  • The ancient masters wrote, "when the eyes arrive, the hand arrives" and "intent moves the energy, and the energy moves the body". In this way, our mind, body, and energy fully moves as one.
When you learn to move powerfully, effortlessly, and beyond that, harmoniously, do you think you'll feel the same lightness of being that other Tai Chi masters feel? And when you do, how will your life feel different?

I noticed that when you punch him your heel comes off the ground.
Would you say that one foot is rooted and one is empty?
I know that in Tai chi you can move from a full foot or an empty foot.
It seems like in this case you were moving your weight forward and then one foot became full and the other foot became empty.
What looked interesting about this is that your heel came off the ground similar to a boxer where is often I've noticed that Tai chi people will step forward with the back foot and then they will throw a full punch from Roots but in this case the root was in the opposite foot of the side of the body you were punching with.
    Like a boxer

Yes having one foot bearing weight and one foot empty allows you to maintain the capacity to move with spontaneous agility, which is very valuable to boxers. And for this demonstration of momentum transfer, it allows for the full transfer of momentum in a natural and comfortable way. Your heel don't necessarily have to come off the ground, nor must it stay in the ground. Because we are not necessarily pushing with our feet. We allow the shift of our weight to flow through our body, completely into the partner's body. Good observations from you and thank you for commenting and asking! 🙌

the balanced energy is rested with time as it was before?

The main key is: 1. The body relaxes allowing energy to flow. 2. The mind directs the energy. 3. The body flows with the energy. The energy flows, but the body rests. I'll make a video tutorial of this process!.

I never understand Why do you see people bounce or skip back after they are hit with the internal energy

@@tomrocs When you are affected by Tai Chi's internal energy, it causes you to tense up in a way that's bouncy. And if your balance is disturbed in a certain way, you hop. Just like if our legs trip over something when we walk, sometimes it causes us to hop to regain our balance.
The irony is that because you are not really pushing them into the air, and that you are causing them to jump. So the best demonstrations will look like the student is the one jumping, and hence look the most fake!
To determine real from fake demos, you can sometimes tell by the timing and the reactions (physical and emotional). But the best way is to experience it!

It does look ridiculous doesn't it? And when it happens to you, it also FEELS ridiculous. And that's why we sometimes laugh after it's been done to us. It's a part of the fun!
