Can’t believe this came out 10 years ago. Incredible energy. Still the best live video I’ve ever seen. I think about it on a weekly basis.
Agree. Wish I had of been there.
This video lives rent free in my head
That tight-as-fuck-transition from Master Of My Craft to Borrowed Time. Well done lads.
exactly! also the one at 9:08
you know a band's good when ppl say, "you know a band's good when..."
They filmed in a Bicycle shop. And they made 'Stoned and Starving'. I'm 61 years old, love my rock and this tagged me from a jukebox halfway across a crowded pub in North Wales. Brilliant stuff.
Rob Crossland Yeah, Bob. Don't forget to crank Sleaford Mods!
Here in South Wales at 17 rocking along to these bangers myself too!!
Here in Cardiff doing the same!
... AND here at a motorcycle repair shop in Los Angeles and
same, cheers!
where in north wales? its usually a musical wasteland!!!
didn't want to scroll down

Kevin Suggs is one of the best audio engineers on this planet
Holy fuck I love this band. They're young enough to be my kids and they do the most damn exciting live show I've seen since forever. Haven't danced so hard in a mosh pit in decades.
This concert turned me into a PC fan. It's only after a couple of views that I realized how great the shooting and mixing is here. KEXP sets a new standard for live recordings.
I really love the change from Master of My Craft to Borrowed Time, it's Genious and furious, I love it!!!!
Absolutely amazing isn't it, every time I listen to the transition between master of my craft to borrowed time it always blows my mind. Absolutely iconic.
This is one of the best live performances I’ve ever seen. Starting with “she’s rolling” was an excellent decision
Absolutely clean and so punk at the same time. Clean stratocaster, telecaster and mustang bass for a true punk music.
That energy is enduring. Solid and potent. Pure rock and roll.
seeing them tomorrow can't wait for the space between master of my craft and borrowed time.
how was the show
The instant transition from Master My Craft to Borrowed Time is brilliant on the album and live. I suggest everyone hear it.
Rock and Roll will never die, awesome set.
This has so much essence of what rock and roll is right, like I just wanna blast this so loud
@@hippiecheezburger5457 I do.....
This is the best live footage I've ever seen for a show, I feel like I'm watching a scene from a movie
Been watching this since it was posted... 10-years ago(!?!?!) The energy still gives me chills.
same
Me too
even though i love most of every parquet courts' album, i really think this is one of the best Parquet ciurts live
00:05 - She's Rolling

08:13 - Borrowed Time
10:42 - Donuts Only
12:00 - Yr No Stoner
15:42 - Yonder is Closer to the Heart

20:00 - N. Dakota
23:00 - Stoned & Starving
And this is why they had one of the best albums of the year....
in love with this band
💖💖💖💖💖
The perfect drummer. Just keeps a low profile but is always in the pocket.
he is on a separate plane than the other three guys.
I don't even really know what that means, but yeah, i totally agree.
It amazing that he can fit his kit in it.
He makes it all work. Without him, they would just be clever.
His tone is just fantastic too
SOCRATES DIED IN THA FUCKING GUTTER
As the years have gone by I’ve just realized how good Parquet Courts really are I mean even when they first started, they have some real rock and roll stuff in them
"I work as a bike delivery boy back in NYC..." The hard truth of being in an indie rock band nowadays.
BillyPilgrim lol trust me my bands just finished going round the uk while but still worrying that I’m not gonna make my shift at wlrn
yeah, In fact, he distributed drugs in a bicycle
Props to the 2 guitarists rocking cheapo squier Guitar’s!
yeah it’s a total myth that expensive equipment is needed to make good music, squiers are legit
@@slayerattack3751 for sure. I have a tele squire and I used to have a Stratocaster before I sold it at a low point in life:( Sure you can tell the difference when playing each one but you can make the same great music with either, as proved by parquet courts here.
Whatever it takes
do you know the model of either of their's
@@lukastaylor9544 Affinty Tele for A., Squier Bullet from the 1980s for Austin (which have gone up in price, probably bc of this video)
I really like the mixing on this, you can hear at any point any individual instrument but they blend perfectly at the same time.
They definitely remind me of the band Television. love these guys
The crowd cheering during the pause in borrowed time lmao
their tones are awesome
Just discovered these guys, they are unbelievable
I love this live soooooo much! Can't get enough of these songs.
All their songs are so unique. No other band sounds like them.
They’re like the strokes somewhat like a real simplistic garage rock sound butttt with smart lyrics and viewpoints
@@hippiecheezburger5457 Lol, I guess they are a bit like Strokes but I dunno what you drank before writing the rest of that...
@@hippiecheezburger5457 They're a lot smarter than the Strokes, the only thing they have in common is garage-rock and even then they still sound different
Velvet underground, Can, Faust, Television, Pavement, Modern Lovers
Sand In My Joints by Wire is pretty much Parquet Courts decades before they came onto the scene, there's definitely bits in that song that sound similar to what they can come up with - that being said though I love PC so that's not a bad thing :)
This band is taking my soul!
Such an incredible performance. Love their transitions. Fan!
Saw these guys in LA this summer and it was the best show I've been to this year!
this was the performance video that truly enveloped me into this band and every song they wrote from this point onwards
Slays me how good these guys are.
Seeing these guys tonight for the first time. This video brings back great memories. Can't believe it's been this long since Light Up Gold.
Love the awesome guitar jam at the end!!!
The bass sounds greatttt
love this band!
The feedback and dueling guitars is flat out top shelf !!
Damn! Savage is playing a Squier Affinity Tele, that's cool!
This is amazing
Not sure if the crowd is clapping during borrowed time after each stop because it's cool as fuck or if they just don't know the sing.
Saw these guys in Boston. They were AWESOME.
Saw em last night in Davis CA and it was a damn good show. One of the best indie rock bands out right now!
Masterpiece 9 Years ago.
And PC's getting better and better.
The sky is the limit
saw them live last night and they killed! One of the best shows i've seen. Go see them live if you get the chance you will not regret!
contageous! love it.
Best thing I've heard in some time.
This band is giving me flashbacks of 1980, nice!!
The stops in Borrowed Time had everyone jumping the gun
Amazing
Super Banda!! Congratulations from Mexiko!!
Damn right. Quality is insane.
Spoon-length songs, but even shorter. The shorter the better. My favorite band now after about fifty listenings. Seeing them in Buffalo in June. Haven't looked forward to a concert this much since I saw the Ramones.
unbelievable !
Very very good set wow
Good shit. Haven't heard anyone do this in quite a long time.
Great band!!!!
This reminds me of Eddy Current Suppression Ring :)
It is good that you know who Eddy Current is. One of the greatest bands ever to come out of Australia.
Finally a great band with a big pavement influence,
Honestly, all the transitions are fantastic; it’s just that the Master of my Craft to Borrowed Time is supremely sublime. Like you are breathing in one song and breathing out the next.
so so so soooo gooood
For all the haters and jerk-off reviewers slamming this band, please list rock and raw bands that you think are worth listening to
Clickbeetle Fucking truth right here
I love these guys and also Protomartyr
That blend into Borrowed Time is so dope.
What a great set, in a bike shop no less.
I remember reading about this band, though I could not remember its name. Luckily, I am subscribed to KEXP, the best thing ever.
so many comments from people who have clearly only listened to the first song and base their opinions on that solely.
Truman Lee me either, i find it pretty annoying
GREAT
good stuff!!
Uplifting. Been listening to PC on Spotify for a couple of years and found a few minutes to fire up TH-cam on my big TV with the beefy sound bar... Amazing sound & presence of this band. Great location & production. It really feels like you're there... wish I had been and wish I could play guitar too ;)
This is really well shot. I mean like really good. I feel like I'm there and something more.
that bass though
Oh fuck yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. first time ive heard these fellows. Now I need more..............
Fucking love this set. I always come back to watch.
Sensationell 🥳💥💥💥
Pretty timeless, best rock band operating today IMO!!!
カッコいい!!!ありがとう~
Who knew a bicycle shop would have decent sound?
+Johnny Deutschemark KEXP enginieers never got the love they deserve.
man, these guys are so fucking cool
they're so arrogant; nobody can master minecraft.
very punny of you
I was thinking the same thing!
i hate you
I heard the same thing lol
damn it, now I can't not hear that
Liked them so much at Pukkelpop. Looking forward to seeing them in AB in October.
Can I just say, insane "break-up" music, thanks guys you've been top notch for me and my old man for quite sometime now. If only we had, had standing tickets at the roundhouse!
Second hey, he mastered his craft not the videogame.
And the third one they go straight into some of the finest pop punk ever heard.
Peace out dawgs
23:00 Stoned And Starving
melodic treble chaos all seems to work we salute you allways been a fan of cheap guitars i have real ones too
Lotta Texas representing in Parquet Courts... great job, boys!
That's exactly what I've been marvelling at!!! As soon as I'm done listening, I'm calling my old high school buddies to tell them, "Fuck it, guys. Let's do this. Cheap and hard!"
I hear the early Stranglers! Love it. Looking forward to see them in Groningen the Netherlands in oktober
Yesssssss
That Yr No Stoner intro is great
One of the best bands around... that sound, i can hear influences from Fugazi and some BJM maybe... Hope you'll play in Italy soon !
Super groupe vu à la route du rock 2017 à Saint-Malo
cant fckn wait to *mosh* to this at the pitchie this summer
LOOK AT THE CROWD FOR REAL. OMG
I've never seen such a good band ! More expressive than Black Sabbath, Guns ans Roses, Slipknot...with Squier Guitars !
What a fucking set!!!
Lead singer looks like a stupidly young Thurston Moore, and that's before hearing the playing. This is like the band I've been waiting for, for years. It's like picking up where Television left off, and I for one wlecome it. There will always be something timeless about trashing a guitar around the place, howling songs about streets, slackers, skinny knees and chubby girlfriends :D
