That would be really cool, but shoot it's already prohibitively expensive for groups in the US who have to travel (ex California,) I can't imagine how expensive/difficult it'd be to get that off the ground for international travel
Wow man you're the best. Im a drummer in the Israeli military band and I've been watching your videos for a while and was always in awe of how fucking sick is drumline. Hope you guys spread the drumline and love around Israel. Much love man!
@@pyrorock8143 that'd be cool but i feel like maybe we should start with making Drum Corps *International* actually an international activity lol (Edit: spelling)
I'm from Costa Rica and our music education reality is very similar to Israel, we don’t have a quality music education in elementary/high school unless we enter in a conservatory or study in private and expensive schools that offer that programs, and the marching culture is just starting. And even with that we have a huge increase in the marching community in the past few years and every time we have the opportunity to having a marching teacher even for a day is priceless. I'm so happy for them watching this video and seeing that the marching movement is growing around the world, so excited for this drumline for have this amazing opportunity.
Woow this is soo cool!!! I am from Poland and since I started playing the drums, I have always dreamed that someone would start with such a project of American style drumline
This is one of my favorite videos from you Eric. This is an amazing opportunity for these kids to open up and learn more about music. Thank you for doing this.
I am very happy to see this project it brings joy to my heart! I'm also really excited because I will be a graduate conducting student at UD this Fall and will get to work with Professor Ancona and the symphonic band!
This is amazing. It's monumental to be able to unite all kinds of people, this is literally working for world peace. It's realizing we don't have to kill each other for having different believes, we just have to respect everyone. What a great cause you got evolved with, Eric.
What an amazing experience for you. And for all the members of the Peace Drum Drumline who were able to learn from you. So nice to see many young women able to participate in the drumline! ... Just made a donation, now that I see your pinned comment! 🥰
A very beautiful project! Music connects, rhythm synchronizes 🙏 Such an impressive example of the power of love and the power of love through music. "....a universal language"
If we are not able to give our time to help instruct but we still want to be a part of this amazing idea. Such as donate is there a way to help in that regard.
The steel pan song played at 2:29 was "world premiered" by my high school at GMEA. It's awesome to hear being played by another group. The song is called Terror's Tribute composed by Amrit Samaroo, but I don't know where you can get a recording of our performance.
This actually moved me to real Tears for a second. Every time a new Drumline is formed, an Angel gets a Pearl FFX and Mag-Vest carrier setup from the 90's... 😇😁 ...Seriously I know what it's like trying to start a new group that practices a different walk of Drumming- this subject is near and dear to my heart. Mad Respect to everyone that goes through everything you have to go through to keep this PEACEFUL and POSITIVE effort going in that part of the world! And the KIDS! Oh, the kids. They will learn and love the experience of putting down FAT BEATS for a crowd(and for each other!), not to mention the empowering feeling of Marching / Movement while wearing such sophisticated and modern instruments. Hats Off to everyone involved! 🥁🥁🥁
In my country (at least in our school) we never used Music sheets everyone had to learn by looking and hearing the ones teaching us I was an snare drummer and boy was it difficult to learn how to play it and remember no Music sheets we had to stare at our profesor’s hands to learn. Sorry for bad England.
Hey, let me help you. You would want to say your statement like this: In my country, we never used sheet music. Everyone had to learn by ear and from watching our instructors. I was a snare drummer, and boy was it challenging to learn the music. Remember, there was no sheet music; we had to watch our instructor's hands.
Never had the opportunity to march DCI. Was too out of shape and couldn’t afford it before joining the Marine Corps in 2012 but would say I have a high skill set with rudimental percussion. Went to some audition camps for Teal Sound and Boston Crusaders. Got offered a bass spot for Teal and don’t know if they were just being nice, but was told I’d have been offered a spot on snare with BAC had I been in better physical shape at the time. I have a period coming up I can take leave. Put me in coach lol.
If I played drums, I’d come volunteer in a heartbeat. I’ve been to Israel before and the kids (at least the older kids) are proficient in English enough.
As an Israeli, I just got back from a flight with an orchestra which I play at (We flew to Mid Europe Festival) and we talked about how the US has so much options of drumlines and Israel has almost no drumlines. I can't believe this coincidence!
Thank you, drumline could fill the void that is when playing drums at the conservatory, you'll get to play a triangle at the woodwind youth orchestra. (until you get to play a drum kit at the jazz band). btw, if i was a drummer i would prefer to march at Ukraine battlefield than to march in the Israeli summer. BYW, here conservatory mean a municipal place to learn various instrument and join the youth bands. I think in the US it means high end music academy IIRC.

First like, love the project!!!
A donation has been made!!! So happy that I can help continue this work. 💓
It would be really cool to see them evolve and eventually fly to Dayton for WGI Indoor in 10-15 years
That would be so sick
Yes
That would be really cool, but shoot it's already prohibitively expensive for groups in the US who have to travel (ex California,) I can't imagine how expensive/difficult it'd be to get that off the ground for international travel
Next year and they will compete in the highest class and win
It said the ages of the group are 13-22 so if there is a 22 yr old they would be 37 in fifteen years
I love how music is a language everyone can understand.
Music is the universal language
Unless that music is country rap. No one understands that c-rap.

Working towards getting drum corp to be an Olympic sport. One nation at a time.

Very nice. I wish them all the luck and success! They will do great things. I hope they will have fun doing it.
Thanks for sharing this story Eric.

Dude show them the movie Drumline! That’ll totally give them an idea of what marching percussion is really about!

Ooohh yeah!

A sad reminder of how religion divides people. Good to see people trying to overcome that.
How does one get a shirt from the pddl
I can’t teach and I haven’t marched drum corp yet but can I like go and play with them or some?
