Spine.chilling. This is my favourite piece of music with the pipes and drums and I have never never seen it played in a more beautiful setting. Dunblane Cathedral is a wonderful backdrop.
My Uncle John Bruce was Pipe Major for the royal Scots dragoon guards for a considerable time, he was also our wedding piper and I couldn’t be more proud!! Miss you Unkie John ❤️❤️
This melody was composed in 1982 by germans musicians Ulrich Roever and Michael Korb for a highlands games in Germany, the Music bring to all our tears!!! What a Feeling!! Thanks to the Autors for this wonderful gift 😉 The Music bring us a really Union between countries😉
Yesterday we visited the last post ceremony at Menin gate in Ypres were this song was played by a piper band.. i can not think of a more beautyfull gift between two nations as a sign of new friendship after those horrible wars, a extremely moving moment.
This was played by a piper at my papas funeral at a sad time but puts a smile on my face to think of his smile every time it was played at the loudest that it could go 😃
Remembered this melancholy melody by Chinese band in 1997 in front of Hong Kong Government Hse during the lowering of the UK flag ceremony -- and the flow of tears from UK Governor down to the Chinese civil servants.
Why is this tune so very moving? It has a hymn like quality, and soaring leaps in the melody...but it is more than that. Somehow, the German composers have gone right to the essence of Scottish pipe music and created an absolute gem. Listening to it day after the Referendum, and getting very chocked up.
Hairs on the back of my neck stand when this is played. Written for the bagpipes, by people who love Scotland. I can accept it and it will be played when I go, by a lone piper preferably. This should be our new National Anthem.
Truly a moving piece of music. I had the privilege of conducting the funeral of WO Arty Francis - 4th RSM-A (Australian Army). We carried his coffin out to the pipes playing this tune in our local Anglican cathedral. It was hard to keep composure with Ps & Ds doing that music. Yep - when I go out, I want this one played.
I had the pleasure to serve as a Recovery Mechanic attached to A SQDN the Royal Scots in the Gulf war seeing active service with my Scottish Brothers.I feel nothing but pride when listening to this song also takes me back to the Gulf. God bless the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards and all our military where ever you are we will remember them.
:When I listen to this it makes me feel as if I have been transported to another wonderful place and time.Cannot mention its depth and beauty.Stay blessed.

Gary Steven Makes me proud to be scottish and fly the flag worldwide. Scotland has a unique way of introducing our military and Im always proud of our regiments!
Gary. I like this one too. I'm reminded of the many times I have been to Scotland with my late mum. And the RSDG version is excellent. Never fails to so do.
Preciosa interpretación de algo desconocido para mi.Me he quedado enamorado del sonido de las gaitas con esa afinación tan alta.Hay que tener pulmones para que,por el puntero, salga ese sonido tan atiplado.Espectacular...
I owe a VERY big favour to the RSDG! 6 years ago! I bought a copy of Spirit of the Glen - Journey. Until buying that I did not realise that I had not done with grieving for my late mum who passed away 2 yrs earlier. Highland Cathedral does almost the same!
I noticed the piper in the video wasn't playing this tune the moment I saw him out of step. Now I want to know what the band was actually playing in the video.

Certainly a tune which makes u proud to be a Scotsman. A really moving piece of music.

Прекрасная музыка, великолепное исполнение. С такой акустикой, также как и исполнение органной музыки, захватывает дух. Благодарю!!!
This was played at one of our sons’ and daughter’s weddings....bagpipes and all! It takes my breath away to this day!
Loved this and had it played at our Katherine and Mark's wedding. What a beautiful day. xx
I am very healed with a nostalgic melody. In my country Scottish folk songs have been introduced to school songs a lot.

Amazing tune ...just so beautiful...so proud to be Scottish 👍👍👌👌👏👏❤💙😪
carried my best friends coffin, will stand for ever more to this, RIP Private James ( jimmy Austin)
This reminds me of my homeland that i love so much in my heart, it will be played by a lone piper, when they lower me to rest
seek out the version by Robbie McLean this is such a beautiful tune and I want to go out of this world to it too
Love the drummer. I wish i had that kind of talent to play all kinds of drums (snare, bass, etc)
Just love it. Wish it had words, then it could become a national song. Inspiring !!

Bill Russell, there are words to this
It does have very stirring words definitely a candidate for a Scottish national anthem some of the others are a bit doleful 🙄🙄
Makes me proud to be scottish and serve in the British army
You make your country proud!
Cheers

Magnifique . la cornemuse ( gaitas en espagnol) était l'instrument préféré de mon papa natif des Asturies.
This song makes me so emotional every god damn time
On one day in future, my life will have it's end. And when my coffin is lowered it should be done with this song during that.
Konrad Baresa my mum was Scottish and this was played at her funeral

It is a great tune and fun to play
Why do not more people like this?
It does not matter! Not one single bit. The two composers visited Scotland and were duly and rightly inspired.
