@@Moonmoon-ws6jo I think anyone who knows even remotely how a guitar works should be able to deduce that. How that slipped by anyone at all astounds me.
i've never had a piano lesson in my life and within about an hour of using the 1-2-3 method, I successfully was able to play Liszt's Réminiscences de Don Juan. idk what you guys are complaining about
As a guitarist, I have to point something out that so many people don't mention: when tabbed out/notated, 1 is usually the high E string and 6 is the low E string. Not even the numbers are correctly assigned to the strings 😂
Yeah, i thought i was wrong bcs no one mention it. I'm still new to guitar, like really new (around 1 month) so im not quite sure about it until you mention it
Problem is that even if there’s more dislike than like it always get a lot of view. I don’t know how money work on tiktok but clearly it doesn’t work on yt. If you don’t like some content you just need to move away. Don’t click on the dislike button and absolutely no comment. It just give them money.
I feel deeply offended as a classical pianist but i have to admit it is hilarious people actually believe a single key can sound 4 diffrent tunes, same goes for the guitar strings really
Apparently, they never watched that _Simpsons_ episode where that nerd calls out that _Itchy & Scratchy_ episode for having one xylophone bar sound multiple notes. Also, fun fact: that bit was the source of the “I hope someone got fired for that” meme.
It might be someone who just got a guitar, knows nothing about it just picked it up and figured out a melody and thought it was cool and uploaded it. Why is it such a big deal?
I once saw a guy with an electric violin and speakers playing outside the store my mom and I were going into. I looked a bit closer and he didn’t move his fingers while the music sounded like different eighth notes were happening. The worst part is that my mom though it was so sweet to see a good player in our small town and gave money. I’ve been playing for 7 years.
Just pitch your C to whatever you like in your DAW of choice and suddenly it can be anything you want! That‘s the music industry today, if we‘re being totally honest.
ugh, you didn't know that? Looks like you haven't read music theory in Bach 101 (Please forgive me for trolling, I'm a fellow musician in training and I find this video unbelievably frustrating it hurts)
Yes. Those 5 min Craft videos are fake. Many beauty influencers tried them out, including the chalk hair color thing and makeup hacks and they did not work at all.
@@zacqueen Now now, let's not be too hasty. There ARE some actual working stuff in 5 Minute Craft videos (though some may take way longer than 5 minutes)... it is just that the percentage of actual working stuff is woefully low compared to their fake stuff. Actually it had gotten to the point where 5 Minute Craft themselves can't event recognize their own work 😆 They started some debunk videos claiming debunking Tiktok hacks but in actuality it was their own vid that tiktokers just transported over 🤣
@@SablePhantom Yep. Like, how can a how-to for peeling an orange in three different ways be fake? The avocado one only works for ripe fruit, but the ginger one (using a spoon) worked at least for me.
These violin scammers started popping up outside of stores around where I live post-pandemic. It is so sad to see children being used this way. I will never understand how a parent can hand their child such a beautiful instrument with the intent of teaching them to act immorally instead of giving them the gift of a music education.
The fake busker thing is happening in England too. It isn't just limited to violin either. Someone asked me if I was really playing when I was busking once so I unplugged my guitar and played something completely acoustic for them. As a busker who plays live music I can say that we don't mind being asked as long as you are going to give us a chance to show you it's real if you do. we hate the fakers too.
I showed this to my dad, who has been playing classical guitar for over 50 years and he cannot stop laughing at the guitar part! He says thank you for exposing such a scam and that you guys are so great to watch!
Suggestion for editor-san: whenever there is music playing in the background (like in the end slate), could you put somewhere what piece it is? Small, half transparent, hidden in a corner, but put it there, please :-)
I don’t blame the kid in the first fake buskers. His mom was most definitely the one who planned the performance, she’s the one holding a sign too. She probably was just trying to profit from this kids violin lessons, like: "I payed for the violin lessons, so I need to make profit!" She probably bribed him to do it, sayings things like: "But we are going to make money, I’ll buy you something with it!" And if she didn’t have to bribe him to do it, you know who he was raised by. And if you say that they need money, she can afford giving her son violin lessons, and speakers. Not to mention their clothes, makeup, and so much more. Side note: They probably used that audio, since there was a beat. So there would be an excuse to have a speaker there. The kid should be defended, but people are defending him for the wrong reasons. The mom is completely at fault here though.
it's scary what values kids are widely being taught these days from a young age. Nothing matters except money, likes, and engagement even if its fake or toxic . Being flashy and looking good is more important than practice and growth. It makes me reallly cherish twoset more for being popular while not supporting this stuff
i've been bringing my guitar to school everyday (back when there's no pandemic yet) and one of my classmates said he plays guitar and tried to play the "faded" song and he was soo disappointed that it didn't sound like it AND... he had the audacity to tell me that my guitar is not in tune.
Bro, that’s messed up. That’s why I won’t let anyone touch my guitar unless I give them explicit permission or if I’m teaching them how to play an E major chord
The people defending that violin kid scamming scares me, especially as a (visual) artist, art is stolen so much daily and there's never been a solution to it. And if the internet is teaching younger generations that stealing someone's work is ok, I can't even imagine the amount of art theft there'll be in the future
I mean, I'm gonna defend the kid. He's a child, a minor. There's clearly an adult with him, that person is the one where all the anger should be directed at. And I'm sorry, but the copyright music is the least of the problems here. The main question people should be wondering is why the hell is this adult using a child to busk on the streets. It's like exploitation basically, and is similar to the kind of human trafficking that often happens in first world countries. This isn't about stealing work, this is about why the fuck is an adult doing that with a kid, why can't that adult provide for the kid on their own, etc etc. These are the concerns that run through my mind when I see that vid, the music is like last priority.
@@xtwinni true that is a good point, I'm not saying it's the kid's fault, because they most likely don't know better, and it's true that the adult is at fault, because they clearly seem like a guardian / or have some kind of authoritative power and influence which should not have been used to gain attention or for their own profit. And yea you're right, manipulation and exploitation are bigger problems than art theft, however, I'm saying from my point of view as being a visual artist for years and have been on the internet, that I've seen art theft daily so it comes to my mind more often than probably some one who is like an engineer or something. Again I'm not saying it's the kid's fault, but the adult who is teaching these ideals and the people in the tik tok comments saying that it's ok, cause not only does this encourge art theft but the whole manipulation and exploition issues as people will most likely see it as a way to get some money without consequence or cost, and everyone knows that a lot people will practically do anything for money.
Well, maybe that kid himself agreed to such things, you can't know for sure. Anyway he is in that same age when you actually start to use your own brains. But if he was forced, then that isn't the case. And you know, the stolen music itself isn't the last priority because they make money from it and possibly teach the kid that it's the right thing to do
@@hrennvpalto he was probably pressured into it. i doubt a kid younger than 10 would find it fun to fake violin playing for hours. also he probably doesnt understand copyright lol
Yes. I have a sign on my piano saying to not touch the piano unless you are Mozart but ur not bcuz he's dead and if you bring food and drink near the piano Mozart will rise from his grave and haunt you forever
This is what I love about these two. They know what they’re talking about. Serious musicians care when crap is put out and fakes are put out and call it for what it is educating us all.
as a guitarist: that was physically painful and now I fully understand when you guys pause things to suffer because I just did the same thing probably ten times on each clip
Thing is, I like music but I'm really bad at playing. I do have a guitar here that I practice with from time to time. So when they showed the piano TikToks I knew it was fake, but didn't get their reaction. But then came the guitar ones. I think I haven't suffered this hard before. It's not like it's impossible to do this "content" either, if you'd play on one string.
I hate it, us musicians do all the hard work and go through all the ups and downs of learning an instrument, not to mention years of meticulous training, and these random tik-tok "musicians" get millions of likes without even playing the VERY EASY work they uploaded, honestly.
You're working yourself up over nothing, mate. All this undue recognition these fake musicians are receiving really isn't worth that much. In some cases these aren't even their tiktok vids to monetize. And those that do monetize them, well... you can pretty easily google how much that amount of likes/subscribers is worth, and it's not exactly a windfall. And as buskers, I doubt if they're pulling in more than a 50$ a day with their routines. And it's not sustainable. You can't keep up that same act in the same spot all day every day and make a fortune. They'll eventually get chased out of that parking lot by a security guard and have to hump their way to some other location, set up, and do it all again. Outside in the heat, with bugs, and annoying people and cars. Are you really jealous of all that? If so, you can always fire up TikTok yourself... real musicians are also permitted to use it. Get yourself out there and rake up those sweet sweet likes if it's so easy. As a real musician you can rest easy that you'll not be stealing anything or scamming anyone. But ain't nobody getting rich here with any of this stuff. They're scrapping by with their little show, and some people throw them some likes/looks and forget about them. After one or two videos they never click on them again. It's just fodder. It's not even the same audience who would ever watch real musicians video (because it's obviously fake), so it's not as though they're really poaching the looks from real musicians. They're scrapping up likes/coins from a totally different group of people... people who want a story and performance. It's not sustainable, lucrative or scalable, because as soon as anyone started making more than a few dollars doing it, and tried to take their act off the curb, they would get sued/fired/etc. What are they gunna do, sell out Carnegie Hall? Give a TED talk? Get invited to meet the president? No. This is just scavenging, and can never evolve to more than that. Don't let it bother you. As a real musician this presents no threat to you. The time you spend being concerned or bothered about it is the probably the only way in which it actually impacts your life/career.
Actual musician: will be vastly more satisfying to have a few intelligent fans than a million morons. Not as lucrative though... But also why I would never wanna be a radio pop artist.
I've performed the Harry Potter song. It makes me cry. I literally drove three hours to play for seven hours to master it before performing. And all the different pieces, and dynamics, everything, and they just draw on their couple thousand dollar instrument with sharpie and push a couple buttons like anyone can play it. It takes so much effort to actually play a piece well and truly learn everything to it! This just infuriates me as a musician!! Thank you for listening to my TEDTalk
These 'tutorials' get appeal becoz most viewers want easy shortcuts and have no basic music understanding. Laziness and ignorance. Perfect combo for mind-numbing content
I mean it probably plays off the cooking video dynamic. Making things that people *wish* they could make knowing that 99% of them will never try to make it. Probably these videos want to fool people who have never even gotten within 10ft of an instrument but wish they could play knowing that they probably never will or will take lessons and give up quickly because it’s too much work. That and the videos get algorithm traction if people comment saying it’s fake
TBH, IDK who the hell would even believe these, I have a really good relative pitch and have played piano for years, so it's unbelievable to see this shit happen and people leaving likes and positive comments. Yo, it's kinda scary, y'know, I just started to think that way more people are tone-deaf and mentally incapacitated than I have ever previously imagined.
As someone who's been playing the piano for almost 11 years now, when i first saw those piano videos, i actually threw up a little from the sharpie on the keys

What I dont understand is: violins are not cheap instruments. So if those fake players rly were desperate for money, why the heck did they get a violin if not for the sole purpose of scamming people? Sell the violin instead then. I dont know these people but I always get the impression that violin scams are from people who are not really in a situation of deseperation and poverty at all.

I think it's really important that Eddy pointed out these fake-playing scammers aren't just fooling their audience, they are STEALING other people's work. When you fake play to someone else's recording, that is theft (copyright infringement).
I’m a guitarist and I can say this. I feel offended that there are real people that think that playing the guitar is as easy as playing open strings a few times
I've been dabbling with the bass (like plucking it out occasionally), and the minute I saw that I actually laughed. It's so wrong. the E string plays an E, not 5 notes when open.
I am also a guitarist and I think my brain committed suicide. You know what’s funny. The first guitar video the guy plays high notes on the low strings. You would think anyone with a guitar would know the difference between low and high notes
The funny thing about the guitar "tutorials" is that when they number the strings, they number them in reverse! When you hold your guitar, the string closest to you is the sixth string, where the string farthest from you closest to the ground is the first string, with the other strings in-between following.
4:54 "I really appreciate his effor putting 123456 on the guitar". The numbers are in the opposite order of what they should be. The high E is the 1st string on a guitar
I just realized that after actually trying to tune my guitar, for the past year all I did was just playing random stuff on my ukulele on a single string. I'm so stupid

It sucks about the violin part, because I have seen a legitimate violin player preforming in public once, his whole family was there with him, too. Parents teaching their children to act immorally is not uncommon, at least not uncommon in the places I've lived here in the US. Granted, it's probably not uncommon worldwide, but to comment on what I've seen, I used to work a number of security jobs for different businesses and department stores. I've seen parents stuff merchandise in their kid's clothing. I've seen parents outright instructing their kids how to look for, and avoid, security cameras. And maybe in the grand scheme of things, a few people lose a little money from being swindled, or a rich business loses a couple hundreds dollars in merchandise, but the real horror is that kids are being raised to act in ways that will at some point land them in jail, or at least before a judge. It's just really sad to see that adults are actively raising thieves and liars of their children. I was shocked the first time I saw it. Tbh, I'm still a bit shocked every time I see something like it. It's a really terrible state of affairs.

The scam buskers also take money away from real buskers too, those who find out they're scammed are less likely to give money to any busker in the future.
Buskers should have to test for a license to prove their ability. I wish it weren't so, but it was harder (impossible, even) to fake busking ability back in the day.
I saw a new electric violinist playing in my city the other day, replacing a regular busker at the same location who I know plays real (the old busker sounds the same with electric and acoustic violin). It was tricky because this new busker clearly knows how to play. Her left hand and bowing matches most of the notes and has legit vibrato. I thought it was real in the at first look and gave her money for the beautiful music. However, after staying for a little longer, I started to notice small mismatches between her playing and the music. I felt being lied to, but was hastened to confront her because her case is different than the obvious fakers showed by 2set. She was actually playing the notes (or most of it). If you tell her to turn of the audio and play unaccompanied, she can probably do an excerpt with no problem. She just masked her likely flawed playing with perfect recordings. So it is more like lip-sync and auto-tone during live singing concerts? Wonder what others think about this.
Maybe she has a fear of failure or something. Still its sad to see that despite knowing how to play, you still fake it in order to sound "better". I think the beauty of performance is that you get to embrace the failures and imperfections so that the successes holds greater value
@@josefbaldisimo5333 as a perfectionist i might end up doing this, id be afraid to show people a play and have some failure, i avoid failure at all of might ever since i almost failed 3rd grade. Its a scary feeling and i feel like people heavily judge me. Anxiety doesnt get easily eradicated, but if she slowly be more understanding and open up more then she might act more realistically for herself as well to finally eradicate a long withstanding fear.
i think that ruins the idea of busking. busking is all about getting immediate feedback for your work-whether it's good or bad. if all she wanted was to showcase her work, she should just record it and put it on youtube. when a person busks, there is an unspoken agreement between the musician and the audience: i put my heart out on the line for you, and if i'm good, you'll let me know. to me, it's more like watching a stage play vs watching a tv show. if i wanted to see a perfect performance, i'd watch something that was filmed and edited. audiences go to see a stage play because they want to see how the performer acts live, and the performer gets the gratification of a live reaction.
As a Classical/Jazz Violinist, I’m so glad you guys made this video because recently, I was driving to the grocery store to get some food for the house. When I parked the car I saw an electric violinist playing pop songs that sounded like a MIDI file/karaoke track. I saw a sign that said my father is poor and we need money something like that. I never seen a man wearing JORDANS and playing an ELECTRIC violin for a bargain. When he played Just Give Me a Reason from P!NK, I saw his bow sliding to the fingerboard, his vibrato was off, he needs to fix his bow hold, his money is in a cup on the violin. Not to mention, he even played on a rest on that song. It’s just so embarrassing and SACRILEGIOUS that a young thug is fake playing IN FRONT OF A GROCERY STORE. So help me PLEASE DO NOT fake play an instrument that children and beginner adults can see this as an absolute reality.
I just wanna point out that there is no correlation between your clothing and how much money you have. They might be the only piece of expensive clothing they have. If people are fake playing an instrument is because we have this shitty mentality that to receive money you need to offer something, so simply putting there the sign wouldn't give them any money and they probably need them.

I’m learning piano and it’s so annoying when you learn a song and perfect it, especially if you can improv the right hand and it still sounds amazing and a TikToker walks in and is like “Bro I could learn that in five minutes- *pushes you off YOUR OWN PIANO, and proceeds to play a simplified industry baby, missing every other note and playing with only one finger.*” (Especially annoying if they think they are better at piano than you)

As a pianist , i can't describe how i feel about ALL those people who were like "oh so i can play this with only 3 keys ! Amazing" And for the guitar "pieces" even I who isn't a guitarist can smell the shitty things like , they played 3 different notes in ONE string ? Wtf 😭😭😭
I've played trumpet back when I was elementary school, and even I can smell the lies. Mainly cause I make a little bit of music on my free time, I gotten just a little better than the average person at telling notes apart.
I play viola and flute over here, and even without much piano or guitar knowledge it’s so easy to see the fake ones. like mentioned in the Harry Potter one, they literally had 4 different notes on one key. and I think mostly with guitars, you’re supposed to strum multiple strings instead of just plucking. one thing I can confirm about the guitar is that they had different notes on one string similarly to the piano. really hope that people can acknowledge these are fake, but the fake violins imo are hilarious, especially when their bow hold is wrong, something is off timing, and even worse when the hair isn’t even touching the string, just the wood.
The harry potter one just hurts hell all of them are playing in the wrong key. It's supposed to higher not only just in the middle why just why and 3 notes without any sharps damn. Their piano must need fine tuning I'll be concerned if my piano sounds like that
The funniest part to me is when they show them strum the low E string and what is actually playing is a fretted high e. Like it's just so absurd to watch
Many of us non-musicians can only hear if the pitch goes up or down. So we are easily fooled by demonstrations that show the wrong notes being played within that limitation.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. John 3:16, 17.
I've recently encountered someone doing a violin scam once before actually. Back in August, I went to a store and someone was "playing" on their violin to gain money, but then I saw there was moments where in reality, she wasn't actually playing anything and she even disconnected her Bluetooth for it lol I understand that people sometimes do what they have to for money, but the lack of moral and throwing away your integrity to do so is so much worse..
I am a self taught pianist for 3 years now and I gotta say these videos are probably the worst way to learn like not only are they wrong they can get you're pitch confused if you watch the video and then start playing the instrument.

Yeah!
Buskers should have to test for a license to prove their ability. I wish it weren't so, but it was harder (impossible, even) to fake busking ability back in the day.
4:18 this one has got to be the worst of them all. It doesn’t look real even if your ignoring the notes being wrong
Can’t like this enough. Musicians take forever to master their art and these scammers need to be exposed. Thank you twoset.
I think that's still cheating...
Maybe she has a fear of failure or something. Still its sad to see that despite knowing how to play, you still fake it in order to sound "better". I think the beauty of performance is that you get to embrace the failures and imperfections so that the successes holds greater value
@@josefbaldisimo5333 i think that's what is it. Like OP said, she knows the note but sometime it not match, and that's exactly what she afraid.
I just wanna point out that there is no correlation between your clothing and how much money you have. They might be the only piece of expensive clothing they have.

Many of us non-musicians can only hear if the pitch goes up or down. So we are easily fooled by demonstrations that show the wrong notes being played within that limitation.

I think that most people can hear that in a lot of songs there are more than just three notes.(I play trumpet myself so I can't speak from experience)
