My sis n law has had her Kia for 6 years now. Engine replaced, electrical gremlins, 2 fire hazard recalls, and one transmission replacement. Same car as my brother's 2007 Santa Fe, basically. Albeit with a modified chassis. JDs Santa Fe only has 46k original miles. He drives the company rigs mostly.
A Hyundai is a Kia with its own skin and looks and lesser options in many cases. Dad leases a new Kia, into his 3rd year and 10k miles later, it's an oil burner.
So beware of which Hyundai products that you buy.
35th thumbs up, Lauren! Great walk around and review for the person with gold nuggets(F&I sales term, you know what it means).

The question I have, is will these Korean brands last 150,000? Everyone at my 200+ workplace by that bought these brands don't hold them. After 4-5 years they start falling apart. My next vehicle will be a Toyota until I see more long term reviews

I had a sorento hybrid the engine began knocking at only 10k miles Kia dealer said it was totally normal just drive it until the engine completely blows then come back. I traded for a Toyota the next weekend

Personally, I like the Hyundai Palisade. I fit inside with a lot of work, I'm the new restyling looks good, and it goes good with AWD.
Takeaways are the rancid new car smell inside, an overbearing hypersensitive control aid setup, and the silly push button transmission. Oh, and the infotainment system is horribly complex.

The 8 speed DCT has had major recalls. The 281hp/311lb ft tq 2.5T is an absolute beast when munching in boost and eating the teeth of the corresponding 8spd DCT. Quick car, if you keep your foot out of the oil pan. When on hwy, it can hit 32mpg In capable hands.

Is the 2.5T DCT trim still giving trouble? Is the Hybrid trim the better buy?

That's why i went with the hybrid that comes with a 6-speed automatic.

Absolutely love my 2018 Sorento LX Turbo. I've been looking at Hybrid vehicles for those savings on gas as all my driving is pretty local. You had a great review! Thanks for putting it together.

don't know anybody that owns a Kia though its parent company Hyundai is another story in the last 20 yrs. my mom has owned 3 Hyundai's and never had a major issue with them though she doesn't drive her 2012 Azera limited enough though that car holds its resale value well due to its limited sales in the US only around 200,000 in it's entire production cycle 19 years 2000 to 2018 where as take for ex 2006 the Azera sold 27,000 units in the US while the Chevrolet Impala sold 290,000 that model year alone its Chevrolet's 2nd longest running nameplate behind the Suburban SUV Suburban is 1935-present and Impala was 1957-2020 model years 1958-2021 selling more than 16 million units in that time the closest car in sales to that mark of the modern era is the Toyota Camry which is currently close tp 14 million in sales and as common as a house fly like the Chevy Nova was in the 1970s

Always thought the Sorento had a lot to offer. B@ 10:50 - "best blind spot cameras on the market"! Those are amazing. I'm surprised more manufacturers have copied those.

Does it also come with a regualr roof? I find I don't use the panoramic view.
