I still have my old RX 580 floating around in my pc parts stash and idk what to do with it tbh. It served me well all the way to 2021 when I finally got myself a 3060 and now I'm saving for a 4080 hopefully.
I have an RX 580, figured it was good enough for now, like as a place holder since i don't have a lot of money to throw around. I do upgrades as i go, search for deals and sort of take my time. My CPU right now is an AM5, Ryzen 5 7600 and i have 32gb DDR5 RAM 6400hz... Well, i started out with an old, like 2008 PC i found at a flea market. Dirt cheap. I liked the case, and it had a nice 850 watt power supply in it. I'd go over what the other old parts were if asked, clearly someone spend a LOT of money building it years ago. But i gutted that out for my build. Now I'm considering getting an ARC B580 because for $250... It's a decent upgrade, and it'll definitely hold me over until i have more money saved up, and the perfect deal comes along. But really, i believe patience is most important with PC building. Certain used parts are a great way to go, especially if you can paint or get creative (or don't care). Oh, i also don't care about 4k. 1080p or 1440 is fine, I would much rather focus on a good monitor, because resolution isn't *all* that matters.

Got a deepcool ak620 off eBay for $35 since they are banned in the US and I like the design. 4tb crucial p3 plus PCIe 4 ssd +5 case fans. I also managed to fit a 3.5in 8tb drive under the PSU. My case looks a lot fuller than yours lol

OMG this video is amazing, my rx580 i obtained in 2023 to replace my r9 290x that was acting sussy. so a quick check of fb marketplace and $50 after running to a sketchy neighborhood later and i had it, its been running along side my equally bought used ryzen 2600x and my 25 dollar mobo that i got for that cheap due to a burned out enet socket. That is the story of my gaming rig, hope you enjoyed it
@@dimmacommunication There are issues atm with the B580 and some older CPU pairings. In more CPU intensive games, the B580 is under performing for 1080P. It's not all games but hopefully drivers can sort this out, esp since they are still pretty new
@@dimmacommunication I dont think the 7600xt is fast enough to fully utilize its 16gb of Vram. I would look at the RX 6700 XT or the 6750 XT if you can find one at 300 or less. 12 GB of Vram and both cards are solid performers, esp at 1440p. They are right above the B580 in performance (when b580 is working properly with its CPU pairing) and a solid all around choice. I have a video using it that comes out on the 15th but plenty of info out there about it.
I can't get my RX 6750 XT to work at all, tried every fix you can think of. Back to my RX 580 for now. Watched your video to make me feel a bit better about it. LOL. Mind you, it runs Path Of Exile 2 on high settings at 2k res, using dynamic resolution with great performance. Always above 60 fps.. That really surprised me. It definitely is a great card today still. I can put money down on it, if devs really optimized their engines/games very well this card will still run anything today without a hassle. @1080p, in triple A gaming though.

I have RTX 3080/12. And I run CB with path tracing. 1440p, DF optimized settings, DLSS balanced. Anywhere between 45 to 60 (vsync lock) FPS. Usually closer to 60 than 45 (Dogtown). So yeah, 3080/12 can ray trace without problems.
Don't mind the sassy robot's comments! But yeah, was mostly referring to the lower end cards like 2060/4060 where people use RT as one of the reasons for choosing Nvidia over AMD when it's just silly cause you lose so much performance turning it on at that tier of GPU. Also that being said, seeing how the B580 handles RT on Cyberpunk 1440P, that comment became even more out dated/wrong LMAO

10:32 that's a weird RX-580 is it the 2048sp version? my RX-570 4Gb has higher frames on low (72fps) and medium(53fps) without Upscaling, though that RX-580 wins after upscaling. Also i'm still using the Amernime modded Driver. that's prolly the case.
@@SayachanQQ i have a 16Gb(8x2) 2666Mhz ram OC'ed to 3000Mhz. paired with a Ryzen 3 3100 (OC'ed to 4.1Ghz via PBO) the GPU is a MSI RX-570 4GB 50th Anniversary Edition with Amernime Modded Drivers (yes the modded drivers gives me the ability to use features only available for RX6000 Series) with undervolt setting and -10W power limit.

It's not really AI. The robot is text to speech and all of the rest is my own written script, editing, gameplay and is compiled by me. I actually made the robot into a PNGtuber too, so when I record we both there hanging out on OBS. But ty ^ ^

I was about to grab this GPU for my budget video editing/gaming rig, But I found out RX 580 is bad at video editing specially Adobe premiere and Adobe after effects (what I used)., I need a gpu that can do video editing on 1080p and 4k without breaking my wallet. So I ended buying GTX 1650 for 50$. But I'm amazed Rx 580 can still holding up! Is 4GB of vram enough for editing though? I have tested some editing on the RX 580 but not with Adobe so I can't speak there. I have a vid coming out next week using the 580 for content creation though. Either way ty for sharing! I would like to test a GTX 1650 as some point too, I think people sleep on the value of these old GPUs and how much use they still have. And that's a solid build ^ ^
@@SayachanQQ Yes the 4GB VRAM is definitely more than enough for me since I only edit video ads on the company I work with and Adobe applications are geared more towards Nvidia GPUs especially the CUDA cores.
@@SayachanQQ But sadly I've been using adobe premiere for almost a year now so it hard for me transit to another editing software specially on Davinci I heard that amd gpu's works great on that editing sofware. So if I weren't using adobe premiere. Probably ill be happy using rx 580 on editing.
What i always found hilarious is how some weirdos get over defensive when you tell them their 580 sp2048 is just a relabelled 570. You could as well tell someone his kitcar isn´t the real one and laugh about the owners desperate attempts to "convince" you otherwise.
It def is not a real 580 but I do think its still cool as a modded piece of hardware lol. Haven't heard about anyone getting upset over it but it also wouldn't surprise me :p

By that logic i could take a dump in their living room and place a label on it "chocolate muffin" and they should be drooling over the delicacy. I go by the rule of thumb, if it looks like a pig, sounds like a pig and smells like a pig then it most definitely is a pig. Even if someone dresses it in a wolf costume. But then again.. logic doesn´t seem to be a strongpoint with a lot of people nowadays. It´s more about what they "feel" like and what they want to believe in their delusion. And about the modded part... why not be honest and sell it as a rx570, nothing wrong on that. The part that i dislike about the cards... that plenty of sellers used some old 570 chips or even 470 chips and modified the bios to read 580. For me that card is a fraud. Especially when you consider that you can get actual 570 and even 580 cards on ebay for cheaper, the risk of having a run down miner chip is pretty much the same.
I actually rocked an RX 580 up until last October where I managed to get a windfall and get a 6700 XT. The only thing I hated about it was the fact it was a 2048 SP version, but since I'm in Southeast Asia, it's the most common and readily available version, and the 2304 580 is about $10-$30 more expensive. IMHO, if you're getting it between $50-$80 it is still very good value well into 2025, but it is definitely a budget PC build GPU that runs pretty much any game you throw at it in medium-high settings so long as it's before 2020. But you know what? That's fine, that still covers all but the most graphically intense games out there. If you have a computer worth around $300-$600? I'd say it's worth it. Certainly beats scam graphics cards as I've seen GT 710s and 730s still going for the same price as the 580s on Aliexpress and Amazon...
I 100% agree that if you can get it between 50-$80 its super worthwhile, and for that price points its one of the best options. Also, the 6700 XT is a great GPU! Def a big upgrade too lol. @@GrainGrown It's really a 570 with a 580 BIOS because when I tried to install a 570 driver it just refused to work. I'm not that upset about it, though. They're common and after looking around, the 2304 SPs usually fetch a higher price; like 25-30% more locally for only 11% extra performance.
@@roys.1889 I still think their existence is kind of cool. I wonder if any newer GPU will ever get the same treatment. More vram added and a dif BIOS loaded up and sold as a slightly dif version of the card its emulating. Maybe some RX 6600 made into a "6700" variant
TLDR: 8gb of vram is perfectly fine for most games these days, just adjust your expectations and dont expect to run everything on ultra high presets and raytracing garbage on
for 1080P* But the interesting thing with less Vram is sometimes you don't know that small details/textures are either not rendered or look as nice. But I mean, if you can't notice and it still looks fine, does it really matter? It can also effect your FPS and your lows. That being said you can def still game with 8GB Vram, esp on a budget. Like you said, just have to adjust your expectations. I will say though, if the RTX 5060 drops with 8GB of Vram for $300+ that's a crime lol
Nothing wrong with that combo, should be solid at 1080P. Just make sure if you are buying the 3600, not to buy from over priced third party sellers. Otherwise you can find the 5600 at $70 ^ ^

@@SayachanQQ well amd drivers are somewhat integrated to the linux kernel. you only need the vulkan stuff i think. thats how ive been usin it for around a month now as a daily driver. i would recommend endeavour os if you would be interested in trying it again.

Plus, I had just built the PC and had put AliExpress and used parts in and really wanted to fully test them to make sure everything worked as soon as I could and was so lost with linux lol. @AfifKhan-w3r should be fine at 1080p but I have not specifically tested that combo to say what exact FPS you will get. I imagine you should be able to game fine with low to medium settings, depending on the game ^ ^

Yeah the whole time I was testing it, it just kept impressing me over and over, legit insane performance for the price, esp since I had just come from testing the A770 and how many issues I had with it, granted that was at 1440p but still. Also are you admitting to cheating, dark.. sus (also also that GPU that got higher score was actually doing a dif version of the test but I had to build drama for the vid of course, def not me being blind and not noticing until after and making up excuses :p )
And it was fun cleaning up the GPU, giving it a makeover and giving it a second life ^ ^ The person I had bought it from had bought it for a build and never used it, so who knows where they got it from. It also has a dual-BIOS switch on it and I am not sure if one of them was set up for mining. I don't really know enough about GPU BIOS and memory timings to be sure. But yeah I almost wanted to send pics to person I bought it from cause I doubt they would even recognize their GPU lol. This is the 3rd GPU I have painted and I def did the best on this one, it almost looks like it came from factory as pink \o/

@SayachanQQ coils capacitors voltage regulation modules and now Ic,s and bios chips one of the weirdest experiments was a 1ghz bios chip instead of 400mhz
what benchmarks tell you, probably not but if your just looking for raw performance it still is a very viable card and I play CS-2 with it all ultra settings and it get's around 80fps.
It's got more CUDA cores, double the vram and a bigger memory bus and if you paint it pink it gains more power ^ ^ That being said, I would give it to the 580 cause the Vram dif alone

I have a RX 580 2048SP from SOYO ( I like to see it as an higher clocked rx570) and it has been really good with my lower end garage computer. I paired it with a e5 1650 v2 with a 4 ghz overclock and it will plays games quite well. I think I got the card around 50 bucks so it wasn't too expensive. The only thing that is weird about it is that the computer will reset the power limit to 100 watts instead of using the the full 150 but its not hard to change back just annoying .

I have both but you are comparing a $60-$80 budget 1080p GPU in the used market vs a 1440p $250 MSRP card, those aren't even in the same realm of use cases, let alone pricing lol
Just got an rx 580 last month but the 4gb version, it's still pretty good still capable of doing 1080p as long as you don't max the graphics but 4gb isn't really enough these days especially modern AAA Games but for me this is enough. I went from a UHD 630 IGPU to a RX 580 which is a really big difference and i'm happy for it.

I have RTX 3080/12. And I run CB with path tracing. 1440p, DF optimized settings, DLSS balanced. Anywhere between 45 to 60 (vsync lock) FPS. Usually closer to 60 than 45 (Dogtown). So yeah, 3080/12 can ray trace without problems.
Don't mind the sassy robot's comments! But yeah, was mostly referring to the lower end cards like 2060/4060 where people use RT as one of the reasons for choosing Nvidia over AMD when it's just silly cause you lose so much performance turning it on at that tier of GPU. Also that being said, seeing how the B580 handles RT on Cyberpunk 1440P, that comment became even more out dated/wrong LMAO

10:32 that's a weird RX-580 is it the 2048sp version? my RX-570 4Gb has higher frames on low (72fps) and medium(53fps) without Upscaling, though that RX-580 wins after upscaling.

I was about to grab this GPU for my budget video editing/gaming rig, But I found out RX 580 is bad at video editing specially Adobe premiere and Adobe after effects (what I used)., I need a gpu that can do video editing on 1080p and 4k without breaking my wallet. So I ended buying GTX 1650 for 50$. But I'm amazed Rx 580 can still holding up!

Is 4GB of vram enough for editing though? I have tested some editing on the RX 580 but not with Adobe so I can't speak there. I have a vid coming out next week using the 580 for content creation though. Either way ty for sharing! I would like to test a GTX 1650 as some point too, I think people sleep on the value of these old GPUs and how much use they still have. And that's a solid build ^ ^
@@SayachanQQ Yes the 4GB VRAM is definitely more than enough for me since I only edit video ads on the company I work with and Adobe applications are geared more towards Nvidia GPUs especially the CUDA cores.
@@SayachanQQ But sadly I've been using adobe premiere for almost a year now so it hard for me transit to another editing software specially on Davinci I heard that amd gpu's works great on that editing sofware. So if I weren't using adobe premiere. Probably ill be happy using rx 580 on editing.

And about the modded part... why not be honest and sell it as a rx570, nothing wrong on that. The part that i dislike about the cards... that plenty of sellers used some old 570 chips or even 470 chips and modified the bios to read 580.
For me that card is a fraud. Especially when you consider that you can get actual 570 and even 580 cards on ebay for cheaper, the risk of having a run down miner chip is pretty much the same.
I have also told the truth about those "580 2048SP" cards to many commenters and they were all like "nuh-uh, it's not a 570". Delusional noobs...

I actually rocked an RX 580 up until last October where I managed to get a windfall and get a 6700 XT. The only thing I hated about it was the fact it was a 2048 SP version, but since I'm in Southeast Asia, it's the most common and readily available version, and the 2304 580 is about $10-$30 more expensive. IMHO, if you're getting it between $50-$80 it is still very good value well into 2025, but it is definitely a budget PC build GPU that runs pretty much any game you throw at it in medium-high settings so long as it's before 2020. But you know what? That's fine, that still covers all but the most graphically intense games out there. If you have a computer worth around $300-$600? I'd say it's worth it. Certainly beats scam graphics cards as I've seen GT 710s and 730s still going for the same price as the 580s on Aliexpress and Amazon...
I 100% agree that if you can get it between 50-$80 its super worthwhile, and for that price points its one of the best options. Also, the 6700 XT is a great GPU! Def a big upgrade too lol. @@GrainGrown It's really a 570 with a 580 BIOS because when I tried to install a 570 driver it just refused to work. I'm not that upset about it, though. They're common and after looking around, the 2304 SPs usually fetch a higher price; like 25-30% more locally for only 11% extra performance.

TLDR: 8gb of vram is perfectly fine for most games these days, just adjust your expectations and dont expect to run everything on ultra high presets and raytracing garbage on
for 1080P* But the interesting thing with less Vram is sometimes you don't know that small details/textures are either not rendered or look as nice. But I mean, if you can't notice and it still looks fine, does it really matter? It can also effect your FPS and your lows. That being said you can def still game with 8GB Vram, esp on a budget. Like you said, just have to adjust your expectations. I will say though, if the RTX 5060 drops with 8GB of Vram for $300+ that's a crime lol

Nothing wrong with that combo, should be solid at 1080P. Just make sure if you are buying the 3600, not to buy from over priced third party sellers. Otherwise you can find the 5600 at $70 ^ ^

Yeah the whole time I was testing it, it just kept impressing me over and over, legit insane performance for the price, esp since I had just come from testing the A770 and how many issues I had with it, granted that was at 1440p but still. Also are you admitting to cheating, dark.. sus
(also also that GPU that got higher score was actually doing a dif version of the test but I had to build drama for the vid of course, def not me being blind and not noticing until after and making up excuses :p )
And it was fun cleaning up the GPU, giving it a makeover and giving it a second life ^ ^ The person I had bought it from had bought it for a build and never used it, so who knows where they got it from. It also has a dual-BIOS switch on it and I am not sure if one of them was set up for mining. I don't really know enough about GPU BIOS and memory timings to be sure. But yeah I almost wanted to send pics to person I bought it from cause I doubt they would even recognize their GPU lol. This is the 3rd GPU I have painted and I def did the best on this one, it almost looks like it came from factory as pink \o/

what benchmarks tell you, probably not but if your just looking for raw performance it still is a very viable card and I play CS-2 with it all ultra settings and it get's around 80fps.
It's got more CUDA cores, double the vram and a bigger memory bus and if you paint it pink it gains more power ^ ^ That being said, I would give it to the 580 cause the Vram dif alone
tested both and the 1650 isn't really as good as the 580

I have a RX 580 2048SP from SOYO ( I like to see it as an higher clocked rx570) and it has been really good with my lower end garage computer. I paired it with a e5 1650 v2 with a 4 ghz overclock and it will plays games quite well. I think I got the card around 50 bucks so it wasn't too expensive. The only thing that is weird about it is that the computer will reset the power limit to 100 watts instead of using the the full 150 but its not hard to change back just annoying .
I was actually looking at the white RX 580 2048SP from SOYO when I was planning the build but it was around $80 on Aliexpress and it just seemed way too much for what I would be getting. And they are very much modded 570s with modified BIOS and added on Vram which is pretty cool tbh, and one of the reasons I wanted to try one. Just got an rx 580 last month but the 4gb version, it's still pretty good still capable of doing 1080p as long as you don't max the graphics but 4gb isn't really enough these days especially modern AAA Games but for me this is enough. I went from a UHD 630 IGPU to a RX 580 which is a really big difference and i'm happy for it.
