I agree fully. I also have a 4tb external HDD but that's really only good for storage. Sucks that to play Series X/S updated games you need to use the internal SSD or buy the expansion card. Though if you really don't play slot of games in frequent rotation, I guess it's sufficient.

I do not personally own one of these but I think the ability to do this is awesome and allows anyone who may be strapped for cash or are just hesitant to do so as it is not a huge hobby of theirs to be able to next gen game this way or the add on screen option to make it a more mobile console. The series s is a great console. Edit: I own one now
Yup I thought about switching to pc but to get a PC especially where I live to do what the series s can do you are looking min $1000 unless you go used market route and then you playing Russian roulette at that point. Series s is insane value if you just game and don't care about specs and all that garbage. Games look good and run good on series s
I personally had to charge up and make a point to play with my switch more because the SS is taking up all my free time. I am so happy with purchase. I still love powerful machines and the world we live in that but my SS was a great choice as a busy dad who just wants next gen.
It's better to buy a high end 1080p monitor than a cheap 4k one. Series S doesnt really have 4k games and games that are 1440p are typically 30fps, many games run at sub 1080 (dynamic res) so a 1080p screen with all the bells and whistles (120hz minimum, freesync, etc) is better
Best option would be to go for a 1080p or 1440p 120 Hz monitor for Series S. I personally own this console and I have seen that almost all games runs at 1080p dynamic resolution in series S, so a 4k monitor might make the games look little pixelated. If you own a 4k TV then that is fine because you are not going to use a TV so closely like a monitor, so a 4k TV will minimise the pixelated effect when looked from a distance, moreover most of the TVs comes with upscaling feature which might improve the experience a little bit more.
Assuming the game is optimized for series x/s, the games are 1440p upscaled to 4k which is why you won't ever see true 4k from the series s. I personally use a 1080 monitor and it looks fantastic for what it is
@@codemister7 they are not, majority of games are 1080p 60fps trust me I’ve seen it and I’ve watch benchmarks on digital foundry. There is no absolutely point on getting a 4K monitor with a series s , as it will not do any 4K gaming ,only few 1440p but majority are 1080p ,so if u are okay with 1080p then series s is a great choice for you for now but there is no point in lying saying that it can do 1440p 120fps or 4K gaming because it can’t ,I’ll probably saw 1 game that can do 1440p 60fps and that game is not an AAA game but the rest are either dynamic 1440p or 1080p or even lower 900p.
@@Omar-kl3xp if you noticed, I said the games with 1440p capabilities, are specifically optimized for series S/X. And a good chunk actually do offer 120fps. Also said it was upscaled to 4k hence not being true 4k. Did you even read my comment?

The series s is the best budget gaming you can get out there ,there is no single machine that can offer the same quality ,performance and experience for the same price ,but I don’t want people to mislead by believing that they can play similar performance as series x and ps5 as I have seen too many people believing that series s can do 1440p 120fps and 4K gaming .
The Xbox Series S has been geared towards outputting 1440p at 60Hz, up to a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz. It can upscale the picture to 4K to match your 4K TV, but you won’t be able to see next-gen games in native 4K. You can only play games in native 4K resolution (at up to 120Hz) on the Xbox Series X.
Realistically the series X delivers 4k native at 30fps in most situations especially with ray tracing enabled but it can upscale from a higher original resolution so it looks better kinda like switching FSR or DLSS from performance to ultra quality
@@theaverageblitzer4351 Depending on the game and your TV or monitor that you have that is true however there are a number of games out there that do play at 4k and 120fps if you have the proper setup. Though you can use it as a PC, it's still very limited to what a PC can actually do. You can do the exact same with any of the Xbox Ones since they're using the same software only less powerful, no surprise.

If you're gonna buy a Xbox Series S or X you should have a 144hz monitor to take advantage of the 120fps that the new consoles can output! 4k is nice but frames per second is more important especially for shooter games! FreeSync or VRR is another thing you need for a monitor! I have a Samsung 55" TV with a 120hz panel, FreeSync and ALLM and it's great and my son has a 27" 144hz monitor for his PS5
Fun fact halo infinite does not run at 120 fps on the series s it was enabled during the first and second test flight so its capable of doing it but it was removed with the last beta

I bought the Xbox series S two days ago as exactly an option to a gaming pc purely for simulation games , my word I was not disappointed! It packs a heck of a punch performance and gameplay wise , I’ve struggled with just a laptop playing games like TSW 2 and TS2022 , blown away by the fact it’s got the function to use the edge browser ! , Netflix and many other apps , without the heaviness of an operating system such as windows and all the other programs that bog down a pc memory wise , well pleased as I’ve been away from the gaming circle for 9 years . Brilliant investment and more importantly a cheaper option .

In the near future, almost all Activision, Bethesda and Xbox games will probably have keyboard support. WoW will also probably come to Xbox consoles w/ mouse & keyboard support. To me, that’s more important than VR because it makes cross play with PC guys more balanced.
@@Spartan_83 believe it or not, I didn’t build my PC to play console only games. Additionally, in this case, an Xbox being Microsoft, most games are being ported to PC. not all, but most. My point is though, an Xbox as a budget option for a PC build misses that one major motive of people building PCs.
@@CameronForrester I got that from your first statement and I wasn't talking about MS games but Indie and third-party games on console only and MS does have some games on console only.
@@Spartan_83 alright. It’s not really relevant to the convo though, you just buy the Xbox to play console games. Pretty straight forward. But my whole purpose of building a pc was to play stuff like counterstrike, WoW, guild wars, the plethora of great games that are pc specific, also the ability to upgrade it component by component and not beat on your wallet too much.. so for me personally, until you can run windows and Steam on one, an Xbox is a great console, and a great option for gaming in general, but not a viable alternative to a PC.
As a pc player who sold his own rig to build a new one last year (expecting to be able to find a gpu), I ended up buying the series S to hold me over untill I could complete a new build. Here's what I found out. 1: good graphics up to 1440p. 4k is upscaled by software, or may cause artifacts depending on your monitor. 2: buy a 144hz, or 120 hz monitor, it makes a world of difference from standard 60 fps. But be aware that in most AAA games you won't be getting more than 50-60 fps. It's really ideal for fast paced shoodters like COD (not caldera, though it can work ok). 3: this is NOT a pc replacement, if you think it is your just bs'ing yourself. This is intended for gaming, it's not a workstation. 4: Input lag can be bad. Halo Infinite was un-playable because the mouse input had some sort of delay added to it. This is probably filtering done on the developers side, but it was seriously atrocious. Other games like Cold War and Warzone/Caldera actually aren't that bad. 5: buy a xim apex if you are a dedicated m&k player. There is support for most console games on the market, and you can fine tune the feel untill you get close to a pc like experience. Only use this for single player or coop, NOT multi-player, you can be detected and banned. 6: the onboard storage is 500 gb, enough for Warzone, 2 COD mp games, and Forza Horizon 5. Additional storage is close to 200$ which is a huge rip off. So plan to be re-downloading games often, or just wait for a Series X to become avaliable (or buy/build a pc). 7: save up and buy/build a PC. Pre-builts (that are not from OEMs) with an i5 or ryzen 5, 3060 or higher, m.2 nvme storage, and dual channel ram will run you 1800$ cad (1500 usd), but it will give you an incomparable experience. Honestly, there is nothing that produces as good of graphics, or as seemless a response as a good pc. Save up for one and you will really enjoy it. Since I was able to source a 3060 ti, my new computer has been built and I have a hard time powering on the console again. Honestly it's just my preference (especially since I do a lot of editing and work on my pc too), but I promise that anyone who picks up a new pc will be happy with it (even if they still play with a controller on it). Overall, be happy with what you have, otherwise you will just be chasing for the next greatest thing. Satisfaction comes from realizing the value of what you already have.

The Series S does support 4k, but in very few games, for example The Touryst and Ori And The Will of The Wisp. I do agree that it makes more sense to use a 1080p monitor if you're on a budget though. Having said that, the Series S might render most games at a lower res, but it upscales it to output 4k, so it will still look better than 1080p. Also, if you have a Series S then you don't really need the monitor's built-in Smart TV apps so you can save a few bucks by buying a less fancy monitor.

La xbox sus juegos son muy fluidos esos si pero si ocupas la pc de verdad mejor la pc ya sea para programación edición o cualquier cosa que no sea solo video juegos
I'd call this pseudo-PC gaming since it's literally just using the console with kbm and you're still extremely limited. But I'm curious if it's possibly to install Windows on it somehow. Besides, Steam Deck offers actual budget pc gaming for around the same price (base model anyway)
It's already running a modified version of windows. But no you can't. You can sideload uwp pc apps though if you have developer mode enabled. Like retroarch.
You cannot install windows on here because of a couple things. Microsoft has Intentionally put protections to prevent you from installing windows because of things like game cheating. The Xbox has wildly different hardware from an ordinary PC so it would be impossible to get drivers for the Xbox and if you were to make drivers, your assembly coding skills would have to be in god mode. The Xbox also uses a completely different filesystem from windows. The Xbox uses a filesystem called FATX (don't confuse it with exfat that's different) and the bios only supports fatx (unless you flash a custom bios). In addition to this this probably goes against the Xbox and Microsoft tos, and you would probably get taken to court. At this point its just easier to go buy a windows computer, or install Linux on the Xbox.
It's more of a 720p-1080p 30-60fps device in long run so you better hold to your 1080p monitor if you want to use series S 1440p is possible in some games 120fps too All depends on how demanding the game is .

Agreed but it can do media at 4k though.
Didn’t you hear it’s a sponsor? 🥴
I paid 100 for mine from Koorui , the black level isnt right but it gets the job done
You can even get a 32" 2k 144hz for that price
I don't know about prices but if it's same, I would choose 4K anyway.
There’s a lot of whiney babies in these comments. The SS is fantastic and is indeed next gen. For less than most higher end MOBOs lmaoo
@@JPD7000 it's true, watch tests. You don't need a 4k display
@vhs quality I think it's better to go with 1080p, since most games are 1080p or lower. You don't want to get that ugly non-native blur

The Series S was a great decision on xboxs part ngl pair that with game pass and it's a amazing gaming experience for a more casual bunch of gamers.
@@Omar-kl3xp I also own one and play it everyday so you may have seen it on a TH-cam video but I am talking from actual personal experience with the machine itself
@@codemister7 most game That do 1440p are 30fps not 60fps or 120fps which it is not the best mode in my opinion when you have the option to play 60fps at 1080p ,there are few games that do 120fps ,I am aware but they are not at 1440p ,they are at dynamic 1080p which means that it drop lower then 1080p to keep the frame stable.btw I’ve also experienced it and play fair amount of time on the series s since one of my family member own it ,btw digital foundry channel are really legit ,they will tell you the exact frame rate and resolution the game is running on the new console ,they are regularly in contact with game developers .After seen all the games that have been tested on the new console ,I knw for a fact that the series s is mainly playing at 1080p 60fps for now ,keep in mind I’m not saying that 1080p is bad ,in fact if you have a 1080p monitor or 1440p monitor 1080p resolution is pretty fine especially that you can play 60fps and some games 120fps with dynamic 1080p .
The only major issue with this for me, is that I built my PC to play PC specific games. That was the main allure to getting into PC gaming.
What about games that are console only?
4K 120Hz and Series S shouldn't really be in the same sentence. But it's a nice machine
Its been on every xbox i have had i think that fake feature in settings. Love the series s aswell. Well said tho

Why not go with 1440p, 144hz? The series s just upscales to 4k
It doesn't upscale to 4k actually just 1440p but mainly since content consumption can still do 4k and the system maxes out at 120hrz so it can't do the 144hrz
@@The_MEMEphis OK I just mentioned 144 hz as it represents most monitors that are available. Plus you could use it as a pc monitor at a some point in the future. Regardless, he could opt to go for 120.
Instead right now he is using 4K 60. Xbox can't reach 4k other than content consumption, which I believe you won't notice a difference in 27", and the monitor goes up to 60, so it can't take advantage of the 120fps, for the games that support it.
@@KC80SiX 4k monitor on a Xbox series S dont make any Sense, any 1440p/144/120hz monitor is better. Probably Samsung G7 odysey is the best Monitor for that Console to use all Features.
@@alexandr8163 actually playing on a 4K TV compared to a 1080p monitor is a huge difference, and if it has HDR even better, games look amazing with the upscaling, I prefer playing on my TV all the way.
@@andresr6103 definitely agree on this. We are talking about a 27 inch monitor here, though, not a tv. So, it's not a great recommendation as it practically doesn't let the series s perform as intended.
It can't do 4K (so monitor not fully utilized) and it's not allowed to run at 120hz, where applicable. (so xbox not fully utilized)
I hope xbox keep on going with budget versions for the future, I have only had my series S for about 3 weeks now and I love it! I originally was going to upgrade my PC gpu but the prices now are too much because of scalping, I'm glad in a way as I probably wouldn't have even considered buying an xbox
Is the series s good for low gaming? I am getting a ps5 disc and was wondering if series s is good for playing Xbox exclusives
@@derekisludicrous9203 in my opinion honest opinion, definitely! It runs smoother than I had expected, I thought there would be major downsides over getting the s over the x but it runs smooth for applications and games, even from my external drive
@@YamiFoxx oh for sure I just don't feel like getting and X because most of my 360 games are digital anyways and I'll primarily use my ps5 thank you tho!
@@derekisludicrous9203 if you mostly want an s for 360 games then 100% get the series s as most games now come with new features, auto hdr and fps boost, check out a video on them for 360 games 😁
@@YamiFoxx thank you!
I have an affinity for this console. It provided a viable option during the time when prices for the Series X, PS5, and graphics cards were exorbitantly high.
Me gustó mucho este Setup! 💣🔥

+1 Sub!
This is so awesome
60hz Monitor? Na man. 144hz is what you need to maximize the 120FPS.
144hz at least ,1440p 120hz can be better
You only need a 2k 144hz monitor, no need a 4k one
that footage of forza looked incredible
I have loved in this monitor, such a great picture it gives
Is the mouse sensitivity good? In games
input lag is nothing close to pc times
That's not true at all
@@kwakes212 I just had a series s and it had way more lag than a pc with the mkb
@@yayaya1193able idk I haven't noticed anything, I guess there is then
@@kwakes212 play cod with mkb on Xbox and then play on pc. You’ll see the difference very easily
I wouldn't call it a gaming pc. Pc gaming is much more, more games, more content and the modding community is huge
Mouse on Xbox and pa5 is absolutely bad. I had X and S (sold them) and mouse sensitivity absolutely bad, it’s not about vsync cause games on pc with vsync playing MUCH MUCH better and smoother on mouse, much more comfortable, but on Xbox and ps5 you just have very bad input lag + sensor lag, it’s feel like you playing not on the table, but like on the glass. I don’t recommend play with mouse and keyboard on Xbox and ps5. Just check Reddit guys, its not only my problem, like I have bad mouse and etc. its problem with consoles. But one thing. In cod warzone mouse works really better than in Fortnite. Fortnite is a hell to play with mouse. Who will not agree with me - just buy gaming pc and try mouse on it.
You used bad Hardware or whatever never had any lag with mouse+keyboard on the supported Xbox Series X games. Also have a 3070rtx/3700x ryzen Pc for Comparison. At the moment theres no Hardware that can Compete with that setup.
Bs
Its also an emulation beast!
Nice and informative video dude... Does PS5 offer the same keyboard and mouse support for gaming?
xbox has mouse input lag though. its slight but noticable. too annoying when you have a PC to notice it. but if you want the best bang for your buck. series S is the way to go. the graphics and frames u get from it is ridiculous compared to the price youll have to spend for a PC equal.
Esse atraso só acontece se você jogar a 60hz ,se você jogar Fortnite ou warzone ,que tem modo para 120fps e jogar eles a 120hz , é imperceptível
I tought i was crazy but felt this also on the xbox series x in cod. Could be cod also tho at the moment :/.
Technically you could jailbreak the Xbox and install Linux on it. Since it kind of already runs a modified version of Linux. Then it would be a real pc.
Xbox runs on heavily modified version of windows
@@johntrooper3770 oh really. I didn't know that. Thanks. But it would still be cool to have a Linux Xbox
Xbox Series S is good if money is tight. Bang for Buck, it's unbeatable.
I’ve got a Dell S2721D… 27 inch 1440p 70hz monitor. I get great performance out of it and right now it’s $179 at Dell.
O monstrinho serve pra tudo perfeito demais
Sabes cómo se llama la pantalla?
120fps on 60hz 😂
🤡
Great video, thanks for posting!
DIDNT KNOW YOU CAN USE OFFICE ON XBOX... THAT WAS THE ONLY THING HOLDING ME BACK FROM CONSOLES... GOD DAMN...LOVE IT
It's more of a 720p-1080p 30-60fps device in long run so you better hold to your 1080p monitor if you want to use series S
1440p is possible in some games 120fps too
All depends on how demanding the game is .
I say this is an absolute win
I think the percentage of buying the Xbox will be in favor of the Xbox Series s
Pls reply, i know im rather late on this but ive been considering doing something like this and Ive heard that the mouse acceleration for fortnite is somewhat bad, is that true? Also are you able to plug the headset into the console or does it have to be plugged into the keyboard?
console players: just play games
pc players: more fps more fps more fps (frames per second)
Series S is amazing and the picture looks really good on that monitor
4k monitor is much better than 1440p. There is not jagged text and stairstepping. That's why the picture looks good.
Nice video!👌I just picked up one for £80 with 7 games off a friend they are really nice also very small.
I bought a monitor, this Xbox, and the storage expansion card, and now I’ve got this pretty cool budget gaming setup. My only problem is no background play. I really hope they allow you to listen to youtube in the background of games. I have to have a video running in the background, so I just use a cheap laptop to watch/listen to videos.
Congratulations you have been selected among the shortlisted winner's for the ongoing ps5 giveaway What'sapp the number above 👆👆...
I want to build a pc. I built one before, but with the prices today, I just can’t beat the price to performance that the series S gives given my right budget
Is the monitor good enough for daily gaming?
