Volume wasn't good on this one Walter. I could barely hear you, even on max volume on phone.

hi alfonso, thank you very much for your comment, tbh the sound was fine on my laptop so didnt think to test it on youtube before i made it public, the head camera was a make shift fix while i have no internet, but i am getting a new camera and mike on boom so the quality should improve soon , i am sorry it was so quiet

Lovely items again, the Amber pendant on the belcher chain is Cognac amber which pulls way more money than yellow. I would not sell it for less than £90.

Hi Walter. I love porcelain but I had such trouble trying to hear you. And you had jewelry too this time. But almost no sound. You may need to move the camera closer to you; get a microphone for your collar; or film without being on camera so that you are closer to the microphone? I love hearing the stories on each one.

    Hi,
You have some beautiful items there.
Hate to break it to you though but those netsuke are modern Chinese pieces that are mass produced. You can buy them on EBay, the exact same models for about 10£ a piece. As a collector, I see a lot of these being passed around auctions and antique fair as genuinely old and valuable. I've even seen a few in professional antique galleries in Paris at 500€ a pop. Some unscrupulous western dealers (not saying that was the case here) import them on mass and then sell them off as genuine so lately they've flooded the market.
Had they been genuine antique Japanese pieces or even early 20th century then they would have been worth easily 100£ each. Sadly, I think 50£ is really about the money for them.
If you're genuinely interested in these pieces there are lots of really good books and websites out there.

Hi John. Thank you for your comment. I agree the netsuke are modern as I said in the video late 20th century. I been doing antiques for around 25. Years so never thought these were antique Tbh I felt pressured buying them off a friend who sells me a lot of things. But knew I over paid for them. I will say mind I expected a small profit I found a few sold between 20 and 30 for the modern ones.

Hi Walter, hope you and yours are well.
Where can you get £40 for Hafod Grange lucite paperweights please? I happen to have one, they seem to only fetch £5-20 on eBay.

    • @AntiquesArena
      @AntiquesArena  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hi Danny. Thankfully mate I don’t sell on eBay. I sell on my own site. But the big dandelion on eBay sells easy for 30 just looked now and people as asking. 40 to 60 all over place A fiver for hafod grange. Christ I buy them for that.

Hi Walter, the “ Netsuke “ are modern reproductions made in China by the millions, most are carved using small electric drills.

Gutted for you about the closure of ‘Splott’ 🤬🥲… surely they could relocate to a new site and call it ‘New Splott’… so sad though!!!…..magnificent haul of the Lucite paperweights…12 for £40!…lovely selection and amazing process to make them…one is ‘lucky heather, I think?!….Bet you can find decanters for the Tantalus’.. but what a good buy for the case anyway 👏….The George Jones cups and saucers are just gorgeous…as you say, serious collectors will be very interested indeed… no wonder you are over the moon , with those… exquisite!!….Very interesting history about the table lamps, which were an unbelievable bargain!!….Very saleable mid century items,… and worth your estimated price, Walter👌…The silver collar decanter.. shame about the repair…( someone in Stourbridge would be able to do something to rectify that…so that it could be used…there are still talented glass workers there!!)….Royal Albert, still extremely popular patterns. That studio pottery piece…the Name Casson sounds very familiar…Sir Hugh Casson!!!..any relation??…Wow,…the prices!!…amazing find and obviously much profit there….(Great improvisation , to use the ‘Head Cam’…it’s called ‘thinking outside the box’!!!👏👏👏)…And it worked well, 🤣🤣….Was not expecting Japanese Netske!!!…. adore the little Rat best of all….Picture frame, small, silver beautiful always popular..as with the Scottish brooch, reminds me of Mr Jensen!!!Love both of the pendants !!!…You might be surprised about not selling these items quickly??….Superb Haul👏👏👏👏…good old Splott!!!….and the Garage clear out videos are So Good too ….Thanks again, as usual, Walter..Sue (Bham)

Hi Sue, as always love, thank you so so so much for all your support. i am gutted splott is going, end of this month, there was some talk of re location but i dont think the market owner wants the hastle, to be honest the council shouldnt be aloud to remove a market to build a school when they are only upgrading and replacing a school from one mile down the road. maybe they should put the market in the old school lol. but nope that will end up houses. the george jones cups are as rare as hens teeth and i feel privileged to own them and have them on my website. the decanter i will just leave someone else deal with it, if i get my money back it will still display for someone on a shelf. as always hun thank you so much x

@@AntiquesArena Totally agree with what you said about Splott…big big profits on the land , I guess…The kids might make good ‘dealers’ though!! 😄😄…Birmingham council keep wanting to sell some of the Parks !!! here!!…they should stop wasting my council tax and paying themselves more 🤬… Sorry… ‘rant’ over !… Sue Bham) 👍

@@suejames6808 I agree with you. As far as I am concerned the council staff including managers should be on the same rate of pay as a fire fighter or police officer. There you have real people risking their lives to save people in need. And they get nothing. And there is the council with holidays payed. Second homes paid. Nights out and food paid for under terms of work. Why because they may mention over the dinner table something business related. Believe me your preaching to the already converted lol someone has had a big back handed to get rid of the market cos I always thought markets were protected by law but ha ho

Your professional eye spots the good stuff Walter. There is a relatively new car boot sale started in Cowbridge, Marlborough Grange Farm. Sundays 12:00 mid day onwards for sellers, 1:00pm onwards for buyers. Lovely flat field, plenty of room for sellers and buyers parking. Petting Zoo, Refreshments, WC only £8 to park a sellers car sideways on, buyers Free. I think over time this is going to grow into a big one.

hi mate, what can i say, you always have something nice to say, thank you so so much. i am following the cowbridge boot sale on facebook, its not big enough to justify me travelling that far a min especially when the sellers are walking around before the buyers get in, but will have to look in to it when splot goes end of this month. thanks mate

Hi Lomie, thank you for your comment, the lamps maybe a little later than the !950s, not certain will look in to it, not sure how long they used the mark or if they changed it through the lifespan of the factory.
