Damn I knew I wasn't crazy I was looking for this game for a few years. I still remember the elimination matches those were fun
lol its worse than I remembered...
Damn, i lost my CD yeeeaaars ago
No download link?
Hi, google "kaos dos game" and you should find it easily.
Nice, I never saw this game before. Too bad they ripped off Doom sound effects for some guns.
Maybe some of the sound effects were used as placeholders to be replaced later in a final version that never came out. It's an interesting title, made by 3 guys, with a proprietary engine. Development started in 1995 but then things lagged behind. Eventually they released the latest build in 2003. Fun fact, at the initial stage of development the game was supposed to be a homeless simulator called Barboon :D
@@reloaded_ Very interesting. Thanks for the details.
Музыка в игре супер , ностальгия
Now this is real horsepower!
O rany, grałem w to wieki temu na czarno-białym CRT, nie sądziłem, że ta gra jest aż tak kolorowa :D
I see bullet on thumbnail I upvote
It's hard to me considering this a great port : it's missing vertex color lighting, aspect ratio is wrong, fonts are not displayed correctly (compared to the original game). It's also using very little advantage of the hardware (which is much better than a PS1) : clipping is quite high and vertex transform is still done using fixed point decimal (it's shaking all over the place, there is cracks and holes in the track). I'm pretty sure Pentium can handle this (eg : Quake with 3DFX). Maybe this was necessary to make it fast enough on a ATI 3D RAGE, but it feel like a rushed port and downgrade compared to the original.
Well, "great" compared to the DOS version (which this port is based on). It's definitely a visual improvement over that. It's indeed a rushed port: higher resolution, bilinear, and not much else... but it was exclusive for the underpowered Rage cards, where it ran abysmally, so I guess the devs didn't put much effort into it. The code was also a bit of an unoptimized mess from the start, as Wipeout on DOS struggled even on mid-range Pentiums, and exhibits many of the visual issues you can find here (some of which are exacerbated by the wrapper here). However, I think if it had been released for the Voodoo instead, running at decent speeds, it would have been a hit at the time, even if it was visually identical to this, just my two cents :D
So many great memories from this epic game... bought a Logitech Wingman joystick just to play this game, and never really used the joystick for anything else!
Second comment :) ! POD, a dream come true with my maxi gamer 3dfx ..
It was the game that sold me on a 3Dfx card... such a leap in graphics and framerate... and that lens flare! :D
@@reloaded_ same thing for me with my amd k6-200 and my matrox mystique and my maxi gamer 3dfx (later replaced by a voodoo banshee then a riva tnt 1), i was blown away by the bilinear at the time ahah
Devil May Cry 3 GAMEHOUSE POP CAP GAMES Epic PinBall THE COMPLETE COLLECTION
Good memories.
...huh. The only PC version I'm familiar with was the one on the Sega Smash Pack double-pack, and that's pretty much the Genesis version. This isn't the same version, but it's interesting. The intro is different here, and the health bar is blue. That little Windows Midi player is trying its best, and the .wav and Midi section are out-of-balance, almost as badly as the PC version of Sonic CD. I know an old Windows PC can have the Midi, .wav, and Red Book audio have their volumes adjusted separately, so this is a common issue. I wonder if anyone ripped this version's music and SFX.
It was one of the first games published directly by Sega in '95, along with Tomcat Alley and Ecco the Dolphin (with the Sega PC label).
Lousy Game
Weird Game
Strange Game
I remember not really knowing what to do or where to go, always driving in circles or back and forth. Still, fond memories from that time. Played alot of C&C. 😁
10/10 youtube recommendation. is there a saturn version of this? preferably japanese CE with authentic arcade music.
The horse is present in all Saturn versions of Daytona USA, Circuit Edition included. In CE there's Uma (Brown horse) and Uma2 (Grey horse).
@@reloaded_ thanks for the cool info
Waaaaay smoother than on contemporary hardware, even with accelerated 3D.
True, we tend to forget how much PCs of the time struggled with 3D games.
I remember this game not running fast enough to play - and I really think it was a 100Mhz 486, IIRC, that I was using.
Fond memories of playing this game. I really hated those crab things. Little boogers used to creep up the dang walls!
Do you know a website where i can buy a windows 95 pc?

This is crazy...super hard to control
Yep, the handling is very poor, the less you steer, the better.
JUST <3 ...\m/
How did you make this game run so smooth?
I'm playing in first-person/cockpit view: the game has a very "wobbly" camera, especially in 3rd person, (I've read that's an in-game bug caused by the camera being affected by the physics engine...) but the issue it's way less evident with first-person view.
I played this game too much. So much fun!! Specially with the cheat codes that made the cars break super fast, I laughed so hard of the cars breaking down.
Steam is coming out with a modern version of Privateer space game
I had this port, and holy crap was it bad...
There was really nothing quite like the Tandy 1000.
The CGA almost gives a silent movie look.
Flashbacks to a great childhood
love this on C64 music was 10+ better
this game basically unplayable on my PC via dosbox
It's either too fast or too slow depending on what's on the screen... it's somewhat playable with a fixed cycle count, but you still get huge slowdowns near planets or big ships, so you have to manually increase the cycles in those situations... but if you set them too high then the joystick start to drift... so it's a bit of a mess. The best way to play it is by using the unofficial patch, that basically transform the DOS version in the Windows 95 one.
There is something so nostalgic about these 90's software renderers.
Muito bom esse game👍👍
Hey do you mind if I use a few seconds of this in a video and credit you?
No problem, be my guest.
@@reloaded_ Thanks!
Damn bro those graphics were so old school back in the days.
крутой канал, тоже надо сделать такую подборку
Yo how to install it on Windows 10? I got the CD but the setup isn't working. And what settings on dgVoodoo?
Hi, I'm on vacation so I can't check, and it's been a while since I played it so I don't remember exactly, but try using OTVDM (if the installer is 16 bit). Then dgVoodoo should make it run. If I'm not mistaken you also need to limit the framerate to 30, (with Rivatuner or else) otherwise it runs too fast. Hope this helps.
@@reloaded_ Please enjoy your vacation there's no rush. It's a 32-bit application but I got the game installed, but something's still wrong. When launching it's a black screen and if I stop the A2MOVIE.DAT process it shows the main menu. But if I select start it crashes and shows both: "initlib.cpp(1014) : could not set display mode (operation is not supported)." and "pal.cpp(135) : could set entries (undefinted error condition)". If I select exit it crashes and shows: "initlib.cpp(1014) : could not set display mode (operation is not supported).". And if I Alt-Tab it crashes and shows both: "clipblit.cpp(622) : restore xvga_screen (surface was created in different mode)." and "initlib.cpp(1014) : could not set display mode (operation is not supported).". When installing it also says I require DirextX 3 and NT Service Pack 3 and that Service Pack 0 was detected.
