Adding an Easy to Do Laundry Nook Shelf (and Lost Socks Repository ;-))

When the laundry detergent mysteriously spilled behind the dryer, I knew it was time to take action. No more itty bitty shelf!
So, I installed a 4' shelf to use the entire space and eliminate the laundry detergent abyss of doom. I placed a 1" x 6" under the new shelf as a super easy way to level the shelf, while also adding support by attaching it directly to the studs. This gives you great flexibility in bracket location given that the 1" x 6" is already attached to the wall studs.
With the added shelf space, I added a "Lost Socks" basket for the seemingly never ending collection.
Throw in some matching vinyl shelf covering and, Voila! C'est tout fini!
