I bought Hyundai Tucson back in 2014 for her college and I just helped my daughter move from Denver to San Francisco for her internship last week, Tucson has been great totally reliable small SUV for her and for me as well. It has been 10 plus years without single issue!!!
The gloss black in the interior is dragging it down from being a true SX trim. I wish KIA would use a different material in the cabin. The rest of the changes look amazing in this ride.
A very thorough review, although you failed to mention that in "Eco" or "Smart" modes, the paddle shifters change to control regenerative braking levels (although i-pedal driving is NOT supported). The paddles only control transmission shift changes when in "Sport" driving mode. I'm really hoping that the 2026 HEV & PHEV models will have an HUD at the top trim level (as is currently true for the 2025 Hyundai Tucson HEV Prestige trim), as my wife's 2025 Tucson's HEV Prestige has a truly excellent HUD, which is a considerable step up in quality from her previous Santa Fe Calligraphy trim's HUD.
Just drove a PHEV model 25 yesterday . Drove both Hybrid and Non Hybrid. The PHEV definitley exhibited LAG when stepping on it. And more Noisy too getting on the highway. The On Hybrid was very good, great Umph and quick Torque. Both models were AWD. I would re-take the test drive - but this time try a Hybrid NOT the PHEV version. The lack of Buttons to control Climate and media functions wsa NOT my favorite. It is electronic digital board that must be switched Back and forth to use for each Function. The graphics and Camera are Spectacular. Clear and Sharp, and Intuitive. I was not Impressed with the Digital Rearview Mirror - during a day test drive, far too much Glare was bouncing off of it.
Second row captains chairs are a bad idea. I have a rear seat bench, and I want one in my next sorento - or a dealer option to get a rear bench with heated seats installed.
Thanks for the thorough review. One important feature that seems to be missing even on the top model: Heads-up display (HUD). Whats up with that? The 2024 Santa Fe Calligraphy Hybrid has it (but it doesn't have a spare wheel -- arrgh).
Great walkthrough video, thanks guys. I just received mine yesterday, GCC full options 3.5L 270hp. Still discovering the car, this video will help alot. Appreciate your efforts, many thanks.
Kia and Hyundai get treated badly because of things in the past. JD Power has given them great scores recently. I have a 2011 Sorento with 156K miles with no issues ever. Take care of your care and it'll take care of you!
Appreciate your reviews . Especially the ride and noise levels. Considering a Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy or this. We like long haul quiet comfort. Watched your SanteFe /palisade comparison. Probably will go with the palisade. Thank you.
Generally speaking, I'm a fan of Kias and would consider this as potential replacement for my Subie Outback. I currently have a Kia Niro & the dual purpose screen for HVAC & radio is problematic. I must take my eyes off the road to make adjustments to the HVAC settings. The letters are on the smallish side & it quickly reverts back to Radio setting (in about 5 seconds). I am NOT a fan of the dual screen.
I found the last model hybrid with the same powertrain to be heavy and slow. They need to beef up the electric motor or add another one to the rear axle.
The only thing that pisses me off is that the refreshed model has less power, while they could give it a gibber and stronger battery to make more power.
what do you think about purchase of the platinum ext warranty for a 2024 Sonata hybrid? dealer says it’s half off at 2900.00 . i know that could cover computers if something happens
Love your reviews. I'll hopefully be getting mine within this next week. Trading in my Telluride. California gas prices are insane. Glad to be going back to a Sorento, especially a hybrid one this time.
Unfortunately, Kia and Hyundai are still very unreliable long term vehicles. I have had many friends and family have total engine failures. There is a reason they give a 10 year 100k warranty because they are not made to go past this. Definitely still would not recommend unless you lease only.
@@zackeryjones2314 This is great! not saying it isnt possible. But percentage wise more fail than last as long as your Moms. Same with Jeeps some can over 300k and many break down before 30k. Glad your Moms is still going strong!
This one has a true automatic transmission not a DCT TRANSMISSION. Yes I won't get the DCT transmission. I have an 18 Kia forte S model right now with 107k. No transmission issues at all with this car.
I have a 2020 Kia Sorento EX V6. Transmission already replaced once at 37k miles. The refurbished transmission I now have is already slipping and hunting for gears after 30k miles of my admittedly aggressive driving. Would never have this issue with a Toyota or Honda product

Does it have HDA1 or HDA2 ?

You should do a Santa Fe hybrid vs sorento hybrid comparison

Agreed that gloss/piano black should never be used in car. It becomes ugly very quickly.
Ive owned three Sorentos and they are all very well built and Reliable if serviced regularly No Cars are use and disposable 😊

I agree
In Korea we have several options for the type of second row seat. Do u not ?
You need ac vents in the 3rd row and 2nd on the top I have the Kia Sorento 2022 and it gets hot for the kids in the 2nd and 3rd row
kia continues with weird packages. just give us the option of bench seat with the hybrid. why is that so hard.
It is surprising kia doesn't offer that in ur country. In Korea we can choose.

Congrats and glad you found the review helpful!
Two issues for me, 1. Third row is useless. 2. Need to be able to tow 3500 lbs min.

Past yes I agree but present isn't all great. A massive amount of transmission failures on new models.
@@thomasb.1124 false. nice try though!
@@tatersquad2000 I use facts. Thank you.
Where on new models? You have a lie, not fact. 😂
Do any Hyundais or Kias in the U.S. come with Hands-On Detection?
Wish the steering wheel looked a little more substantial. Pretty car though.
I'd only buy the hybrid, wouldn't consider the turbo because of that dual-clutch gearbox.
The S trim has a true automatic transmission. With the 2.5 liter none turbo engine.
those have been issues
Wasted center console space, no HUD, and no third row vents are a killer compared to the Santa Fe.

It's okay but I'm still going for the Hyundai Santa Fe

I like the way the Santa Fe looked until I saw the rear smh lmao
@@El_Gato718 I agree. The back is ugly👎🏻
third row is not a bonus but rather necessity since they force a captain seat
I found the last model hybrid with the same powertrain to be heavy and slow. They need to beef up the electric motor or add another one to the rear axle.
Weird how come US spec doesn't have air vents on the 3rd row?? I think they're essential
Weird, in Iraq they have vents on the third row. Why take them out depending on the market 🤷
I’m hoping they add the pano roof and wireless CarPlay to the 2025 telluride
Brilliant review guys.
Great review guys & I consider buy this 1 day.

Wow !! There is not much cargo space
Trunk is super narrow
I think I can not put anything in there could I put a cooler for family trip ?
If you have the 3rd row up it’s about the same space that any 3rd row vehicle has. With 3rd row down there more than enough space
Love your reviews. I'll hopefully be getting mine within this next week. Trading in my Telluride. California gas prices are insane. Glad to be going back to a Sorento, especially a hybrid one this time.
Thanks and congrats! What color are you hoping to get?
@@CarConfections It's coming in a beautiful snow white pearl with gray interior. Excited for it!
I guess the 3rd row seats are just a fantasy...
How does any ride over 30K not have HUD?
Love the spec dump up front!

Have they revealed what they will replace their santa fe with
We will be quite soon 👍
Isn't this segment 14:00 the Highlander's? Those have 3 rows..
They typically have not been considered in the same segment but they are closer than ever to each other
Excellent review as per usual!
Thanks and have a great Sunday!
Nó đẹp hơn rất nhiều so với rất nhiều xe trong cùng phân khúc, tin tôi đi 👋👍
My RAV4 hybrid is almost as noisy as my Wrangler was.
I know it’s hard for you guys to keep straight faces when reviewing Hyundai products at this point!
For the people who think the reliability is bad, have you been taking a nap for 15 years? It's right up there with most other brands.
it's very irritating that the sxp hybrid is solely AWD, that is so dumb...I'd have bought already if they offered fwd.
Good dialog but you need to elliminate using "as well" so darn often...it is annoying. Keep up the good work.
It’s very nice

I totally agree. Once they hit 100k miles they start falling apart.
Well my mom has 2015 kia sorento lx has 175,000 miles on it still going strong with no engine or tranmission issues
Maybe young people are drawn to them because so many underage children made the parts.🫣
2011 Sorento with 156K miles and no issues ever.
