- Welcome to my European Sourcing Trip series! This summer, I spent nearly a month in Europe to visit family and do some vintage shopping/sourcing for my Etsy shop. I thrifted in England, UK and Paris, France and found so many amazing pieces.
In this episode, I’m taking you to the Furnace End Car Boot Sale in the Midlands, UK. The prices were good, and I found some great vintage and antiques items. I can't wait to show you the amazing pieces I got in the haul portion of the video.

I'm in the UK and just in case you didn't know , the wonderful brass mushroom you found has a pixie on top and probably originally from Cornwall where pixies are part of the folklore ❤

It's always fun and interesting to thrift and shop second-hand in a different country.
I agree - so fascinating to see how decor changes and what items we were all into even though we are thousands of miles apart.
I am loving watching your videos for the first time, being a new subscriber. I am also a reseller, and I (like you do) want to keep so much of what I have bought! I did give myself permission to have the pictures I have purchased, spend some time on my walls before I sell them. It is so hard to let go! I am feeling your pain, lol.

I’m in the U.K. my tips would be get there early, take loads of change and barter, if you ask the price of one thing at a stall and it’s reasonable, gather a few bits together then ask if they will take £x amount for everything. Take lots of bags too. I always try and go to the house clearance vans first.

Hey Andi... I so love that quirky cat head and of course Im a brass nut too :D.
Im in the UK and carboots are a regular thing for me to go to. Definitely have my favourite ones, cos like you say, some can be very, very random and yeah... some can be kinda dodgy too, lol.
I travel up to the Cotswolds for work quite a bit and I always find great stuff there including furniture... and also when I visit family in Hampshire. In both of these places, it's a pretty safe bet that there will be plenty of treasures available and its also ok here in Cornwall too. Also... at the same sort of price point to your haul. I think the most Ive paid for something at a carboot was £12 for a mid century teak dresser in good condition.
Cant wait to hear how you pack your suitcase, as Im off to your neck of the woods soon and def have a wish list of things to bring back.
Ill definitely have to hit you up for suggestions when I go next year! It’s a good excuse to see more parts of the UK. ❤️ Ill try to get the packing video done soon. Everything arrived safe thank god and I’ve had a few people give me even more cool hacks I can’t wait to share.
Visiting end if April you have any recommendations if Car boot sales close to Balham?
I'm not sure what's in that area (I live in the US), but if you pop up to London, definitely hit Portobello Road and the Old Spitalfiels Market (I have a video on these). Laura Caldwell just did a recap of UK thrifting, so make sure and check out her videos.

Do you take a hard side suitcase?
I took three large soft body roller bags. They are big and more square. I packed all the items in cardboard and boxes so they would be protected and then put them into the bag.
You talk so fast and move the items around as you talk, so we just don't get to actually see the items.
