    You can’t walk past a tourist shop in Edinburgh, Scotland, without hearing _Last Of The Mohicans_ being blasted out on the bagpipes. I hear it every day and I still bloody love it. ❤️

      I agree, i think the impact of traditional and tribal music is very similar to modern electronic trance music, especially if there's no singing involved, only music. They both take you to another world just with the rhythm, melodies, instruments and/or electronic sounds. Music without singing is more intense because you get to create your own world, and you forget the music is made by a human, it feels otherworldly.

    My dad remembers seeing this in cinemas with my mom. She was pregnant with my sister and rather hormonal, and was rather taken with Daniel Day-Lewis. When he is yelling to Cora "I will find you!" my mom blurted out to the screen "Okay!" in a flustered breathless voice and the whole theatre burst out laughing.

    I live in Pennsylvania, in the SW where the Whiskey rebellion happened, where a young George Washington watched Tennicarison murder a group of French Surveyors, which promoted the French and Indian War (Seven Years War). Where General Braddock lay in a grave along a road. I grew up in the midst of where history happened. My ancestors were here at that time, settling the frontier. This is my favorite song and always moves me tremendously when I think about this movie and think about what life was like for those very brave souls in this very wild and rough place.❤

    Magnificent! I'm taken back to the beautiful Highlands and the Royal Deeside. Then again to my family's Cooper roots to upper New England and the real setting for the "Last of the Mohicans." It's in our blood. however, as we've become North Carolinians in the mid 1900's, we are familiar with the film settings for the wonderful movie! As descendants of James Fennimore Cooper & proud Native Americans, we are happy and celebrate this marvelous film and explicit documentary of our people, both "Indian" and Gael. The musical score reaches deep into our hearts. Beatrice Blacklock Cooper Kelly.

      It's because we're emotional people. Words can evoke anger and fear but also protective feelings and physical responses, it can give you hope and help when you need it. You put that to music that touches the heart and you can bring about all kinds of responses. It's called being human. I really enjoyed the movie but the music brought it all together. "The Search" by Dougie MacLean is an insanely beautiful album...almost every single track is awesome. But this one was always my favorite. My parents used to play the cassette tape for us, and then when I saw the movie for the first time and heard the orchestration of it, chills ran down my spine. There is an intense determination within that builds and grows, just like the movie

    I've travelled to, both, Fort William Henry and Fort Ticonderoga in Upper State New York. This song reminds me of not only watching the movie but being on the battlefields. The abject beauty of the surrounding scenery in contrast to horrid things which took place back in the 1750's is like no other experience I've ever felt.

      Indeed, there are few things that common with Mongolians and Indians 1.Scalping 2.Tribal system. I belong to sharnuud tribe for example, while Chinggis was Kyan tribe which was one of 3 ruling clans of Hun empire. The last thing, don't get angry on me, is alcoholizm. But difference is, we Mongolians got beards, and especially in central Mongolia we have groups that children in little age got white-blonde hair and green-gray eyes, funny thing is their hair turns black when they grow up, but green or grey eyes remain same. Maybe we got some blood from now extinct "white skinned blue eyed barbarians" mentioned many times in ancient chinese histories. Search Yuezhi in wiki for more details about this Asian white people, maybe they were related to Ainu, white aborigines of Japanese island... BUT, MAIN THING HERE IS THIS MUSIC IS AMAZING!! :)

    • @ellenhilts-gossett4108
      @ellenhilts-gossett4108 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      ***** There are a few basic historical bits you've left out. First of all, the most serious "slaughtering" of Native Americans began long before the American Revolution, when Europeans brought their poxy bodies over usually to trap fur that didn't belong to them in exchange for cheap glitter and whole tribes were decimated by disease. As opposed to Latin American natives, there are more native North Americans now than there were in the early 17th century; that cannot be said of the Spanish and Portuguese influence. Finally, to try and explain to you the mindset of the natives of the U.S., in their most prestigious and public selves displayed at powwows they carry the American flag not because they have to but because they KNOW where they come from and they are proud of it.
