Amazing! I bought this on release day for my 3DO I'd waited ages for it to come out. I played it to death, I absolutely loved this game and watching this video I instantly remembered everything, the ships, the characters, the Kilrathi taunting you and of course The Behemoth mission ahhhh yes!
Coming from the PC version, the 3DO port was a very nice surprise, not only for the extra cutscenes, but also for the more action style gameplay and redesigned missions.. it's a different and refreshing way to enjoy this masterpiece.
@Frey WC3 on 3DO included some cutscenes that didn't make it in the pc release (notably the Hobbes holovid message). Since ground missions were cut due to hardware limitations, these parts were replaced by cutscenes (also the final Kilrah run). Also, all missions were redesigned for a faster and more arcade-ish gameplay. Also, on 3DO, there is Super Wing Commander, a remake of WC1 with full speech, updated Privateer-level graphics, new art style (new ships, new faces etc.) and an additional secret mission campaign (that replaces SM2).
@@reloaded_ To be fair, I think those ground based missions should have been cut on pc too. Very impressive for their time sure, but they don't work very well.
I was a little kid in 1994 playing this and burning soldier for the 3DO it just blew my mind away the graphics and in this game you would click on a girls behind and she would tell you something lol it was crazy for me that you could do something like that but yea it was nice to know I was playing cool 3D games for a cool game system like 2-3yrs before people actually started buying N64s n PS1s and had a chance to play 3D games but even tho the 3DO was expensive in 1994 my uncle got it for $1000 it was going from $700-$1400
This was a life-changing game at the time, as a kid I was more amazed than I thought I could ever be.

One of my all time favorite games. 3DO had the best version of this game. They also had the best version of Space Hulk too. Wish I still had my 3DO.

@@reloaded_ 3do version showed the cockpits of each fighter. The ps1 version failed to do that.

@@copperdee3073I’d assume that’s to have less view that needs to be real time rendered, basically lowering the strain on the 3do.

3do had the best version of Wing Commander 3.
PC?
@@tiefensucht Even better than PC.
Interesting, what was the difference? @@TomH2681
I just watched some PC footage and the ships seem higher resolution with cleaner textures during the actual game play@@TomH2681

This is so strange to see on 3do. I like the colored vid screen and the different com speech.
