Great restoration. The only small thing, When you put the cable in the plug you should put the black outher sleeve in the strain relief. Its much safer that way
Once again you brought trash to treasure, and in true old fashioned design, plug it in it either works or it don't. Fire hazard, yes definitely! But it's what they had. When it was made, it was a top of the class heater. Thanks for sharing this video and remember Texas is watching.
Back then they weren't too concerned about safety as they are today as you said don't touch that that was the rule - I use a mix of old and new around my house and one of the things I use is those style of heaters even my dogs know not to stick their nose in the element - I prefer to use those style heaters because they direct the heat right on you mine are the old Addison style where you can point the heat toward your feet when it's cold instead of heating the air up like the newer heaters do it directs the heat toward the object and it's generally my feet that are cold if my feet are warm the rest of my body becomes warm also those heaters when you turn them on it's instant heat there's no waiting in the morning when I light my wood heater I'll turn on the heater like that one to warm myself up as I'm getting the wood heater fired up it works really well
Nice restoration! Almost new! I use these old heaters as reflectors, using a led lamp. If they face the wall you have an indirect light effect. Besides your work I liked your black/yellow pliers. And your 😸 giving the final polishing in the parts with it's so precious tail... 👏👏👏🏆🏆🏆 fro Brazil 🇧🇷
Nice to hear that drill again, nice work, wish you would put the guard back on the stone side of your grinder. I have seen what those stones can do if they fracture while running. Stay well.
I wanted to say you need to add a tab on the heater to make the ground work on the cord but I think this not being grounded is the least of it's safety problems. Very nice job on the restoration.
Good.... On the power cord, the "Yellow-Green" wire should be a bit longer then the other two. Regards Mr. Stig Österberg from Dalsbruk (in South part of Finland)
Can't anything be done to paint the center thing with the gray cement filling? Some heat resistant paint, or applying watered down cast to make it whiter, or some other trickery...
Award for being the most dangerous home device I've ever seen :)
Thank you very much :)
They did burn down a few houses, yeah.
With this heater, you'll be warm for the rest of your life
Such a pleasure to just hear your work sounds, no bloody awful music!! Nice work as always
Thank you very much, greetings :)

Somehow the word safety doesn't come to mind with this :) Seems like it's a fancy fire starter

Dear Paul, thank you very much for your great comments :) Love to Texas :)
And when you're hungry, just lay a couple slices of bread on it for toast!
Thank you very much :)
Back when safety was "you probably shouldn't touch that, if you do, that's your problem.".
Haha, great advice 😊

Those wire bars in front of the heating thing are more decorative than functional :’) gotta love the ‘less is more’ 😂

Excellent job. Suggest get a continuity tester to make sure the earth on the plug is making good connection with the heater relector bowl.
Thank you very much for your comments :)

Are you sure that center piece (heating element) isn't made of asbestos?

18:18 The cord grip should clamp down on the outer sheath and not the conductors.

Thank you very much. There is a ground connection, you can see the cable connection section in the video. No safety issues 😊
