'd have noticed that!
This is some of the best pov of any wheeled sport I've seen. I like the variety of body styles and the speed differentials are like Le Mans. 60 kph looks terrifying!
Congratulations !!! How much distance did you travel in total, at what average speed, how much does a vehicle with a cyclist weigh and how much energy did you produce in total in kWh? Many thanks in advance. An Italian greeting from France.
Bonjour et Caio. We completed 113 3.41 km laps in this race, so 385 km in 8 hours, 48km/h average which includes 5 pit stops for rider changes. Our average power was something like 250-300W (we spike 700-1000W out of corners but we also coast into the sharper corners at 0W). Did you mean kWh? That’s pretty unusual for cycling but yeah given those numbers we produced something like 2 - 2.5 kWh.
Very impressive. Vis into low sun through the plexiglass looked a bit dodgy. I was a little nervous about you shunting the invisible craft in your blind spot towards the end - not pretty at those mad speeds! Thank you for putting this up - quite the achievement. Cheers - Dave
Thanks for the comment Dave, and for watching. Yes visibility is a challenge. Most screens running here are actually PETG, which is cheap and easy to work with... But scratches easily. We ran this screen a little beyond its lifespan, especially for this race which finished approaching twilight. We fixed that for our most recent race though
@@UnhingedHPV At least the profile from the rear is narrow - much smaller targets! That's part of my spiel when people try to discourage me from riding my motorbike (have only been riding for about 45 years!). Thanks for taking the time to reply - much appreciated. I look forward to seeing more of your action! Cheers, David
Do you mean how the whole bike rocks side to side? We can get a little torque steer (kind of, as the rider leverages off the steering for power) and we can get a little flex in the frame.
It's impossible to keep track of what place you are in because you eventually begin to lap slower cars, and faster cars lap you. It's a lot of fun watching the action, but it would be even better if you had your place was shown on screen. I know that would be hard to, maybe impossible.
Thanks for the feedback, each racer has a transponder and position per lap is tracked, check back on our channel and we'll try add this to future videos :D 😁
Powerful event ... 🤔
The atmosphere is literally palpable 💪
😆
Thanks! 🦵
Man that is some seriously scary heart rate!

Thanks for the great feedback :D the thrill of racing so close to the ground and other competitors under our own power is exhilarating!
I would have preferred an external view haha. But I understand that's difficult with aero
Impressive!
Thanks!
Congratulations !!!

@@UnhingedHPV yes, I meant kWh as the amount of human energy produced. Thank you very much.
Il pilota si vede in curva! 💪
I'm sure somewhere there's a guy who put a turbo Hayabusa engine in one of those.
The power to weight ratio would be incredible!
14:10 One guy changed discipline to ballet :D
Haha, your comment reminds us of this absolute gem of an old advertisement th-cam.com/video/DWMnKGi2uFA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=BuOzgRhGFNTFkMfy

I am surprised at how much it rocks side to side with each stroke.
Oh ho, that last cyclist was effing fearless.
Owning every corner and letting it all hang out. !!

He was giving it 100% at the end, and sad he had an incident too
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
👍
What are you using for the overlay?
This one we used software called 'Telemetry Overlay'
Guys, you got blown apart off the start line.
Ah you're right it was very cautious
Ganz toll
Danke! Freut mich, dass es dir gefällt! (Wir sprechen kein Deutsch, also hoffen wir, dass die Übersetzung Sinn ergibt!)
Alles gut 😊❤
you win ?
We didn't win actually, the winning team was another level above us with 124 laps in 8 hours, we were down in 7th with 113 laps
Do you have music playing on headphones?
A lot of us train with music from earbuds but our rules don't permit them during racing
@@UnhingedHPV No way that's a bit mean but I guess you could not hear someone alongside you
@@edwardharris9810 That is why the rule is there, we contemplate taking a speaker... but try to keep the weight down too

Webber, were you actually missing something?
Missing more performance?
most useless sport ever!!!
Take your meds you spazz
