Killing the game is disastrous. Without an offline mode it will not be possible to preserve the game. As a game lover, it's like destroying a work of art. Not that I think The Crew is a great game, but I think games should be preserved.

But ofc Ubisoft didnt allow them to do the same design here because those moneygrabbers want everyone to move to Crew 2 and Crew Motorfest. Heck as alternative they coule have just continued to build on original Crew the same way games like Fortnite or World of Tanks have simply expanded instead of getting new releases but nah, this is Ubisoft so ofc they dont do that either. Game preservation should be something that every publisher and developer would have to be forced to committed doing. Here's my issue with how they're treating the shutdown. Im not mad that the servers are gonna be shutdown, its a part of pretty much EVERY videogame in history, my issue with this is that well, as you said, there's literally already a FULL OFFLINE MODE already built into the game, which as mentioned, is literally USED during prolouge. And another issue I have with it is well, for some (very few people) who spent HUNDREDS, if not, possibly THOUSANDS of dollars buying the game, via many different cases, all of that money's gonna go down the toilet. Any physical versions of the original crew are literally just going to be paper weights. And for digital copies... that wont even be a paper weight ;-; . It's literally going to just be a reminder in your game library on how you wasted your money on a product that you can't even use anymore.
I literally have a disc copy of The Crew which I got back in 2016-2017 around the time Wild Run update came out, either way I really really hope that there is an offline mode, cause it will really break my heart if I end up keeping a disc of it's former self that holds so much memories which I can't use anymore except keeping it as a collection or souvenir :((

@@stevenvgs ahhh ok that makes sense. That is true that some games have still been in ‘operation’ even after the devs stopped supporting the online servers.
This! Backup your game files and store them in multiple locations, e.g. on HDD, DVD, BD, online in encrytped archives (SSD is not secure) et cetera and make sure to check their integrity first. In order to address data rot you can also use a checksum calculator additionally to create a separate file with all md5 hashes of the files, so if some of the files get corrupted some day you know which one are the good and the bad ones. With Linux and/or the Bash Shell this is fairly easy.
This game was one of the first games I had when I got an xbox for christmas a few years back, It was game that orignally got me hooked on cars and motorsports. Now Ubisoft shutting down the servers is a big kick in the balls to my childhood and most likely many others.

A friend of mine claimed to have a working offline mode on PC, but I don't really believed him. On the other hand he apparently played the game since the very first beta, so it's not completely unthinkable that the developers switched that option on for him back then.
Unfortunately, it's too late and recently Ubisoft has revoked everyone's game license for The Crew and now it's impossible to have an offline patch. And a late news to spread here anyways. And it's now getting worse. Also there's some message when whoever owns The Crew, will display some lame message when you tried to find the play button or the install button (if anyone owns the game). Screw Ubisoft and yeah, let's stop killing games...
What annoys me more and more about our "gaming community" as time goes on is that this always online stuff is always glossed over and ignored at first. People only open their mouths when it's too late. The next game will be The Crew 2 in a few years, and now we have the next live service racing game, Test Drive Solar Crown, waiting in the wings. I no longer support these kinds of business models. Plain and simple. And with Test Drive it hurts especially because it's one of my favourite game franchises. But what can you do?
The Crew Motorfest releases this week (4/18) on Steam. Don't buy it and remove it from your Wishlist. Stay away from purchasing any other Ubisoft releases.
Fun fact 😅 i never played the crew cuz i hate Ubisoft & always online live service games .. but I'm hating this behavior lot of companies shutting down servers for games that people bought & waste lot of time & grind & in game purchases than they took it like you don't Owen anything 🤨 that's should be illegal! these practices from greedy corporate companies making me hate live service games & modern gaming They really give us lot of reasons why we should go on piracy 🏴☠️ sometimes piracy give us better experience than these greedy shitty shameful companies 💩
I haven't buy the game and it's unfortunate that i cannot play the game, im still wondering if the offline patch exist then how am i supposed to play the game even i don't have the license yet
Like they can't spend a little bit of money and make it playable offline? They already made millions in profit from it, but they're just going to dump it because they don't want to pay server costs... Nothing to do with licensing, that only stops the sales of the game (if they don't renew licenses that is). The ONLY reason they won't add offline is because they don't want to spend money on a game they will no longer sell. Greedy scumbags!
SO I just bought the ultimate edition of this game, not realizing the situation that it was completely tied to a server that could be closed and your access to the game you paid for taken away. So what about The Crew 2? I also ordered that yesterday, is that still up or being taken down soon as well? Maybe a PS4 emulator will be able to play them in offline mode somehow, with a mod or hack.
The Crew 2 will probably go down the same route in a few years. PS: Is there actually a working PS4 emulator? The PS4 is not that old and an emulator for it would certainly need a lot of resources.
I regret buying The Crew 2, its a hollow boring Horizon knock off. The original Crew was so much more fun. Fuck Ubisoft, you say "gamers should get used to not owning their games"? No, I say, you should get used to losing your customers.
I really want offline mode for the crew 1 so badly. And fun fact troy baker played batman in lego batman 2 dc superheroes and beyond Gotham and even the crew as Alex Taylor.
I need to vent, sorry 🙏 I love this game, but the level of litteral stalking I'm subjected every time I open the game and start to drive has become unbearable. I can't drive anywhere without a random gamer starting to follow me with their car or bumping me or stuff like that. Today, after two months, I decided to try again. I chose an area seemingly isolated, no races or other point-making stuff, and tried to drive. Within THREE minutes a gamer's car was following me everywhere. I stopped? He stopped (not that it's relevant, but I'm a girl and the username of the other car was a male one). I accelerate? He does too. Changed road? Here he comes. I parked my car on the side of the road, in an attempt to bore him...nope. He waited ten minutes next to my car. He even chanced the appearance of the car in the meantime. The username was the same 😂. So an offline mod would be heaven, because as it it is now it's only stressful for me and I'm probably quitting playing altogether. I bought this game to drive and relax. Nothing else. I have bad anxiety and this was suppose to help, because driving makes me feel better. My money, my choice of how to use the game. But apparently it has become a chase and catch race between me and other players, and I'm tired of it BTW, if anyone has any advice...please tell me.
They want to come back months/years later with an "update," "reviving the game" with offline mode, and all you have to do is pay $X for this 'new' feature ...
Hi all 1st question can you play the crew on playstation 5? And finally can you play the crew offline mode to play career mode without requiring Internet connection? Many thanks
I could play for free with my ps plus subscription and thought the game was dumb and I didn't give it a chance, now I'm seeing gameplay of the game after the shutdown and I just feel stupid not playing it before.
An Ex GF of mine bought me a physical copy of The Crew Wild Run edition 4 years after its release and i kept playing and putting the it down, however i picked it back up since 3 years ago just to find out the Ubi(Greedy)soft shutdown the servers and removed the license to the game🤦🏾♂️ now i hate that i didn’t finish the game nor ever will
The thing is, this game is also on PC so it's possible that the community manages to save this game, similar thing already happened with NFS World, so only time will tell.

I agree it’s fucked and I’m part of the movement publicly trying to force UBI to backtrack this decision, or at least make it so we can play
There's no money in letting us play old games! And I predict things like this will only become worse in the future. At least for AAA games made by EA, Ubisoft and Activision.
They just want us to buy their new game product instead. Then of course that'll be shut that down as well, and the cycle repeats.
if they wanted, they could have money for offline as well
its not about money
@@troll_486 Then what is it about?
@@geminijinxies7258 they just don't care
Download the game and gather a group of modders and hackers to keep the game alive, if NFS world stayed alive the Crew can stay alive too
Wait NFS World is still around? I’m surprised I never heard anything about that. I just thought it was shut down for good and no one could get on it ever again.
@@spikypikachu1162There are a few community run servers, but it's only for PC as far as I know. Search for Soapbox Race World if you are interested.
@@spikypikachu1162Thats because it WAS officially shut down in 2015. However, people found a way to make unofficial private servers after that game's shutdown. Phantasy Star Online 1, Mario Kart Wii, Toontown, and many others all have private servers working LONG after shutdown.
So many hours logged into this game. And so many memories.
This game was one of the first games I had when I got an xbox for christmas a few years back, It was game that orignally got me hooked on cars and motorsports. Now Ubisoft shutting down the servers is a big kick in the balls to my childhood and most likely many others.
Have you tried to explore the latest PC version with old graphics (before Wild Run) sold on DVD?
Perhaps offline mode (or prologue) it's more accessible there.
Вы пробовали исследовать последнюю PC версию со старой графикой (до Wild Run), продававшуюся на DVD?
Возможно, оффлайн режим (или пролог) там более доступен.
We have the latest pre-wild run build, however we are currently working with the up-to-date version of the game.
Keeping my fingers crossed you guys will bring out a modded offline version .@@whammy4
@@whammy4 Do any of you have access to the files of the first beta version(s), maybe on an old hard drive or something?
It will be possible soon dont you worry
What annoys me more and more about our "gaming community" as time goes on is that this always online stuff is always glossed over and ignored at first. People only open their mouths when it's too late. The next game will be The Crew 2 in a few years, and now we have the next live service racing game, Test Drive Solar Crown, waiting in the wings.
I no longer support these kinds of business models. Plain and simple. And with Test Drive it hurts especially because it's one of my favourite game franchises. But what can you do?
We can all learn to code and try to break their DRM in the future.
The Crew Motorfest releases this week (4/18) on Steam. Don't buy it and remove it from your Wishlist. Stay away from purchasing any other Ubisoft releases.
Can you show gameplay of offline mode on the latest build?
We haven't gotten there yet
You can from xbox 360 at the start it had the option. Could play it for a little bit. But they hide that option
Wish i can still play after it
3:00 Quote Of The Year
Please make tutorial how we can play offline mode ! ❤
Fun fact 😅 i never played the crew cuz i hate Ubisoft & always online live service games
.. but I'm hating this behavior lot of companies shutting down servers for games that people bought & waste lot of time & grind & in game purchases than they took it like you don't Owen anything 🤨 that's should be illegal!
these practices from greedy corporate companies making me hate live service games & modern gaming
They really give us lot of reasons why we should go on piracy 🏴☠️
sometimes piracy give us better experience than these greedy shitty shameful companies 💩
Yeah, I love piracy so much anyways
The presentation and editing is top notch👌🏾
Thanks man, too bad I was sick and my nose was blocked while recording the voice lol
This is the biggest issue in gaming
I Wonder if this might be accessible like Advanced warfighter 3?
Still I was going to buy the latest crew game but not anymore.
I wouldn’t play the crew 2 for free. And I have lol
The Crew 2 will probably go down the same route in a few years.
PS: Is there actually a working PS4 emulator? The PS4 is not that old and an emulator for it would certainly need a lot of resources.
I missed this game so much and this is messed up damn..
if they dont let us play crew offline, well that mean that crack will come soon, so this is just a loss for ubisoft
I regret buying The Crew 2, its a hollow boring Horizon knock off. The original Crew was so much more fun. Fuck Ubisoft, you say "gamers should get used to not owning their games"? No, I say, you should get used to losing your customers.
Only Ubishit game I play is Rainbow Six.
LOL!
This game deserves to survive as a regular offline game.
just downloading game now for xenia...so how to start with that hidden menu?
I really want offline mode for the crew 1 so badly. And fun fact troy baker played batman in lego batman 2 dc superheroes and beyond Gotham and even the crew as Alex Taylor.
I need to vent, sorry 🙏
I love this game, but the level of litteral stalking I'm subjected every time I open the game and start to drive has become unbearable. But apparently it has become a chase and catch race between me and other players, and I'm tired of it
BTW, if anyone has any advice...please tell me.
Unfortunately theres basically no backlash, look online, barely any videos/postings.
Marvelous video, my good sir
the fact tha right now you will not see it in the store
ubisoft be like: never drive alone? more like never drive.
When I played it last year and beat it. People were still playing it. Even the crew 2 still have drivers. Motorfest got driver's in groups😂
They want to come back months/years later with an "update," "reviving the game" with offline mode, and all you have to do is pay $X for this 'new' feature ...
Its fine if your pc gamer, but what about consoles, we cant do this
Thats the trade off, most console games can be emulated in future, but pc games without community fixes become useless on modern systems
@@rvreqTheSheepojailbreak: Ami i joke to you?

Hi all
1st question can you play the crew on playstation 5?
And finally can you play the crew offline mode to play career mode without requiring Internet connection?
Many thanks
I could play for free with my ps plus subscription and thought the game was dumb and I didn't give it a chance, now I'm seeing gameplay of the game after the shutdown and I just feel stupid not playing it before.
Can you play this game Offline in Console versions? Does anyone know?
You won't even be able to see the main menu, platform does not matter
Cm si fa a giocare offline
Chills voice ?
aw come on i dont sound like that...
TDU 2 has offline mode but why not the crew.
And even TDU 1 and Gran Turismo Sport too.

okay
If a server emulator is here i will repack the game

I hope theres a mod or patch for xbox 360 as thats a good game for the xbox 360 especially if you own a jtag or rgh
We need The Crew 1 again don't let em die 😭🙏
Never drive again😔
An Ex GF of mine bought me a physical copy of The Crew Wild Run edition 4 years after its release and i kept playing and putting the it down, however i picked it back up since 3 years ago just to find out the Ubi(Greedy)soft shutdown the servers and removed the license to the game🤦🏾♂️ now i hate that i didn’t finish the game nor ever will
As shown on 0:43.
The thing is, this game is also on PC so it's possible that the community manages to save this game, similar thing already happened with NFS World, so only time will tell.
or better sue them and ask them to give our mony back
You no longer have access to this game. Why not check the Store to pursue your adventures?
at least i got it for free
because Ubisoft give a free copy in the past
but i fill sorry for this who buyed the game
that's the problem with always online games, you're basically renting them. Nothing more nothing less
A Cant BELIVE IT ! i just tested it offline you cant play it on Xbox !! I NEVER WILL SPEND ONE CENT on Crew Games if they are Just Online Playable ! SCHAME ON Ubisoft!
I'd be upset if they kill this game because im planning to buy it ☹️
I agree with Joey from YuGiOh
i miss the old graphics lol
The only way they are going to listen is if you stop playing there only online games and once there players counts go down to ZERO and start losing money than they will listen to us. It’s like a protest.
For example if all gamers who are playing the crew 2 or the the crew motorfest should all be on a same page and agree not to play the game for example all of March 2024 and give them a taste that we are serious and if they still don’t listen then will hit them with two month and so on. Guys there are so many games out there this shouldn’t affect you guys. So many other games you can play and stay distracted from this BS! Don’t fall into there trap and don’t be like a crack head coming back for more. Have some balls and learn to say NO TO THIS BS!!!! This needs to stop!!!
And to Ubisoft don’t forget who got you this far!!! Us gamers so stop robbing us and have some love for your supporters!!!
Nobody cares about people where crying dude LOL!
i just bought this game too, its bs
I’ve been playing since 2020 and almost done with the story
@@idontknow20404 ITS THAT LONG????
@@LykanSpeedits alot of stuff you can do. It's more big then the crew 2 map and you have to drive everywhere at the start of the game if you never been there. So its raw real and fun. Perhaps better than forza Horizon when driving around the map
I wish they wouldn't shut the servers down
I am not advocating for hacking and piracy but we need team that brings this game back with customs servers or at least get offline mode working well. If it needs of destroying VMProtect drm well now Ubisoft is only asking for it lol.
i am advocating for hacking and piracy, lets do it
Forget about it, I am still seriously advocating piracy as it's going to be more problematic much much later...
Number 15...
After this I have zero interest on buying anything from Ubisoft again. I'm comfortable not owning their games.
