- Derren Brown choses six applicants at random and offers them the choice of a nice suprise, or a much darker one. The applicants won't know whether they have chosen trick or treat and won't know how or when it will happen to them. In this episode, a young obedient do-gooder crosses the line between sanity and insanity as Derren uses coercion and suggestion to push the boundaries of the sane mind.

The police were very likely informed that they'd likely get a call about this and to just ignore it.

if you watch the video he says multiple times that the choice was irrlevant and shows how the cards reverse.. its just to add to the uncertainty of what he will experience.
His accuracy always seems to amaze me how accurate he is 99% of the time

Well if you took a sensible spread of guesses to be 150 (say min reasonable guess 100, and max 250) and so far there have been nearly 15,000 views of this video then already there will be at least 100 people like you going "wtf, that's crazy" whilst the rest of us gloss over without even giving it a second thought that we didn't guess correctly... And of course only those getting 136 would be excited enough to comment about it...

Everyone does know that both cards do say trick?! Once the 'treat' card is turned upside down it says trick that's why he never flips the treat card to the person he only turns it around if it was flipped it would say trick

At about 19:29 or 19:30...or again at 19:49, get a rough count of how many sweets are touching this half of the jar. I got about 50-ish. Add another 50 to get how many touching the other side. That's about 100 sweets on the outer layer alone. Is he trying to tell us for the entire rest of the jar there were only 36 more?? Someone is fooling someone here. And people dress differently from day to day. The description of her clothes must have been some kind of fix. I'm not sure how many stooges we have here, I suppose it doesn't really matter. DB also really shot himself in the foot when 2856 divided by 21 was EXACTLY 136. If this small group of people were guessing as randomly as he suggested, this division would just get you somewhere close to the answer. No way would it be precise, with no remainder. Pity, in the past I've found DB quite impressive, but once you realise the fakery, it all falls apart. You DO have to ask the relevant questions tho, and not just let yourself be all impressed.
That's why he doesn't show the board to the other participants because then each would realize that their number isn't on the board.

This is a unique form of entertainment. It's sad that some people think it's real. It's as if it's designed to get people to believe in fakery, something that Derren claims to be against.
The "victim" seems to have heard in the headphones: I'll give you a thousand dollar, if you dress like a madman and scream, dance and sing on the marketplace.

Assuming the guy was really temporarily insane, this is very risky because Derren wouldn't know what actions might arise from the programming. The guy could have picked up a knife and went on a stabbing spree, for instance. Realise that the participant willingly agreed to undergo this, but the general public didn't. If anything had gone wrong those public citizens could have been traumatised or worse.This is potentially irresponsible and dangerous.
