It is great to be 57 years old and yet I feel like a 19 year old kid discovering Sonic Youth in 1982 ,or Johnathan Richman and The Modern Lovers in 1977,or Pavement in 1991.I can BARELY suppress the urge to get up and Pogo.7 minutes and 18 seconds of pure bliss.
dennis chary you summed up exactly how at feel when i discovered this band at 45
+CCTXHR3 43...
+dennis chary You gave me goosebumps. Thank you.
+dennis chary I am 53 and i LOVE this band and this vid really sums up why. Totally charged. Who ever said that great music has not been made since the 70's must be brain dead.
+Krasnaya Voronushka I do get tired of critics overpraising Led Zeppelin,or Pink Floyd,or The Doors, among many other "classic" icons at the expense of more modern artists who have often eclipsed their 70's influences.
can't believe the lead singer cloned himself so he can play drums too. amazing
it's his brother ahaha
I thought they're twins at first, they just look so similar
@@johndotcue 🤨😁
That’s funny, but dudes got serious chops in my opinion. I’m so stoned and starving rn
I love the spazzing bass player juxtaposed with the 1000 mile stare drummer. AWESOME fucking band. Seeing them this summer... FINALLY! I will be stoned & well-fed.
So rock and roll does have a future
Don’t ever let any age one is determine what you listen too. You can discover great music your whole life!!!! Rock on Denton Tx!!
Punk is the best genre of music. And this song is just incredible.
My favourite version of this song
I am now happy with music and life again...this is a great sonic survey marker for all to reference. Thanks Parquet Courts!
Great energy and one of the best messy guitar solos ever. What more could you want? Fantastic!
This is a really great band and they give me hope for the future of rock music
I have literally done what the song describes when I lived in Ridgewood, Queens. Good days...
This is freaking fantastic...And I'm 61!...
early pavement lives on and through- love it
You nailed it Bobby. Was the same for me - first couple of seconds in I could tell this was a keeper in my library. Nice to hear more old guys like us still rock. I'm 60 and lovin' it!
52 here and am fired up about this band I just now got turned on to.
...my god that was brilliant!!!
love this track, then discovered their back cater-log .....wow.
One word. Yes...
Absolutely terrific and so consistent
that "solo" hits everytime. so fucking rad.
If you have a solid rhythm section, you can do anything you want.
I LOVE THIS SONG! SO STONE AND STARVING!
Out of key? This is the real deal. His guitar is in an open tuning. You're allowed to break the rules when you know what your doing. This is cool. Enjoy.
What? He still gets out of tune a lot of times in spite of having an open tuning
If you are a donkey You are a donkey no matter if Open or standard tuning. I like this band but saying that guitarrist is the real deal is bullshit. You want cromatism and out of key craft listen to Mansur Brown. You are welcome
@@federicoperez4373 dude take one listen to the lyrics, the bassline is one note, the rhythm is one chord, the riff is just repeated throughout the whole song, the studio version is also 'out of tune', its meant to be that way..
@@federicoperez4373 wow, that was cringe....
@@tokyosmitsubishi stfu pussy boy
This is fucking beautiful

Was so fun. these guys smashed the festival republic stage!
I love this song!!
proof a band can rock on Squire guitars! PROPS
Holy crap....it's 2021 and I just heard this song for the first time !
Excellent. This reminds of The Modern Lovers song "Roadrunner."
Yes. Thank you for making real music.

Terrific sound! I hope they visit Pittsburgh soon!
+Mark Grago tonight at Spirit Hall!
I heard this song today on Sirius XMU and immediatley fell in love. I gotta huge Sonic Youth vibes especially from the guitar solo! Love this song!
sounds like "eddie current suppression ring" from australia to me....love it
+ross smith I got on a plane 5 years ago for the sole purpose of seeing ECSR play 3 nights in a row and I'd do the same for PQ
This version kicks ass.
KEXP never fails to amuse me
The most underrated song of 2013
Wish I'd known it in 2013 - only discovered Parquet Courts in 2019 a few months before seeing them live
cool in all its facets
such good stuff
I sold my blue fender squire because I didn't think it was cool. How wrong was I?
id rather to chop my balls off
first guitar I ever had. Cousin gave it to me and like an idiot let my artist friends paint all over it haha.
Ho, Ho, Ho. Watched this on Christmas Day. What a great present!
Great stuff.
Qué super rola!!! y qué buena interpretación!!!
SI!
this is great.
love it
PCs are like lou reed and sonic youth's love child. love this song.
holy shit, sooooo good!
I love how Lou Reed-esque this song sounds.
Oh hey, it's real music. And there're good.
To add to the list of bands the Parquet Courts reminds us old fucks of...
Gang of Four, Television....
Full power to this day
love the squier xx
at last..my faith in good music is not lost..
I like this.
Nice. Original. I like it. A lot.
Really wish I was seeing them at Glastonbury. New album isn't to shabby either!
So good 🔥💙❤️💛
Génial !!
Feelies , Television , Sonic , Yo La Tengo m' entendez vous ??

6:13 When the music takes over
My Goodness . I've had bars and stuff..!!
They are up there my friends
A must
Genius.
I think these guys may have listened to some Sonic Youth as kids.... Great stuff!
Yaaaay!
i love how andrew always has this look on his face like someone is out to get him
Ridgewood, Queens is a lovely neighborhood.
this is very good...no-one else hear Television?
Wow! Great tune. Really reminds me of stuff off Daydream Nation by Sonic Youth. Gotta buy their album
HES PLAYING A SQUIRE WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT
Funny how people find it so hard to enjoy one thing without hating on another.
Class to say the least ,,,,
We win so fucking BIIIIIG. Fulfilled!
This is terrific. Shades of Jonathan Richman with a bit of Neu! / Porcupine Tree thrown in. What kIds and guitars were made to do. Lovely stuff. They've certainly got something though only a few tunes on the albums come anywhere near the sheer vibrancy that this track portrays so eloquently.
this band did the same for me!
Is that a squier? So humble lol
Steve Rothery of Marillion played a Squier Strat for years and he's one of the best guitarists in the world. Don't knock it ;-) I bought his stage #2 guitar and sleep with it, lol.
yes and I sold mine, what a mistake! Its a good guitar!
he still does play it! :)
Yes, he certainly does. AND he has a new #2, which I shall refer to as his #3 of course ;-)
mateo ospina Probably a better squire than the Japanese ones.Which I have and the action is so high.
Yes :)
These guys were just on Jimmy Fallon. Love the song. Lead singer has a great raspy voice.
Is it just me or does being New Yorker make U feel these guys' music even more?
this is just fucking phenomenal!
Cooll Full ...!!, frenesí de solos de guitarras; Lima - Perú.
Reminds me of the Feelies, too.
I was walking through Ridgewood, Queens
I was flipping through magazines
I was so stoned and starving
I was reading ingredients
Asking myself "should I eat this?"
I was so
Stoned and starving
I was scratching off silver ink
I was deciding what to drink
I was so stoned and starving

I was debating Swedish Fish
Roasted peanuts or licorice
I was so stoned and starving
I was holding some wadded bills
I was reading that smoking kills

I have a Bullet strat like the blue one but mine was black bought it new at a pawn shop in 2000 to 2002 it was my first electric and I still have it it is a good playing guitar and I like the neck and head on it and light body I have modded mine of course.
I was reading the Inner Game of Golf. I don't know how many muscles can be swinged with these tunes.
give LCD sound system some g riffs and this is whats conceived
samshamani dude you predicted their groove capacity and basically the whole concept and sonority of Wide Awake, congrats
very true
Hell Yeah!!! :)
muito bom
great groove, not a lot can match
I don't fully understand this, but I think I like it.
Großartig ❗️🤪
reminds me of tom carrol band mixed with Lou Reed. Diggin it
Napoleon Dynamite.
